Complete and ready to ride!
Sneak peek without brakes. Updated image, with rear brake. It is now complete!
Decals!
Working out the details. Typeface: Luggage by Jason Koerner; T26
Operation School Bus has commenced!
Frame and fork cleaned up, sanded and ready for paint. Bars and seat post were stripped of the paint, then wet-sanded incrementally up to 1500 grit.
Summer project! Found this beefy Mongoose on the “curb” ready for the garbage truck. It’s the same property that tossed out the 16″ Diamond Back last year, not sure why the love throwing bikes in the trash!
It’s already taken apart and the frame and forks are sanded and ready for a new coat of paint. I stripped the bars and seat post and did incremental wet-sending up to 1500 grit. They look pretty good.
After it’s done, I plan to donate to a local organization where it can be given a second life.
Had a great time at the 7th Annual Jersey City Spring Swap / Show / Ride this weekend. A lot great builds out there.
Full set of pics here!
Testing out the new seamless roll and lights.
Project Crocodile: COMPLETE! Finally finished this project up. Really happy with the overall results and decal designs. I originally started this project for my son, but he grew a bunch in between me starting and finishing, he’s way too big to ride it now. So, I’ll pass it on to some good friends who have a young son, who is ready to ride! (I’ll add training wheels too)
MAKESTICKERS did a really nice job with the white on clear decals. Reasonable prices and quick turnaround. If you use them, make sure to specify you need clear on white, otherwise they’ll print white on black.
Your bike develops a mind of its own when driven into a patch of sand. #ouch
Spotted this 16″ Diamond Back sitting on the curb ready for the garbage truck! Grabbed it immediately and took it home to clean up. Took the rusty training wheels off, rinsed it off with the hose and put some air in the tires. Ready to roll for our six year old. Complements his big brother’s bike perfectly.
Had a good time at the 6th Annual Jersey City Spring Show/Swap/Ride over the weekend. Saw some familiar faces and met some new BMX freaks. And of course, took a ton of pics of the rad bikes.

The Three R’s
Finally found some time to lay some paint down on this frame. Waiting for it to dry, then hit it with some 1200 grit wet sandpaper to smooth it out. Then clear coat it. Then it's on to decal designs.
