Okay, real talk now. People love to tag male characters in posts about women, but this post is gonna take this seriously. Is there actually a canonically male character you believe is a trans woman? Or at least has made into a trans woman for a fanart or a fanfic? Excluding the ones canonically implied.

#yakuza like a dragon #like a dragon gaiden #kosei shishido #masumi arakawa #shishi is just straight up a woman tbh arakawa i can see a bigender or genderfluid reading for too but still transfem #like i was scrolling a thread that was like What If Shishido Was A Girl the other day #most of it literally read like a straightforward account of the game because things that simply did not occur to them as possible for a man #(having sexual trauma she's mocked for in a hypermasculine space and complicated feelings for a man she once loved romantic or not etc)#only occurred to them “now that she's a woman” even though these are basic and foundational aspects to her character #like that's not yaoi or hetgem glasses or whatever that is literally the catalyst. that she feels neglected/abandoned/betrayed by him #the man who saved her from that trauma but is most likely the reason she chose to stay in the space that caused it #and now has become so enmeshed with it that she doesn't believe she can exist outside of it even though it only causes her harm #even though *he* believes she can thrive outside of it with him and that's why he took the first step out of it in the first place #all this while hiding behind a mask that represents the pain of a woman forced to change btw. that doesn't actually hide Anything btw.#with a backstory that has her physically being shaped into something she never wanted to be in her teens btw.#THAT'S A WOMAN I'M TELLINGGG YOUUU IT'S JUST RGG STUDIO'S THING OF NEVER DEPICTING TRANS WOMEN ANY MORE TO “ATONE” FOR PAST TRANSMISOGYNY #anyway i truly believe that shishido can only be properly understood by the masses as a female character #and i think they should make her a woman explicitly in the next game as a social experiment #it's like. specifically a work that you only get the most out of through this (trans)feminine horror/drama read #not something that only requires you to accept that someone amab can be a victim and love a man and whatnot #bc yes true but the narrative still isn't expressed to its fullest extent thematically if you see her as cis imo #i don't have room to explain arakawa now but erm yep. hashtag yep #AND SHE HAS A DEADNAME. sorry
