[CN] Fifth Anniversary Livestream - Victor’s Message
Five years... may sound like a long time. But when considered carefully, it’s merely five moments fleeting in the blink of an eye, five rounds of the cycle of seasons. If we are to go into even more detail, the time we’ve spent together is, at best, only 1800 days and nights. This, of course, doesn’t include the days when we don’t get to see each other because of business trips.
You often lament that we don’t have enough time, always envying my ability to pause time. And you even always yell at me to use this ability to buy you more time before the proposal deadlines.
Normally, I wouldn’t say yes because time is precious precisely for the reason that it cannot be brought back.
Looking back on it, the time we’ve spent together over the years and everything that we’ve done together – it’s all sufficiently enriching and colorful. So much so that it makes one want to experience it all over again. But today, I suddenly understand your feelings to some extent.
I can still remember the very first time I saw you. You were so bold, and how you were willing to pay any price – all so you could save that little kitten. The way you were so absent-minded and were breaking your way right through... it was a very fortunate thing that I ran into you.
In case you’ve never heard me say this before, you can hear it while we are still on this special day. The Victor from that day, that version of me who met you, was very lucky.
There has never been anyone who, so silently and without so much as a warning, has been able to be integrated into my life. You’ve made me used to your presence, used to the coffee you bring for me. I’ve also gotten used to the clamor you and Pudding make when running all over the house, and to the smiling face of a certain dummy I get to see every early morning.
But I will not be satisfied with only these past five years. Even long before, even from that day I actually met you in the park – the gears of time belonging to Victor have been given more special meaning.
The reason anniversaries are important is not only because they allow us to look back on the past, but also because therein lies the lessons of how we are to tread onto the future.
And, the one and only thing I want for the future is the entirety of your time from beginning to end.
