When the news flew by that her dear friend had passed, Oh how Mella ran and ran as much as she could just to reach Carol's home, she was desperate when she didn't find them there.
One time, she heard from whispers and murmurs of the whereabouts on Carol's grave, how quick did she take action.
When she met the twins, she stood her own ground yet at a distance.
She understood them, the underlying urge to just.. protect someone you wished were still there. She understood that pain well.
And it still hurts, deep down.
Mella silently respected their decision on keeping a distance, in which she followed without another word.
Always standing there, always watching.
Her very eyes looked at the grave and watched the whole world shatter all over again, the pain was there and it lingered longer.
She would leave Carol's grave the tea she used to like sharing with them, the chocolate cookies she made just for them each visit, the tears that showed her guilt and shame.
She always offered something for the twins in return for allowing her the long range visit, snacks were a common casualty.
Yet each passing day, She grew tired. She grew restless. Protective. Aggressive. The sorrow she refused to acknowledge kept getting worst, to where it even clouded her very mind.
She'd get delirious, wanting no one to ever mention their name ever again. One wrong move and she'll freak out, one can only experience an immense kind of pain when in her path as that happens.
Tears were her most common flaw, they poured down in the most unsuspecting of ways. The worst kind. They'll make you cry too, In pain and misery. Mostly pain.
