”Oh, I am not sure I know. You know, the rivals one never intends to make. Maybe a few of those who feel… threatened by my success.” She kept a faint grip on his hand as they went along, the smile on her lips twitching a bit.

She took a deep breath, slow and shaky. She looked up at him and she knew she hadn’t fallen apart yet, and she couldn’t bear to. The facade was cracking, she knew that, but she could only hope it would be enough that it hadn’t shattered.

“My acting career has had much struggling to go with it. I’m not one of those fakes, the ones who try to convince you they’ve no faults at all.” She smiles with her teeth, and a bit of the nervousness went away.

"I wasn't expecting any less from you."

Blink and you'd miss the way his eyes sighed -- his eyebrows furrowed -- before it was quickly replaced with his usual haughtiness. A shame, really. He would have adored the challenge and the chance to see just how much someone was willing to stand up to him. And he was so sure she would be befitting of the title -- at least initially -- but well her fear started to just the slightest.

Cracks. What should have been small, insignificant seams had begun to take apart her carefully crafted facade. The young actress had done well to hide her nervousness but, well, he was an observant man. However, he didn't want the opportunity and his short time with her to go to waste. So he concocted an idea..

"Well, Madamoiselle, I have both good news and bad news for you. The bad news is that, as lovely as you are, I still have a job to do." He raised a hand to her face, the trips of his fingers caressing the skin of her cheek and brushing away strands that had befallen against her face. "I trust that you understand that well. But, truthfully, I have ample time to do so. I was given a week's time to complete your assassination. And as your benevolent executioner, I see that it's only fair that you get your final days of life."

Was he really allowing his target to have a chance to run away or sway him into turning a blind eye? Was he really allowing her to find a few moments of peace before her supposed end or.. was there a hidden sadism that even he didn't know about. 'Benevolent' was not the word most would use but whether or not he was being genuine was up in the air.

"Granted that you wouldn't be leaving my sight. Can't have you trying to escape, now.. But how does that sound?"

A bit of Senka’s nervousness melted away at his words. Her lips twitched with a smile and she gave him that same doe-eyed look she’d give to anybody— maybe just out of shock when she was surprised, or maybe on purpose to married men. She started to twirl her hair around her finger, doing a complete 180° switch from the half-concealed nervous wreck she was a few minutes ago.

Her grip on his hand remained light, but she tightened it a little in intrigue. She leaned in towards him, a mix of fear, apprehension, and happiness all shooting through her veins. She was afraid of what was to come, worried of how he’d handle the immediate future, but mostly happy that she wouldn’t die painfully or soon or any way like that.

“Madamoiselle, huh? I can be your lady, just for a while. Do you really want to kill me? So badly, you want to drive a knife into my poor old heart? I am grateful for your mercy, but also… I seem to find this… very objectionable. I suppose I overstepped in thinking you would ever think of me after this time. Maybe I could think of you, and never let the memory of this night go, if you would only let me.”

She looks down. Her deep, calmer breaths were quiet, and he could barely notice her chest heave. She was getting better at the ‘control’ stuff. In a sense, she was a professional boxer, but this was a dirty fight in an alleyway. She didn’t know what to accept. No script, no lines, no ‘lights, camera, action!’ to comfort her.

In truth, she was maybe being half-sincere, but as the night went on, she felt more and more of a drive to keep this on. She wanted to survive, and she was intrigued about the man and the possible small amount of empathy she could juice out of him with doll-eyes and sweet words.

Zelutjoskriva & Senka

It’s been about two or three months since Senka and Zelutjoskriva met, and they’re pretty good friends now. Senka thinks it’s a little odd to be regularly in touch with some powerful half-Seraph, but she doesn’t mind their differences. They’d occassionally see each other around, but it was mostly Senka insisting to him that they hung out sometime, and today they were going to. They had made plans to have a dinner at some cafe Senka had picked out.

Maybe a bit after the actual agreed upon time, Senka pulled up to the quiet little restaurant in the same old Beetle she’s always had. She took a quick look around the front, smiling as she noticed the new decor. She hadn’t been here in quite a while. She walks inside happily and sees Zelutjoskriva towards the back.

“Hey, Zelutjo!” She exclaims loudly, waving and rushing over. She has a goofy smile on her face as she sits down across from him and sets down her things. “How are you doing?” She said, seeming very interested in his answer.

A tall, mysterious man wearing an emotionless bronze mask is appreciating the lovely sounds of summer cicadas. He carries a glaive and two firearms. He seems to be partially covered in the blood of his targets. It's a fairly hot summer and he has decided to find some shade from the blazing sun. He notices an abandoned wooden cottage and decides to take shelter there for now. This place is where old skeletons lie in their positions of fear and agony. A grandparent, a mother, a father, and a child. Some horrible beast left them to rot in eternal silence. They saw no worth in the bones of their untimely victims. The inside has garnered some pesky rodents and insects as well as unmaintained plant overgrowth. Family pictures and paintings are torn and slashed by claws. Glass picture frames and cabinets are smashed and shattered. Broken porcelain china can be seen on the floor surrounding the dining room table. Blood can be seen in the entrance, kitchen, and dining room. He doesn't seem to be bothered by the sight.

He's thinking about making himself some balm rose-hip tea, but that would be foolish in a filthy place like this. The intimidating man enters the living room. The living is almost untouched besides from a few bestial scratches and infesting insects. The coffee table was on its side and the skeleton of the one of the adults was nearby, which is indicted by the grisly blood splatters. He adjusts the position of the coffee table and sits on the cleanest side of the couch, which is to the left. He proceeds to fix his selective fire, muzzle-loaded submachine long gun called the Dicentra Sulphur WJ6Z4-239057. It started to jam during his last battle and he's taking this opportunity to deal with the issue.

In the distance, a faint rumbling can be heard as a small car approaches the little cottage. Inside the vintage, pale blue Beetle, Senka turns up the radio and hums contentedly, innocently thinking she’s on a trip to visit her grandparent’s old cottage. She hadn’t seen them in a while and wanted to surprise them with a visit, and since the area was only an hour or two away from her home, she didn’t think much of it.

