a small timeline for gwaynes life . mind you , i mix and match however i see fit & like to add my own bits and pieces into my writing & backstory for him .
ââ´ŕźŻÂ ... gwayne is the youngest born son to otto hightower and his wife , who dies during childbirth . gwayne is the third child & after older brother alyn and sister alicent .
⤡ in some discussed verses it is possible to add that gwayne came to kings landing with otto & his siblings , but usually , i prefer to stick to the idea that otto took alicent to court only and left his two sons in oldtown , who then only visited every now and then , but did not live in kings landing .
ââ´ŕźŻÂ ... a fifteen year old gwayne comes to kings landing to partake at the tourney to celebrate the fifth year of the marriage between his older sister queen alicent & king viserys . he served as his sisters champion during the tourney , but was eventually unhorsed by ser criston cole , earning him the disappointment of his father . he left for oldtown again soon after .
ââ´ŕźŻÂ ... after the death of king viserys , he first remains in oldtown . keeping contact with his sister through letters , while also keeping an eye on her son daeron targaryen . but after his fathers removal as hand of the king , he was ordered to go to kings landing and keep an eye on ( criston cole or luthor largent , this is where plotting comes in handy )
⤡ because he either will join cole in the fight , keep an eye on the new hand of the king , OR join the citys watch per his fathers request and make sure they dont betray the crown . this , again , can be plotted .Â
ââ´ŕźŻÂ ... when the blacks come to kings landing , gwayne hightower dies after trying to sound the alarm . he gets stabbed in the stomach by luthor largent , after his weapons were removed and he was dragged in front of the commander . he was about thirty years old .Â
