To say that his cab driver was frightened was an understatement. It wasn’t every day that a bloody man requested a ride, and Izuna’s current physical state would only make someone ask if they should drive to a hospital first.
“Just drive. I’ll tell you when to stop.”
Although his face was beautiful, the harsh words that came from his mouth did not match his appearance. Not wanting to anger the man, the cab driver nodded and drove off as if nothing happened.
With the driver’s eyes averted from him, Izuna proceeded to take off his suit jacket and unbuttoned the dress shirt partially, revealing a bloody wound on his upper chest. Clenching his teeth, he began to clean the area with the supplies he had stowed in to his briefcase.
There was always a chance that a meeting between potential allies could go wrong, and Izuna had been wise to prepare for the worst case scenario. All it took was for someone to say the wrong word in order to start violence amongst the men in the room, but Izuna reacted quickly and did his best to get out of the building without drawing too much attention to himself. Luckily the deal had gone down at night in a part of Macau that most tourists and locals didn’t frequent once the sun went down.
Once his wound was as patched up as he could get it with his medical abilities, Izuna examined the gun he had brought along with him, making sure to rub off the blood that had got on to the body as well as reload it.
That particular sound caused the cab driver to look in the rear-view mirrior, eyeing Izuna in horror.
“If you say anything, I will use this on you. Keep driving.”
The man nodded out of fear and averted his gaze from the Uchiha. Izuna wasn’t one to resort to violence with people who had no quarrels with him, but the actions of the other men had left him in a very irritable mood. He needed to get to safety fast in order to regroup with his brother. Word couldn’t get out that a deal with the Akatsuki had gone wrong.
Looking back to see if any cars were following them, Izuna couldn’t find anything that stuck out. That didn’t mean he was safe, but it did allow him a few minutes of peace in order to catch his breath.
Focusing on his breathing, he leaned his head back against the seat and closed his eyes as he focused on the next task on hand.
“You’ll need to drive towards the area near the port. Try not to draw any attention towards us.”
Izuna didn’t bother opening his eyes to see if the cab driver had obeyed his order, because the silence was enough to go off of in order to know that the man wasn’t stupid enough to go against what he had said.
‘Damn foreigners. They always screw things over for us.’ Izuna thought in his head, ‘Why did brother think this particular group would be of great use? They couldn’t even take me out properly.’