Senka takes a left turn and pulls up in the cottage’s general vicinity. Her face fell when she noticed its abandoned status, and she stared hard at the wreckage around. The messy bits of wood chipped from the walls and left on the grass outside made her cringe as she got up out of the car.

‘What’s happened to grandmama’s house…?’ She thought, and a pit formed in her stomach. ‘Maybe I got the address wrong,’ She tried to reason with the sight before her, but all she could think was the worst.

She noticed Zelutjoskriva inside and made an involuntary jostle back toward her car.

‘Who the hell is that guy…?!’

He heard the sound of a nearby car, while he was fixing his jammed Dicentra Sulphur WJ6Z4-239057. The music emitted from the vintage, pale blue Beetle caught him off guard. He lets out a heavy sigh and quickly, yet patiently finishes what's left of his most trustworthy and valuable firearm. He sits there for a moment. He's unsure if outside this abandoned cottage is either friend or foe, human or beast. He stands up from the old, mostly maggot-infested couch and stretches. He takes the Dicentra Sulphur WJ6Z4-239057 off the coffee table, hiding it inside his glossy black cloak and holding onto it with her left hand.

"Ooohh fuck. Why did I do this to myself?" he quietly mumbles to himself, almost forgetting about something that's obviously important to him.

He left his glaive and large rosewood cross nearby. He honestly feels stupid for doing that. He decides that it's the best choice to get them as soon as possible. Who knows what might be out there.

He looks for a box of matches, hurriedly scavenging throughout the floor he's currently on. Luckily for him, he finds them on the kitchen counter. He takes off his mask, letting it hang around his neck like a bizzare necklace. He takes a pack of cigars from his trouser pocket, taking one out before putting the case back where it belongs. He opens the box of matches and takes whatever is left, immediately lighting one of them. He places the cigar in his mouth and pulls the lit match to it almost like it's some sort of magnet. Once done, he throws the match in the sink and proceeds to leave this wretched place. Before leaving, he closely observes the person with the car, ensuring that they aren't a potential threat.

”Hey!” Senka shouted, coming away from her car and towards the cottage again. “Hey, you! Hey youuuuuu~!” She exclaimed again, the second time in a singsong voice. She gripped her car keys tightly, slipping them in between her knuckles to attack him if so needed.

‘Who the hell is that guy? And why is he so tall?’

She started to approach the masked Nephilim, smiling out of fear as if it was the only thing she could do. She started to hum musically, as if attempting to beckon him with a siren song that masked her fear.

He can tell that there is something wrong with this girl. A part of him doesn't want to leave. However, he has no choice but to leave this place behind. He already has a fantastic reputation at the Venator's Wardrobe. He wouldn't want to make himself look like a lazy fool mooching off of their bounty hunter profits.

He takes a deep breath, letting the stench of this abandoned cottage go once he exhaled. He also takes a puff of his cigar for good measure. He silently moves towards the entrance, cautiously and gently opening the door. He wouldn't want to easily startle her and accidentally set off her flight or fight mode. Once opened, he freezes and looks down to see the girl, exhaling a bunch of cigar smoke in the process. The smoke has a weirdly minty smell.

"This place isn't good to wander about. Some horrid beast attacked this family a loooong while ago. It's best to leave. I'm unsure if it's still lurking about the surrounding area. Pesky Æylphitus like that can be quite a tricky catch. They're excellent hunters, always patiently waiting to pounce on their prey. Stay on high alert and you should be fine," the enigmatic man explains with a voice of serious calmness.

She looks up at him and smiles. “Oh, why are you here?” She smiles wider. “And where is my sweet grandmother?” She asked. She is putting on an act to appeal to him, maybe get him to help her. On the inside, she feels as if she is dying. There is a burning pit in her stomach, telling her, ‘get out while you can!’ but she ignores the paranoia and carries on.

“This cottage was my grandparents’, and I demand to inquire of their whereabouts, sir!” She said, stomping a bit. She looked up at him and gave a cunning smile. “Oh, please, sir?”

He's starting to think that this girl is an anxious brat, especially when she started stomping a bit. He isn't easily fooled by her off-putting smile. He takes another puff of his cigar before politely answering her questions.

"I was here to briefly relax and get some shade from the blazing sun. I took the opportunity to fix something of value to me. I find summer to be pleasant, but I don't want my flesh and insides to be fried from the unbearable heat. Within this cottage, there are three adults and one child. I presume that they're a family of sorts. It's quite depressing that their lives were taken away from them so brutally," he reassuringly replies. "I unfortunately don't know who your grandmother is. I also don't know the whereabouts of your beloved grandparents and their cottage."

He tries to hold back a tired yawn. He didn't get much sleep last night and the exhaustion is slowly creeping up on him. However, he has no time to rest. He has a duty to fulfill.

"I hope that satisfies your questions."

”Sir, could you..” She looks down for a moment and tries to make herself look as cute and helpless as possible. “Could you help me? Please? I don’t know how I’ll possibly get back to her, and, I don’t have anywhere to stay. Besides, I’m not the completely dumb blonde type. I could help you or something.”

She smiles, this time a bit more geniunely. She really did hope to get on his good side and maybe get something out of this encounter.

He seems to be a bit suspicious of her, but he tries not to let it get to him.

"I don't mind helping you find your grandmother's cottage. She must be worried about you," he responds with a brief smile. "It's honestly the best thing I can do to remedy your situation. Getting lost is such a nuisance. That has happened to me a few times..."

He proceeds to leave the cottage before stopping himself from going any further. He turns around and faces Senka. If he wants to help her, it would be idiotic to leave her behind so easily. He patiently waits for her, not uttering a single word in the process.

”Oh my! Thank you very much.” She said sweetly, smiling and starting to follow him. “I suppose I may have gotten the address incorrect. Silly me…” She said, looking all around the area.

She put her keys away into her purse and tried to keep up with him— though she did walk awkwardly to avoid getting her expensive boots all muddy. The actress hummed contentedly after a moment of walking with him.

“I suppose we should introduce ourselves, huh? I’m Senka. Senka Fujimori, the Japanese actress. But… I don’t know if you’ve heard of me.” She looked down a moment, nervous but hiding it well.

