Parasite.

listen. don’t let this title make u think it’s a horror or sci-fi movie and instantly write it off. i’d say it’s a mystery thriller more than anything. this movie IS AMAZING. I will be seeing it 900 more times. it’s a korean movie w english subtitles and it just. so perfect and well done and had me on the edge of my seat but also laughing and then crying and wow. no wonder this won the palme d’or at cannes. I can’t say enough how incredible everyone’s acting was and how insane and captivating the story was and how it so clearly shows the divide and just. I can’t express my love for this movie enough. it’s playing at the Rainbow in Regina rn so you can see it for $10 and it’s worth every single penny. by far one of the best movies i’ve seen in a few years. if you can, go into this movie not knowing anything. I didn’t watch any trailers or read any reviews before going in and it made it all the better. 100/10. biggest of recs.

Midway.

this was. really good. idk what all to say about it. bc like. it’s a true story and i had no idea that this all happened. it was well paced and kept your attention and I really enjoyed it. totally googled so much when i got home. so many actors i recognized from other things popped up in this and it was like oh hey neat. but yes. i’d recommend seeing it. 8/10.

Last Christmas.

ok so I actually thought this was kinda cute but I do love me a good hallmark movie so I knew i’d dig it. i thought it was super entertaining and v festive which I love and i’d probably watch it again when I need a good movie full of cheese, ya know? it wasn’t like, incredible or different from every other movie before it, but it was still enjoyable and I had a good time watching it. i liked that it was very family oriented and basically her getting her shit together lol. it had a pretty neat twist at the end that makes total sense after the movie and it so obvious when u look back lol but still liked it. anyways. a good chick flick to get me in the holiday mood. 7/10 (10/10 if we’re going by hallmark movie standards).

Doctor Sleep.

okay so I haven’t seen The Shinning..... let’s start with that lol. BuT I did read the Wikipedia page before going to this movie (so like I read it 5 mins before I started in the theatre). But I now have to watch The Shinning bc like dude. This movie was so good. I really liked it. It didn’t really have any jump scares which is also a plus bc who likes jump scares. Not I. The plot was super cool and tbh it was a little hard to watch a some points bc it was so dark and like, holy cow. No boring parts FOR SURE. I was on the edge of my (recliner) seat. But tbh I’d watch this again and I think I’d have enjoyed it more if I had watched The Shinning first lol. Anyways. Acting was on point and there were even a few funny parts, but like yeah. Don’t see this if ur super squimish (idk how to spell it) or under 14 bc like. Not a kids movie. BUT I’d recommend. 10/10. Will be rewatching. This movie comes up Nov. 8, btw.

The Addams Family (2019).

SO CUTE! I love the Addams Family so much and i’m a little upset we won’t see a live action oscar isaac as gomez bc could u imagine? it would be so perfect. but it was so cute and dark and i’m not sure how kids would like it but I quite enjoyed it. 8/10!

Maleficent 2.

I liked it!!!! not gonna lie I forgot what happened the first one so I lowkey had to wikipedia it’s before this started but they also do a good job of reminding you what happened and stuff so that’s nice! i’d watch 2 hours of angelina jolie any day so this was right up my alley. It was rly enjoyable and I liked the story so! 8/10 🙂

The Lighthouse.

uhm. what is this movie? it feels like a parody movie almost because literally nothing makes sense and it’s so weird and you almost can’t believe what’s happening is actually happening. don’t get me wrong, their performances were amazing. I barely could understand willem’s accent tho lmao he went on a tangent and I understood two words in the 5 mins speech. idk. it got a lot of hype and it was pretty disappointing and like. just so weird. SO WEIRD. anyways. I wouldn’t go see it again in theatres and you could wait until it’s on netflix to watch it bc idk if it’s worth it. it drags man. those two hours are so long. 3/10 because looking back i’m giggling at the things that happened bc it feels like a fever dream of a movie.

