I'm someone who prefers to assign voices through songs, lyrics and general vibes (i don't usually consider the artist or actual va's). And I think opening 1 to higurashi no naku koro ni (not the reboot ver) fits what I have in mind for my fem riddle jp voice!
The lyrics especially. I really think it's kinda riddle coded (except for some parts but we'll ignore that) :>
Ps a little name hc, but I think I'll call fem riddle Regina Rosehearts :D
Edit!: Fixed her shoes and changed some minor details
Ramblings under cut. Cause I ramble a lot.
.....
Hahh I'm a bit nervous to post this as there are already so many beautiful desgins of gender-swapped riddle....
One weird thing about me is I like to give characters voices by imagining them sing various jp songs until I find a perfect match. Actually for fem riddle (regina?) I had the opening song of select spread wixoss in mind first before changing it to higurashi when they cry (which was someone else's voice first in my fem twstverse you can guess who)
If you see any awkward limb positioning no you don't (i didn't use any references and forgor to flip the canvas when freehandling it). Also I'm not really good at drawing full body yet :p
Also also drawing the art and writing hcs using my fingers on my phone so don't mention anything about the fuckass handwriting
'This took me 13 hours goddamn I'm not continuing this' I say as I open a new canvas and sketch out designs for leona....praying that they remain similar...curse my inconsistent digital artstyle....
It has so much wasted potential and it all boils down to kishimoto's ass character writing.
Anyway, this is just me trying to fix this ship. You can ignore or block me if you dislike this, or feel free to leave your thoughts and opinions after reading
First thing i would fix is sakura's character. For a 12 year old, i would change her obsession to a simple crush that makes her treat sasuke a bit better than everyone else. She won't also hit naruto everytime she's annoyed with him (i really hate it when female main characters do this to the protags). She also has other interests and hobbies that helps her character have some flavour than being another obsessed with sasuke character. Maybe she was always interested in medic nins and how they operate, so when tsunade came along sakura was hellbent on learning medical ninjutsu from her. And her fallout with ino didn't happen because they crushed over the same guy, maybe some other misunderstandings. (Sakura really said to ino we can't be friends because you also like sasuke 💀)
She's prone to mistakes, of course. Her making many errors will help with her development later. Maybe during missions sasuke would often take priority over naruto or something.
Another thing is sakura becoming aware of the uchiha massacre. Maybe she hears it through gossip from her mom and she kind of understood what had happened. This leads her to being more concerened over sasuke's mental state, and she tries to help him out in many ways. Not because of her crush, or because she's fawning over sasuke's looks, but because she is worried about him and wants to help him. Because she can't begin to imagine the suffering he went through. (This can be another flaw of hers, since sometimes, some people don't want what they consider interference from others. Sometimes revenge is the only medicine that can help them.)
Sakura will pursure after sasuke with naruto because of her feelings for him. Though once he tries to kill her, she realizes he truly does not care about her anymore and begins to move on from him though it takes a long time. Resulting in that out of everyone, naruto is the only one actively trying to get sasuke back. Or the only one on his side.
After the war and everything, sasuke will realize just how much sakura truly cared about him. And not just because he was her crush. He regrets his actions towards her, but she has moved on from him. So this time, the roles are reversed and he is the one pursuing her. Because if he wants her love again, he has to work for it. He has to earn it, and prove himself worthy of her time. And he is successful during the last movie of naruto, where sakura finally gives in and grants him a second chance.
Side note: i have not read the manga and I've just started rewatching naruto (i watched when i was really young so my understanding of naruto is not very good) but it's just so frustrating to see how female naruto characters are written. My thoughts will make more sense if you watch the video 'how i would rewrite the konoha 13', my inspiration for writing this. I have to admit my main ship narusasu, but sasusaku had angst/hurt/comfort/second chance potential i wanted to explore and this is the result.