He continues to walk towards where he left his glaive and large rosewood cross. He's confident that they have remained untouched. He'll never let anyone get away with theft. They're valuable items that should not be abused as silly playthings. They aren't for the sick and twisted. Their original purpose is to uplift goodness and truth. He doesn't care if he gets muddy or drenched in bestial blood. His duty is to stalk and hunt down beasts in the name of retribution.

"I've never met a Japanese actress before," he coldly replied, while treading before her.

He takes another puff of his cigar, enjoying the minty aftertaste. It's quite refreshing for him. He stops and turns around to face her.

"I'm Zelutjoskhriva. You can say I'm a contracted pest-killer for the Venator's Wardrobe. They eradicate destructive Æylphitus in the name of protecting the weak and vulnerable," he introduces himself in a weirdly distant, yet handsome voice.

He goes back to walking.

”Huh. What’s an Æylphitus again? Are you like an alien or something? No offense though, you could still totally get a few modeling gigs with those pretty shoulders. So you’re like a pesticide guy? Or an assassin? Probably an assassin.” She giggles. “I’m not too smart, am I?” She tilts her head a bit and laughs.

“What weak and vulnerable are you talking about? Other aliens? You’re a. . .” She keeps bombarding him with questions, curious. She doesn’t mean to be annoying, but it comes off that way a little bit.

These bombarding questions are slowly getting to him. Zelutjoskhriva tries to suppress his boiling rage and uneasiness. Now, isn't the time to make enemies and go berserk.

"I'm a Nephilim, which is a type of Æyldzritchon. An Æyldzritchon consists of hybridised Æylphitus and unknown Æylphitus species. Æylphitus is a broad term for many mysterious beings such as angels, animal shapeshifters, and extraterrestrials," he explains, getting closer to the location of his glaive and large rosewood cross. "I'm an assassin who protects humanity from Æylphitus who are trying to wipe them out."

He finally arrives at his destined location. They were patiently waiting for them. Nobody tried to steal them, which was the best possible outcome that can ever happen. The large rosewood cross has two halved beings with a single polished stone on their chests, one white and one black. Zelutjoskhriva waits for Senka, letting his cigar burn out before crushing it with his left foot.

”You…” She took a small pause. “protect… humanity? Well, uhm… I don’t know what to say to that. But thank you.” She said, and she seemed to mean it for once. She took a moment to look around their new surroundings, scared but also intrigued.

“… Where are we, Zelutjoskriva?” She said, straining to look up at him. The height difference between them was quite dramatic. She was some tiny human in the presence of some half-angel mythical being! She almost couldn’t believe it. “And what’s that you have there? … I don’t mean to ask a lot of questions, I’m sorry.”

"You're welcome I guess," he responds to her well-meaning gratitude.

He's never had anyone say thank you for protecting their species before. It felt strange, but at least they have something to be grateful for. He uses the sling of his Dicentra Sulphur WJ6Z4-239057, so he wouldn't have to carry it around with his left hand. With the back shoulder strap of the eerie cross, he wraps it around the upper part of his torso. He picks up his trusty glaive with his right hand before answering Senka's question.

"I stopped by here to pick up a couple of important items. It would be unwise to let them stay here unattended for much longer. Thieves can be the absolute worst. Now, that's done... let's go find your grandmother."

She smiled at him more geniunely. “Is it hard to protect a whole species? It seems like it would be.” She started walking a little faster, excited to find her grandmother. Senka looked up at the sky and noticed some pleasantly shaped clouds.

‘That cloud right there looks like a bunny.’ She somtimes got distracted easily. His response, whatever it was, would probably go in one ear and out the other.

Senka looked around at the sky and at everything, feeling glad about the prettiness of the world. She seemed to be in a better mood in comparison to earlier.

Zelutjoskhriva walks close to her, ensuring that nobody tries to harm her. He hopes that her beloved grandmother is doing alright. He can only hope that no dastardly Æylphitus decided to attack the poor old lady. Just thinking about it is making her nerves flare up with understandable fury. Why does half of his brethren hold such deep hatred towards a pathetic, yet important species? Maybe one day, when the stars align just right, they'll reveal the secretive truth.

Noticing that Senka is distracted by the sight of the sky, he decides to not answer her question. She's appreciating something and it would be rude to kill the sweet moment. He briefly looks up at the sky, admiring the clouds. They possess such interesting shapes, playing its usual pareidolia games. It's a pleasant and awe-inspiring breath of fresh air. He rarely has time to appreciate the legitimate wonders of nature. His duty is about killing and nothing else. He wishes that his daughter can be here with him.

”Where are we? I mean, if you know. I really want to see my grandmother. She’s a really nice lady, by the way! I think she’d like you. She wouldn’t mind that you’re an alien, and also really tall. How tall are you? You make me look insect-sized…” She laughs. “Do I ask a lot of questions?”

She keeps walking. She slows down for a moment to rummage through her bag and then reapply her lipstick. Also inside her purse, he noticed, was her wallet, phone (which had a few pictures inside the case), and a few other necessities. The purse itself was large and made from nice material, and generally expensive looking.

“Can you tell me more about your species? I mean, you’re a little scary looking. But obviously, looks don’t matter. I mean, they matter a little. But it’s not that bad to be scary looking.”

"I'm unfamiliar with this place. My higher-ups didn't send me here. I would know if they did. They provide us with a sufficient amount of information about our targeted areas," he begins to respond, starting to get slightly annoyed by her bombardment of questions. "I'm 7’ 8” and please stop calling me an alien. It's highly disrespectful to call any Æylphitus that. The Eyxuthotszials wouldn't mind though. Consider yourself lucky that I'm not the kind to instantly rip your head off over a measly insult."

He pops his back and lets out a yawn, covering his mouth while doing so. He pauses for a brief amount before explaining his species.

"Nephilim are the hybridised offspring of angels and humans. Because reproduction between angels and humans are forbidden, females are forcibly reincarnated into harpies or sirens. For the men, it's either a serpent or harpy. We obtain certain abilities from our angelic parents, while being born with certain human weaknesses. I've been told that the older generations primarily relied on animalistic instincts and committed heinous acts. The newer generations like myself have been mostly spared from such an unfortunate fate."

