I was a casual GOT viewer when I originally saw the episode where Jaime returns to find the sept in ruins and Tommen dead and I thought “oh damn he’s going to leave her now.” It would only make sense but of course, he didn’t and I was completely flabbergasted. There is no way this can be justified rationally.

This man is intelligent, was sold on an arc with the emphasis being placed on his journey with Brienne, has read his book chapters, was arguing with D&D about when the fuck the book canon arc they promised was going to take off which emphasized finally detaching from Cersei through growth, has been openly fighting for Jaime rights since season 4 and each season believed it was finally the time only to get shoved aside and put on pause, and was told to be patient because his character would finally progress at the end of S7…. There’s no way he was okay with his character doing a complete 180 in the last hour after being teased with the development he faught for, just for the character to flatline and be reduced to completely meaningless. This isn’t even the only interview where he ranted about their nonsensical and inconsistent writing. If you think he hasn’t been told to stfu and say what they tell him to say post S8 you’re incredibly naive, especially since every actor has literally been saying the same sentences over and over.
