i do consider myself a pretty ambitious person who goes after things, but honestly i find great comfort in the fact that at the end of the day nothing makes me happier than the way water scintillates w sunlight or how the breeze touches my skin or the fact that the sky pulses w lilacs and golds at twilight or a friend's laughter at a joke i made or strings of jazz music at a cafe on an overcast fall day or the utter peace that comes w studying outdoors at the library when the weather's chilly but not freezing or taking a hike w nothing but the crunch of leaves for company or curling up w a book after a long reading slump. i don't think material things or achievements would ever eclipse that for me. never