“Oh, I’m sorry. I mean… That’s really interesting. It’s nice that you care so much about humans. Why, though? You could eat us or something. I don’t think I’d taste good, though. I’m mostly bones.” She takes a moment to think about that.

Coming down a steep, rocky stretch of land, she stumbles a few times as they walk. ‘Ouch! I wish I had a better sense of balance…’ “I mean, I don’t think these big, strong, non-human creatures would really have any need to protect humans unless they were like, compassionate, and really wanted to. Is that the case? I… Wow. Thank you.”

She giggled a bit and quickly came closer. “Can I hug you?”

"I don't see the point in causing more unnecessary harm. It's better if we tried to maintain a sort of equilibrium. All life is precious and it's truly horrible to see sentient beings take the lives of overs for selfish reasons. So, you're welcome and appreciate what you still have in the meantime," he replies, giving her a pleasant smile. "Not all Æylphitus are cruel and incapable of true emotion. Some prefer to hide their feelings, while others clearly don't understand them and only have their instincts to comfort their emotional needs."

He puts his emotionless bronze mask that's hanging around his neck back on. It's difficult to tell what he truly feels now, but he seems to be stunned by her ask of hugging him. He rarely gets hugs from strangers.

"Ummmm... of course?"

He isn't entirely sure on what to make of it, but goes with it anyways. He doesn't want to make the moment awkward.

”Yay!” She hugged him tightly. “You didn’t seem like you’d enjoy being hugged. You don’t seem very cuddly at all. But I can help fix that! I love warm hugs!” She pat his back, looking up at him fondly. She barely reached his stomach, his great height made her look quite short.

“I love hugging my friends. Is it safe to say we’re friends now? I hope so. I really love my friends. A lot. Wait, how old are you? Do Nephilim age like humans? I’m twenty three human years. Will I have to use a calculator to find your human age or something? Like a vampire?”

"I secretly like hugs. I'm only comfortable doing it with friends, family or those who truly need one."

Zelutjoskhriva is quite self-conscious about the fact that he's much taller than her. Senka is like an ant compared to his beastly size. He takes a deep breath and hugs her back. It's been a while since he did this with someone. It genuinely feels nice to have some sort of physical contact.

"I guess we're friends," he says, still unsure about his friendly feelings that surround her. "Nephilim age differently. They stop physically aging once they reach middle adulthood. I'm currently 147-years-old."

“Oh… I don’t know if you know, but 70-something is usually the limit for humans. And they physically age all through their lives. You know? Twenty-something is probably like a baby for a Nephilim, but it’s an adult age for a human! I mean, how much do you know about them? Anything is okay, I mean… I don’t know that much about your species… What do I even call you? A half-angel? Just ‘Nephilim’? I know you don’t like ‘alien’, so…”

She blushed a bit. She wasn’t the brightest, not at all, but she tried to be pleasant and accommodating to him. She smiled weakly as she looked up at him.

“This height difference is so not fair.”

"I'm well-aware about the average lifespan of a human. I'm very familiar with humanity and the Æylphitus," Zelutjoskhriva softly responds. "You may simply refer to me as a Nephilim."

He's noticed that she was slightly blushing, but tried to ignore it.

"We should continue looking for your grandmother."

”Okay.” She said, and they kept walking. A moment of comfortable silence went by before she spoke again. “So, you’re an assassin, right? That’s… interesting, I guess. That’d probably make you rich, but I don’t see you as the type to take on a job like that for the money. How does all of it work? I’m.. curious.” She said with a comforting smile.

Senka seemed to geniunely want to know more about him. She seemed very excited to allow this newly found friendship to blossom. For once, the actress wasn’t putting on a show.

‘He’s so sweet. Maybe I shouldn’t have judged him for being so spooky-looking.’

He began to walk with her once again, while being on the look-out for a potential cottage. He sincerely hopes that they won't be caught up in a random monster attack. Zelutjoskhriva hates it when that sort of thing happens.

"Sorry to inform you, but most of the information about my duties and the Venator's Wardrobe is confidential. I wouldn't want to put your life in danger. Those outside the organisation are only allowed to know so much. By releasing such fragile information, people will have their memories wiped away or they're killed, permanently silencing them," he explains, feeling kind of sad having to inform her about this.

”Oh. Well, that’s okay. I mean, my boss is kind of crazy too. But not like that, he’s just a creepy old man who takes care of my acting contracts. I don’t really like him, but I’ve had worse problems before. You know?” She said, and laughed a little. She tried to keep up, but it was hard with how much shorter her legs were compared to his.

“Ooh, I can’t wait to see my grandmother! She’s a really sweet lady, and she makes really good dumplings and everything. Did I tell you? My family’s from this little town in Primorsky Krai, Russia, it’s really nice there, and—. . .” Senka goes on, talking a mile a minute. She seems to talk a lot.

Zelutjoskhriva simply nods what she just told him. He met a lot of insane and creepy people throughout his life, especially during his time working with the Venator's Wardrobe. He notices that Senka is having a hard time catching up with him and tries his best to slow down. Zelutjoskhriva is struggling to keep up with all of this talk about her loveable grandmother and interesting family.

He doesn't have much of a family. His mother was turned into a harpy after he and his twin brother were born. His father didn't want anything to do with them and was raised by the village he was born in. Once Zelutjoskhriva grew older, he became a father. However, his daughter mysteriously went missing and is on a desperate hunt to find her.

She looked over and noticed his confusion. “Oh, sorry, do I talk a lot? That’s kind of my thing.” She smiled and grabbed onto his arm so she could keep up with him. “Do you mind? Sorry…”

Senka was starting to get tired, but she didn’t see a place to rest anywhere nearby. She started to look him up and down, noticing the Nephilim’s non-human features. She started to rest her head against his arm.

‘Ugh, I’m tired. These shoes really— Damn, I feel really short next to this guy.’

"It's alright. Sometimes talkative people help to break the eerie silence. I can only describe it as a weirdly nice change of pace," he politely responds, smiling behind his mask.

He notices that she's grabbed onto his arm. Zelutjoskhriva doesn't mind this sudden physical contact and simply nods. It's the least of his worries. He's also been made aware that Senka is starting to get tired from all of this walking. He briefly scratches the back of his head as he doesn't see any place to rest.

