not super happy with this. i feel like every time i look at it i find a new mistake. i’ve already revised this many times to the point where I feel like i’m just never going to be 100% happy with it.

really loving procreate atm!! i like the idea that i can literally draw anywhere - from my desk or my bed or outside (lol who are we kidding, stay inside guys)

so i took a screenshot of red velvet’s psycho music video cause aesthetic and i used that to practice the digital watercolour technique.

just watched ‘extraordinary you’ on netflix and can’t get over it. someone recommend kdramas to fill the void of finishing a tv show 😭

also drew this with procreate on the ipad 6th gen. created my own watercolour brush and I am so happy with the outcome! after multiple attempts I finally achieved something I’m happy with. could use some improvements but i’ll stick with this for now

i also had this baby pink gouache sitting in my drawer for ages. 16-year-old zyra would’ve loved this colour, but i’m into darker colours atm, tho i’m glad i had the excuse to finally use it 💖

yellow is definitely one of the colours of this generation and i can’t blame them 😍

i used to dislike yellow cause it was always too bright and blinding, but the deep yellows have slowly taken over my life and instagram feed and i’m okay with that!

i’ve got a few projects lined up which i’m really excited about. fingers crossed i actually get myself organised enough to see these projects thru.

also shoutout to my friend for reaching out to me and paying a not-so-starving artist to create some illustrations 😍 i’m in love with how this turned out especially after two failed attempts 😅

i really just used these soft colours cause i had some left over gouache that i didn’t want but it would’ve been a waste to throw out.

whilst i love pastel colours and i adore artists who use them, i tend to gravitate towards a darker/bolder colour palette, hence my love for black ink 😌

idk if you guys have noticed, but i took a long as break on social media, which also meant that i took a break from drawing. this made me question lots of things. idk what i’d do tbh if not drawing. other creative pursuits are amazing but for me, they’re just not the same.

so i made my own palette a while back and i’ve basically only been using these colours to paint the skin and hair.

everything right now is pretty experimental with a stronger focus on techniques rather than concepts. hopefully in the near future i can go back and explore various ideas with this new direction in style and colours
