Japanese sculptor Yoshitoshi Kanemaki chisels these life-sized figurative sculptures out of giant pieces of camphor wood, a kind of evergreen. The strange pieces frequently involve two or more characters merged into a single form, which could been interpreted as commentary on mortality, or multiple personalities/perspectives.

Last night we camped right at treeline between Durango and Ouray several miles up a forest road. We made popcorn on our camp stove and had a movie night with this as our backdrop. Car life is not bad, guys.

Die Sommerferien sind gerade eine Woche rum, der Bus ist noch ausgeräumt. Ich hab schon wieder hummeln im Hintern und die nächsten wochenendausflüge geplant, denn endlich kommt der herbst. :-D Leider muss das willys- treffen für mich ausfallen, dieses we ist definitiv zu viel zu tun. :-(