”I wonder what time it is. I used to be able to tell by looking at the sky, but I’m not -that- crafty anymore.” She shrugs. “I feel like I’ve been saying too much. Tell me about your mysterious past or something. Please?”

She laughs a bit at the cliche sound of her request. “I mean, if that’s not weird to ask or anything.” She was awkward yet talkative, and that seemed hard to pull off.

He pulls out his trusty pocket watch and proceeds to check the time.

"It's currently 5:21 PM," he states clearly.

He puts it back in his left trouser pocket and lets out a heavy sigh. He honestly doesn't want to talk about his past. It's the most vulnerable part about him and he's afraid that he'll be ostracised.

"I don't want to talk about my past. It's too risky," he coldly responds, partially looking down at the earthy ground.

“Aw, okay. I don’t really mind. I mean, I can tell you some of my stories. I got into really crazy stuff when I was a teenager-. . .” Senka starts talking about some random story, not something you’d pay attention to, but nice background noise.

She held on to his arm and looked at him fondly, very excited to be so close to some majestic half-angel creature. She kept yapping about some story about something that’d happened very long ago, just talking mindlessly to keep the conversation from falling into awkward silence.

He enjoys this human form of breaking the silence. Zelutjoskhriva has a habit of keeping things to himself. He doesn't want much sympathy and ain't in the mood to piss people off. Senka seems to be intriguing. He has a lot of respect for women and the matriarchy. He would feel stupid to tell her off and stay silent. If a woman wants to speak, then she should be allowed to do so without masculine interference. Chauvinistic views are grotesque and hurtful. It only widens the gap between masculinity and femininity.

While she was continuously chatting about her unique stories, Zelutjoskhriva would occasionally nod. He didn't want to look as though he was uninterested. He wanted to show that he cared and was paying close attention.

”Are you Swedish or something? You’re so quiet, come on. What brought you to that cottage anyway?” She said, finally catching his attention again. She started to twirl her hair mindlessly, getting a bit bored.

‘Oh my God, the stars look so pretty. Kind of like his eyes. Oh, stop that, Kseniya, you’re being a sap.. But— No.. I have to be.. normal!’ She thought. She tried to keep it all to herself, she really did try. Senka had a habit of saying things that were best left corny little thoughts.

"An Æylphitus isn't bound to no nationality or ethnicity unless they were originally human. So, no. I'm not Swedish. I've never been to Sweden. I wonder what it's like," he begins to respond to Senka's questions. "I'm currently on the hunt for a malicious criminal with lycanthropy. My higher-ups said that they might be connected to a vampiric noble family. The abandoned cottage was a brief break from a previous encounter. My Dicentra Sulphur got jammed and I knew I had to fix it immediately."

Zelutjoskhriva brushes his hair aside and decides to take off his bronze mask once again. This heat is killing him and he highly dislikes it.

”Are you gonna kill another ethereal being right in front of me? Am I gonna have to get my memory wiped or something?” She asked, with a laugh. “Do you want some water? You look hot. I mean-! Not like that! I meant- like- the—“ She looks down. “Whoops..”

She looks down at the grass again out of nervousness. Compared to him, she’s a lot closer to it. “I didn’t mean it like that. Sorry…”

"Lycanthropes and vampires aren't ethereal creatures like angels," Zelutjoskhriva chillingly replies. "An Æylphitus murder before your eyes won't get you in serious trouble. It would be foolish to do so. People need to understand that not all Æylphitus can be trusted."

He pauses for a moment, slightly blushing by what she just said. He knows that she didn't mean that. However, his brain is betraying him and he's desperately holding it back. He can't let his instincts win. He tries to think of something else. Maybe he should have some refreshing water?

"I'm good. I appreciate you asking though," he says, deciding now isn't the time to do so. "Also, it's completely fine. You all make stupid mistakes."

”Thanks. You’re really sweet, protecting humans like that! You’re like a magical knight in shining armor for all of us!” She said, and she suddenly hugged him.

“You’re my favorite ethereal creature that I found in the middle of the woods!” She exclaimed happily, not realizing how crazy that sounded.

Zelutjoskhriva tries not to blush as he instinctively hugs her back. He rarely gets compliments from strangers. When it does happen, it's often to play with his emotions or some other selfish reason. He's already in a romantic relationship and doesn't want to end up doing something stupid with Senka. He values his faithfulness and loyalty in such relationships.

"Uuummmmmm... Thank you for the compliments..." he weakly says, biting his lower lip.

”Uh-huh! Your skin is soft. Do you have a skincare routine? I can show you mine, half the products aren’t that expensive and it only takes thirty minutes. Is skincare something random Nephilim assassins get involved in, or no?” She pouts a bit. “Please, it’ll be fun!” She talks really quickly and clearly, like an auctioneer.

“You’re welcome, by the way. Did I say that? I don’t have a very good memory.” She said. She was kind of aloof and honestly stupid.

He's honestly surprised by what she just spewed out. His skin often feels weirdly rough. On the other hand, the patches of thick bird feathers are extremely soft.

"My skincare routine isn't phenomenal and I don't do it all the time because of my job. I just take simple showers or baths and use expensive body wash that softens my skin," he briefly explains. "I don't mind if you show me this skincare routine of yours. Maybe I might find something new in the process? Let's see..."

His neck feels itchy and takes a moment to scratch it before talking.

"You didn't say 'you're welcome' before."

He honestly doesn't care as it's not something to get easily upset about.

“You kind of feel like a bird. But in a good way. I don’t mean to bodyshame my favorite ethereal creature.” She jumped up to pat his shoulder. “Why are you so tall? This is so not fair.”

She gave a playful pout and laughed a bit at the extreme height difference. “We’re really different, huh? But that’s okay. Different is nice.”

"What is body-shaming? I don't think I heard that term before," he asks, slightly tilting his head.

Even if it's something bad, he'll probably not give a single care in the entire world. He bends down, so the height difference wouldn't be too much of a problem. His size is quite intimidating. Maybe that's why some people have a hard time approaching him?

