the thing with conclave 2024 is you watch it and you're engaged and interested and it's a good movie while you're watching. and then three months later it's still in your brain. you've used every word in the world to describe it from cunty to astronomical.

What amazes me the most is how it's a movie that works on every level.

On the most superficial level, you're entertained by the drama, the gossip and beefing; on a slightly deeper level, you're intrigued by the politics, the divisions within the Church, the role of tradition and modernisation in religion as an institution; on an even deeper level, you're touched by the contrasting roles of belief and pragmatism within each of the characters, the moral dilemma of not being ideal while serving high ideals and the facing of their own ambitions and doubts; and finally, on a sublimely spiritual level, you're inspired by the true Devotion present in some of the characters who do their best to cultivate Faith, Acceptance, Courage, Kindness and Truth within their hearts.

actually you all (me included) have to get out of this hole of self deprecation and self-perceived loneliness. no one is going to understand you 100%. we are all unique individuals with unique upbringings and unique experiences. no one hates you. everyone is figuring out how to forge their own path in this world and is trying their best. they have their own self to worry about. i really do believe if you treat the people around you with kindness and an open heart, you will receive the same. why would you not spend your life being optimistic about the people around you and your relationship with them? why would you want to waste your life away and let it pass in front of you because you believe that no one gets you? what good does that do?

how do you cope with change? i’ve done it time after time and it does not get easier. college is especially hard because i see these people all the time casually and then what? i’m supposed to not see them in person ever again?? how is that fair? life goes by too fast. i want everyone to know how much i love them and cherish them.
