Kanade didnât exactly have kissing experience either. She just went ahead with what she thought it should be like, feeling Tsubasa kiss back afterward. Between the two of themâŠit was a bit physically awkward. Neither seemed to know how much to press back, and their noses did press against each other at first. It got more comfortable as they went on, of course, but the emotions it made Kanade feel were consistent the whole time- such warmth, love, happiness as she only knew with Tsubasa.
Her eyes remained only on Tsubasaâs face when she began to speak, that same careful, quiet look on her face the whole time. This would change as she spoke more, though. A soft smile began to spread across Kanadeâs lips, clearly quite pleased with her partnerâs answer.
âHehâŠyou too, huh?â Kanade had occasionally thought about a moment like this too, having only now decided it would be one she would have to make happen herself. Of course, the reality far surpassed fantasy. It had been nothing short of fantastic.  âWhyâd I do it? WellâŠlots of people kiss the ones they love at the start of the New Year. I wanted to do the same.â
She gave a quick sigh. Though all her emotions bore such a brightness and certainty to them on the inside, she was always better at expressing them through action instead of words. Guess now was as good a time to learn as any.
âTsubasaâŠIâŠyou know me. I always dove headlong into things, regardless of the consequences. When I was certain about something, I acted on it. But there was always something about youâŠsomething I couldnât push myself enough on. I mean, I never missed a chance to spend time together with you, to sing together, to fight together, butâŠfor such a long time, there was something else. Something that, for some reason, I could never act on.â
She drew in a deep breath.  âAnd then I died. And I died with that regret- something I knew deep down I never wanted to do. But I didnât have to face that forever. I donât know what it was that brought be back, and I donât know if we ever willâŠbut I am not throwing away my shot at this. Iâve gotten a second chance at being with you, seizing those feelings that I never could before, and I want to take that chance right now.â
⫠Their first kiss was far from perfect. If anyone from the outside had seen it, they would say it was a pretty bad kiss. Neither of them knew were position their head, it was a little awkward and they had to admit, maybe a little uncomfortable at first... but that did not matter. Not to Tsubasa. It did not matter because she shared it with the person she loves the most â«
⫠If Tsubasa had been the one who make the first step... well, to be honest, it might have never happen. Tsubasa just got Kanade back not long ago, and she would certainly not want to loose her. If her best friend did not share the feelings, then things wouldnât be the same. They would be far from that really. Who knows if they could still even be close had this gone wrong â«
⫠So hearing that Kanade also loved Tsubasa... It just set her tears rolling down her cheeks once again. She was not expecting it. What was there to love? Tsubasa was cold and distant most of the time before Kanade died, and now ever since she got back, she was pretty cautious and slow as well. She was more open minded and all, but it still could not make up for her shy past. So why would she love her? It was something Tsubasa still wonders â«
⫠It was hard to focus. She was trying her best not to cry at her sweet words. At the confession her partner had given her just now, but she never stopped listening and paying attention â«
⫠Tsubasa smiled through the tears and she leaned in forward to burry her face on Kanadeâs chest as she hugged her tightly. She had to say something, and there was only one thing she could say... â«
⫠âI love you Kanade. I always want to be with youâ â«