"We are indeed different. A life full of difference is better than total sameness. That's why utopias could never stand a chance in real life. Society is full of unique individuals who have their own stories to tell."

”I agree! You’re so sweet, you know? Like I said… a big, strong knight in shining armor for us humans. Maybe I’m a little sappy. But I don’t really care, you know? I think you’re sweet! You care about humans even if you don’t have to, and that’s nice…” She smiled brightly. She seemed like this short, human, big ball of energy.

She pats his shoulder happily. “Anyway…” She starts talking a mile a minute again, but it’s not really anything to pay attention to.

Zelutjoskhriva gave her a handsomely joyous smile and gently held her right hand. He stops bending and pops his back to prevent uneasy soreness.

"I think you're very sweet too."

He pays attention to what she's yapping about. Zelutjoskhriva feels inclined to do so, it's good to utilise his good listening skills. He finds her presence to be soothing. His work often forced him to take the lone wolf route with occasional team-ups thrown in. She isn't working for the Venator's Wardrobe, but he appreciates it nonetheless.

”…Where are we? Oh my gosh, are we lost?” She starts talking really fast. “That’s like my worst fear, getting lost in the woods with nobody to find you and scary animals all over the place! That’s literally worse than getting stranded in the ocean, because at least you have a chance go be found but you won’t, and— Oh my God, are we lost? Are we gonna die? I mean, I always have food, but it’s the kind you eat when you’re hungry but you’re also trying to stay skinny, so low in calories, so it won’t even be that useful, and, I don’t think I could make—“

She keeps talking really, really fast, getting more and more panicked by the second. “Ohmigod. Say we’re not gonna die. Please?”

Zelutjoskhriva takes a deep breath in order to calm his nerves. She's making him all worked up and doesn't want to accidentally make the situation worse. He slightly squeezes her right hand.

"We've gone deeper into this unknowable woods. So, you can say that we got lost. However, we must keep matching forward. We have no other choice. We shouldn't keep your grandmother waiting any longer," he responds with a bit of uneasiness. "I'll make sure nobody harms you. Nothing shall get past me."

A weirdly peaceful cacophony of animalistic sounds and rustling leaves can be heard throughout the forest. He hasn't heard any off-putting sounds as of now, which is a decent sign. He isn't in a particularly good enough mood to deal with one. Eradicating pests can be an absolute chore!

She takes a deep breath and calms down a little bit, though she is still a little shaken. “Okay, fine. We’re not gonna die. We’re fine.” She takes another deep breath. “Okay.” She laughs a bit.

“I guess I get a little carried away sometimes… What’s that face? Did you hear that? ‘Cause I just heard some weird animal noises and I’m like, not vibing with how creepy it was. Oh my God! Is it like… another alien? I mean! Eucalyptus or whatever species you are.”

He closely observes his current environment. He's only seeing the regular critters that can be found in large forests like this. There are squirrels, owls, foxes, white-tailed deers, rabbits, and presumably more. There isn't anything that's sticking out like a sore thumb to him as of now.

"It's Nephilim, not Eucalyptus. Also, stop calling Æylphitus aliens please. I already told you about the consequences. I genuinely hope that there isn't one nearby..." he says, trying not to come off as agitated. "We should keep looking for your grandmother's cottage and try not to get distracted."

”Oh, look! This looks like a path, like someone was here on purpose.” She said, pointing. “Sorry, by the way. I’m not very good with names and stuff.” She scratches her head, thinking. She sits down on the grass and looks around.

“Gosh, I’m tired. I hope we don’t see another Æylphitus. That sounds like a lot of work to kill.” She said, shaking her head and then laughing a bit. “Sorry.”

He notices the path and silently nods. He sincerely hopes it isn't a deadly trap or it leads to nowhere. Zelutjoskhriva is getting exhausted from all of this walking. He sits next to Senka on the grass and lets out a partial sigh.

"It's fine. People can only remember so much," he replies in a forgiving tone.

The numerous trees of this forest are of greater size compared to them. They're like intruding insects who don't have a clear way of escape.

She looks down at her feet for a moment. ‘I shouldn’t have dressed up so nicely. We’ve been walking all afternoon. Ugh… I’m so, so tired.’ She gave a small sigh before looking at him again.

“I think my grandmother’s cottage is nearby, okay? I kind of remember this path from somewhere. Faintly, but still. I haven’t been around here in a while. Have you?” She asked. “Ugh, I’m so thirsty. And hungry. But it’s okay, I’m sure my grandmother will have something fixed for us…”

"I've never been to this place. It's strangely labyrinthine. Unfamiliarity can create a messy rat maze," Zelutjoskhriva simply responds, looking at the sky through the dense trees.

His stomach begins to grumble and his mouth is feeling a little dry. He proceeds to speak again.

"Me too. I hope your grandmother will have something refreshing for us to drink and consume."

She hops up again and shows him around the path. She seems to be more familiar with it than even she expected. She led him down the path and into a more spacious clearing, where they saw another cottage.

It was small and made of some unsually coloured wood, with two stories and lots of decor on the outside. There was a bit of moss growing on the roof, and mushrooms blossoming in their growth surrounding the place. It had a strangely familiar feeling to it, like you knew you’d been there before, but you didn’t remember when. The whole place was a comforting, pleasant sight— imperfect and sweet.

Senka smiled at the sight of the cottage. “This is it, I know it.. Mm, I can smell those flowers, it’s just like memories of my childhood… Thank you for bringing me here. I can’t believe I’m here.”

Zelutjoskhriva followed her like a loyal and obedient dog. The dense trees become less and less frightening until the path finally opens up to a cottage. This must be her grandmother's place. He feels relieved by this sight and can't help but happily smile. Zelutjoskhriva politely looks down to face Senka.

"You're very welcome. I hope you have a wonderful stay at your grandmother's," he replies in a soft and pleasant manner.

”Come on! Don’t you want to stay and come in for a while? I told you, she’s a really nice lady and she would totally not mind that I’m bringing a guest or anything. You can come in.” She said, fixing her collar and quickly running towards the inside.

“Don’t hit your head on the doorway, though!” She exclaimed as she went past, and she made her way down the path. She knocked at the door and waited patiently, an excited smile plastered on her face.

