Step into the daylight and let it go!
Junichi Masuda announced, hidden at the end of the E3 Nintendo Treehouse discussion that a lot of people didn’t stick around for, that pokemon stored in Pokemon Home WILL NOT be able to be transferred to Sword/Shield if they are not a pokemon listed in the Galar Regional Dex. They have not said anything if this will be a temporary situation or permanent.
They did this under the pretense of wanting to focus on improving individual pokemon’s animations (despite none of the old pokemon shown so far displaying any new animations) and balancing online play (despite the fact they’ve banned pokemon in competitive settings before without excluding them from the games.)
This definitely means no National dex, but Sun/Moon lacked that too. More importantly this means you may not be able to use your favorites in Sword/Shield, or transfer your shinies. Pokemon that have been with you for 17 years will be stuck in Pokemon Home and unusable.
And since the transfer to Home is a one-way trip, you won’t be able to send them back to gen 7 to use there either.
Spread this like wildfire, because a LOT of people didn’t see it.
Listen… I’m never gonna not be salty about people using “it was everywhere” as a valid excuse to insult Frozen and the people who love it. Especially when so many of those people who use that as an excuse to insult others have never even SEEN the movie.
Newsflash from a long-term Disney fan: Disney poured a lot of money into it because it was popular. It wasn’t popular because Disney poured a lot of money into it. There is a difference. Disney didn’t pay billions of people to love the movie. You can’t buy that kind of popularity. People loved it so they kept it around as long as they could.
And anyone who knows anything about Disney knows that if people don’t like their movies they BURY THEM. If Frozen really was a “terrible movie” they wouldn’t have pushed it like they did. They’d have wiped it from the face of the earth like their other financial and critical failures. It wouldn’t have made any kind of good business sense to promote something people hated.
So “It was everywhere” is not constructive nor a valid reason to put people down for enjoying a franchise.

I posted this on Twitter awhile ago (I might even make a full video on this) and I think it’s worth posting here The core difference between the Sonic movie and Detective Pikachu and why everyone hates Sonic but loves Pikachu is this: Detective Pikachu didn’t sacrifice the game design for the sake of realism
They didn’t try and make all of the Pokemon resemble ‘real’ animals, they all look like themselves; lifted straight out of the games.
And it would have been EASY for them to just include Pokemon that only look like animals, but they’re also including the Pokemon with weirder designs, like Mr. Mime above, and Golurk, which is literally a rock golem
Now compare this to Sonic…
Sonic went too far in trying to make him a ‘real’ animal, resulting in him looking like a hairy little gremlin. He looks like a human wearing a costume…
Like, look at how Detective Pikachu designed Charmander
This comes from the D. Pikachu line of Pokemon cards btw
Now, what if they tried to make him a “real” animal, he’d end up looking something like..
You see the problem?
You made him a real animal, but he only looks like an approximation of what he’s supposed to look like… that’s why people hate the Sonic movie design so much and why you see so many people trying to fix it online.
There’s this weird fear that a distinctly cartoony design can’t work when you’re trying to put a CG character next to real people and that it HAS to look realistic… and that’s simply not true. it’s been PROVEN not true!
Detective Pikachu gets this, their designs are a perfect middle-ground between realistic and cartoon
Let cartoon characters BE cartoon characters
The CGI in Detective Pikachu looks so much better than it does in Aladdin, it boggles my mind. Like, how does a Snorlax sleeping on the street in the background look more believable than a classic Disney character played by Will Smith.
The top 3 nintendo franchises saying a swear word
The starter Pokémon are cute and all and I’m glad they were revealed but
Can we