"Oh yeah... I almost forgot about that. My brain is all about work and finding something important..." he says, pausing for a brief moment.

He really misses his daughter, his only child. He would like to be reunited with her one day. Zelutjoskhriva follows her to the cottage and patiently waits on the porch. He wonders how her grandmother would react to a Nephilim.

”My grandma’s really nice. And she’s also blind, so I don’t think she’s going to mind that you’re an Æylphitus.” Senka waited a moment for her grandmother to open the door, and she did.

Senka greeted her grandmother and they spoke softly in Russian to each other for a moment before the old woman welcomed Senka and Zelutjoskriva into the cottage, sitting them down at the table and pouring tea for them. Senka and her grandmother talked the whole time, Senka occasionally translating something her grandmother said and telling Zelutjoskriva.

Senka was so, so delighted to be here like this. She hadn’t seen her grandmother since she was maybe fourteen, and she was so excited to talk and catch up with her. Senka watched Zelutjoskriva’s face the whole time, trying to make sure he was okay and happy.

He briefly nods at what she told him and enters the cottage, ensuring that he doesn't hit the doorway. Once inside, he takes a seat that her grandmother offered.

He didn't need her translations because he's capable of perfectly understanding different languages. He doesn't tell her that though as it isn't that important to note. Zelutjoskhriva silently watches and listens to their conversation. He happily takes an occasional sip of his tea, trying his best to preserve much. Zelutjoskhriva enjoyed its natural taste. His loves his tea, especially sage lemon and balm rose-hip.

“Having fun?” She asked, smiling. “Do Æylphitus eat human food? I mean, I’m just curious.” She tilted her head a bit. “I don’t know that much about… Nephilim or anything.”

He finished drinking what was left of his tea. It was very delicious and his mouth wasn't feeling weirdly dry. He puts his tea cup down and quickly observes the food. It's very Russian. Zelutjoskhriva has never seen anything like it before. He turns his head to face Senka.

"Æylphitus are capable of eating all sorts of edible foods. Some don't require sustenance to survive, while others do. I hope that explains your question," he nonchalantly replies, trying to hold back a yawn. "Also, yes. I'm having fun."

He kind of feels like a wise teacher of the Æylphitus to this supposed Japanese, but actually Russian actress.

”Aww! So you, a big strong ethereal being, could, eat me, a weak little human person, but you don’t? Out of love and compassion? Aww…” She makes puppy dog eyes and a corny sigh. “You’re just like this big sweet giant!” She said, still happily eating her food.

The supper her grandmother had cooked them was very good, and Senka seemed to love it a lot. “What do you usually eat instead then? Do you like Russian food? Russian and Japanese, that’s all I know how to cook..” She said, and she pushed a bit of her long blonde hair out of her face.

"I only consume regular food," he replies, partially lying.

He doesn't want to scare her off by telling the full truth. He also devours his hunted down targets, tearing at their flesh and drinking their blood. Zelutjoskhriva ate most of her grandmother's supper, but not much. He thought he was much hungrier than that.

"I eat what I can get," he simply explains. "I often prefer to consume pastas, currys, and fish. I also eat other foods as well."

”Oh, that’s nice! I find it really sweet what you do.” She said, giving his head a quick pat. “That’s a good taste in food… I’d say I’m an okay cook, too! I’m better at cleaning and sewing. You know, the industry setting us open to be sad housewives. I’m not like the other girls, though! I’ll stay happy no matter what role society forces me into!” She said, finishing up her supper and sipping the tea she had received.

Senka was painfully optimistic, it was clear. She also talked a lot, and had lots of energy, and maybe the happy-go-luck additude made up for her lack of smarts, or so she hoped. Senka kept on yapping about whatever. It’s like she had an endless amount of crazy stories.

Zelutjoskhriva sighs and briefly stretches. He seems to be getting bored and exhausted. He looks at his watch to check the time before putting it back in his trousers pocket. Zelutjoskhriva admires her strange form of talkative optimism. It helps to lessen the intensity of most heated situations. He's also glad to hear that she's breaking the sexist conformity that society has created. Women shouldn't be treated as simple maids and housewives. They deserve better in life. He patiently listens to Senka's crazy stories. After a few minutes, he finally gets up from his seat and looks down at her.

"I'm sorry to interrupt you, but I must get going. I have an urgent duty to fulfill. I wouldn't want my higher-ups to be disappointed in me. I already have enough on my plate to worry about," he explains.

He honestly feels bad for having to abruptly end this happy moment. However, Zelutjoskhriva is right. It's better to get going than to slack off.

"I appreciate our interaction with each other as well as the tea and supper," he says with a brief joyous smile.

He puts his emotionless bronze mask back on.

”Huh? Oh, okay. Well, will you be back? Oh, please come back! We’re friends, aren’t we? We had fun today, and I’d really like to see you again. …If I won’t have to get my memory wiped or whatever.” She added with a laugh.

She slowly got up to face him, still having to strain to look him in the eye with his height. “Goodbye! Today was fun!” She said, waving goodbye happily, excited to maybe see him another time. Senka looked around the cottage and felt at home.

He proceeds to silently leave the pleasant cottage. A part of Zelutjoskhriva wants to stay here longer. However, he has no choice, but to please the Venator's Wardrobe. He doesn't want to become another half-eaten moth with no life purpose. They're the bright, guiding Dog Star and he's the lonely shepherd with no sheep. Zelutjoskhriva quickly tracks through the dense forest, mentally preparing for his next objective. How knows what will be in store for him next. He begins to reminisce about the good times he had with his beloved daughter.

She noticed Zelutjoskriva inside and made an involuntary jostle back toward her car.

‘Who the hell is that guy…?!’

"Ooohh fuck. Why did I do this to myself?" he quietly mumbles to himself, almost forgetting about something that's obviously important to him.

He left his glaive and large rosewood cross nearby. He honestly feels stupid for doing that. He decides that it's the best choice to get them as soon as possible. Who knows what might be out there.

‘Who the hell is that guy? And why is he so tall?’

“This cottage was my grandparents’, and I demand to inquire of their whereabouts, sir!” She said, stomping a bit. She looked up at him and gave a cunning smile. “Oh, please, sir?”

He tries to hold back a tired yawn. He didn't get much sleep last night and the exhaustion is slowly creeping up on him. However, he has no time to rest. He has a duty to fulfill.

"I hope that satisfies your questions."

She smiles, this time a bit more geniunely. She really did hope to get on his good side and maybe get something out of this encounter.

He seems to be a bit suspicious of her, but he tries not to let it get to him.

”Oh my! Thank you very much.” She said sweetly, smiling and starting to follow him. “I suppose I may have gotten the address incorrect. Silly me…” She said, looking all around the area.

"I've never met a Japanese actress before," he coldly replied, while treading before her.

He takes another puff of his cigar, enjoying the minty aftertaste. It's quite refreshing for him. He stops and turns around to face her.

He goes back to walking.

These bombarding questions are slowly getting to him. Zelutjoskhriva tries to suppress his boiling rage and uneasiness. Now, isn't the time to make enemies and go berserk.

"You're welcome I guess," he responds to her well-meaning gratitude.

‘That cloud right there looks like a bunny.’ She somtimes got distracted easily. His response, whatever it was, would probably go in one ear and out the other.

Senka looked around at the sky and at everything, feeling glad about the prettiness of the world. She seemed to be in a better mood in comparison to earlier.

“Can you tell me more about your species? I mean, you’re a little scary looking. But obviously, looks don’t matter. I mean, they matter a little. But it’s not that bad to be scary looking.”

He pops his back and lets out a yawn, covering his mouth while doing so. He pauses for a brief amount before explaining his species.

She giggled a bit and quickly came closer. “Can I hug you?”

"Ummmm... of course?"

He isn't entirely sure on what to make of it, but goes with it anyways. He doesn't want to make the moment awkward.

"I secretly like hugs. I'm only comfortable doing it with friends, family or those who truly need one."

She blushed a bit. She wasn’t the brightest, not at all, but she tried to be pleasant and accommodating to him. She smiled weakly as she looked up at him.

He left his glaive and large rosewood cross nearby. He honestly feels stupid for doing that. He decides that it's the best choice to get them as soon as possible. Who knows what might be out there.

“This cottage was my grandparents’, and I demand to inquire of their whereabouts, sir!” She said, stomping a bit. She looked up at him and gave a cunning smile. “Oh, please, sir?”

He tries to hold back a tired yawn. He didn't get much sleep last night and the exhaustion is slowly creeping up on him. However, he has no time to rest. He has a duty to fulfill.

"I hope that satisfies your questions."

She smiles, this time a bit more geniunely. She really did hope to get on his good side and maybe get something out of this encounter.

He seems to be a bit suspicious of her, but he tries not to let it get to him.

”Oh my! Thank you very much.” She said sweetly, smiling and starting to follow him. “I suppose I may have gotten the address incorrect. Silly me…” She said, looking all around the area.

"I'm good. I appreciate you asking though," he says, deciding now isn't the time to do so. "Also, it's completely fine. You all make stupid mistakes."

”Thanks. You’re really sweet, protecting humans like that! You’re like a magical knight in shining armor for all of us!” She said, and she suddenly hugged him.

“You’re my favorite ethereal creature that I found in the middle of the woods!” She exclaimed happily, not realizing how crazy that sounded.

“You’re welcome, by the way. Did I say that? I don’t have a very good memory.” She said. She was kind of aloof and honestly stupid.

He's honestly surprised by what she just spewed out. His skin often feels weirdly rough. On the other hand, the patches of thick bird feathers are extremely soft.

His neck feels itchy and takes a moment to scratch it before talking.

"You didn't say 'you're welcome' before."

He honestly doesn't care as it's not something to get easily upset about.

“You kind of feel like a bird. But in a good way. I don’t mean to bodyshame my favorite ethereal creature.” She jumped up to pat his shoulder. “Why are you so tall? This is so not fair.”

She gave a playful pout and laughed a bit at the extreme height difference. “We’re really different, huh? But that’s okay. Different is nice.”

"What is body-shaming? I don't think I heard that term before," he asks, slightly tilting his head.

She pats his shoulder happily. “Anyway…” She starts talking a mile a minute again, but it’s not really anything to pay attention to.

Zelutjoskhriva gave her a handsomely joyous smile and gently held her right hand. He stops bending and pops his back to prevent uneasy soreness.

"I think you're very sweet too."

She keeps talking really, really fast, getting more and more panicked by the second. “Ohmigod. Say we’re not gonna die. Please?”

Zelutjoskhriva takes a deep breath in order to calm his nerves. She's making him all worked up and doesn't want to accidentally make the situation worse. He slightly squeezes her right hand.

“Gosh, I’m tired. I hope we don’t see another Æylphitus. That sounds like a lot of work to kill.” She said, shaking her head and then laughing a bit. “Sorry.”

"It's fine. People can only remember so much," he replies in a forgiving tone.

The numerous trees of this forest are of greater size compared to them. They're like intruding insects who don't have a clear way of escape.

"I've never been to this place. It's strangely labyrinthine. Unfamiliarity can create a messy rat maze," Zelutjoskhriva simply responds, looking at the sky through the dense trees.

His stomach begins to grumble and his mouth is feeling a little dry. He proceeds to speak again.

"Me too. I hope your grandmother will have something refreshing for us to drink and consume."

"You're very welcome. I hope you have a wonderful stay at your grandmother's," he replies in a soft and pleasant manner.

"Oh yeah... I almost forgot about that. My brain is all about work and finding something important..." he says, pausing for a brief moment.

He briefly nods at what she told him and enters the cottage, ensuring that he doesn't hit the doorway. Once inside, he takes a seat that her grandmother offered.

“Having fun?” She asked, smiling. “Do Æylphitus eat human food? I mean, I’m just curious.” She tilted her head a bit. “I don’t know that much about… Nephilim or anything.”

He kind of feels like a wise teacher of the Æylphitus to this supposed Japanese, but actually Russian actress.

"I only consume regular food," he replies, partially lying.

"I eat what I can get," he simply explains. "I often prefer to consume pastas, currys, and fish. I also eat other foods as well."