Joker.

this movie is....... different. if you read my review of midsommar, it gave me the same feeling of disturbance when I left the theatre but in the best way? idk if that makes sense. the first 45 ish minutes are slow, let’s be real, but it picks up and is incredible and kind of horrifying to watch. his acting? incredible. I liked how everything in the end tied in together and you could see his dissent and spiralling. it definitely is a darker origin story than dc would ever make lol. I have absolutely no idea how this movie is only rate 14a. I wouldn’t let anyone under 18 see this movie because of how graphic it gets and how disturbing it is. lots of graphic deaths and stuff. if you have tough stomach, i’d recommend seeing it. idk if it’s something i’d watch on a weeknight because it’ll keep you awake for a bit after seeing it, but it’s definitely s good film. 8.5/10. 😳 no one come for me with that rating lol. I enjoyed it but it could have had a better pacing.

OH I FORGOT TO ADD THE NEW THEATRE IS SO NEAT. very comfy seats. gorgeous inside. will be returning.

Official Secrets.

Why is this not getting more buzz? It is INCREDIBLE. It was almost hard to believe this is a true story because I had no idea this happened?! But a quick google search and my god. I need everyone to watch this movie because not only is the true story so incredible and brave and enthralling, but the acting is AMAZING and I will proceed to see this movie 900 more times and promote it like it’s my second job. If you’re in Regina, it’s playing at the Studio 7 at Rainbow Cinemas and it’s only $10 to see an incredible true story of an insanely brave woman. Plus they have the best popcorn (sorry, cineplex lol). PLEASE GO SEE THIS. 100/10.

47 Meters Down: Uncaged.

THIS MOVIE. fricking SHARKS. do I do well in shark movies? no. do I still watch them? absolutely. it wasn’t as good as the first one tbh it wasn’t as much as a psychological horror but more jump scares. idk if it’s worth it to see it at full price of a movie admission but like when it goes to rainbow i’d recommend seeing it. anywho. 6/10.

IT: Chapter 2.

ok so I didn’t realize how long this movie was but it was soooo good!!!!! the first scene was pretty hard to watch tbh. but it was a really good movie and tbh I almost cried at the end. I love them sm. I love how much of a mix it was w the young and old cast and there were a few storylines I wish had been fleshed out more but overall a rly good ending and I was, again, very stressed out during this movie. bUt I recommend seeing it bc it was very good. 9/10.

Ready or Not.

SO GOOD. it’s like a horror comedy??? and I LOVED IT. will be watching this a few more times bc it’s THAT GOOD. the main protagonist = so smart and aware of her surroundings. which you almost never see in horror movies lmao. I was super stressed but do movies not stress me out lol. ANYWAYS GO SEE IT. SO GOOD. 10/10.

Hobbs & Shaw.

sO i’m a little late but I saw Hobbs & Shaw and let me tell you. hilarious. I thoroughly enjoyed it. lots of action! lots of laughs! I had a good time and I really hope they make a second one. 9/10, would see again. this is a v short review but it was rly good and idk what else to Say.

Once Upon a Time In Hollywood.

I.... may not be one who is into Tarantino movies. There were so many scenes that I was like, okay what. Why is this here except to add to the length to the movie.

Don’t get me wrong, the chemistry and friendship between Leo and Brad Pitts characters was amazing and the acting was Phenomenal. Like, holy shit. Whoever played the crispy girl in the last scene was insanely good. I just don’t know if I enjoyed the movie? I know his movies are slooooooow to begin with, but meh.

Anyways. If you have some spare time it is 2 hours and 40 minutes so be prepared. If I were to rec it I would say go for the phenomenal acting and Leo and Brad. The story-line had me a bit meh. The last 30 mins were the bomb.com, though. Anywho. 6.5/10. But that’s just my opinion.

Midsommar.

ITS 18A FOR A REASON. it’s so MESSED UP. y’all. it’ll take you on a Journey and a HALF. IT IS A REALLY WELL DONE MOVIE IT IS JUST NOT EVER MEANT FOR ANY CHILD TO SEE. I FEEL TOO YOUNG TO HAVE SEEN THIS.

anyways. i’ll stop screaming I just wanna warn y’all it’s super messed up and tbh I felt a little sick at the end and there’s a shit ton of very graphic gore and violence so if you can’t handle seeing some very detailed and violent gore then this is not the movie for u my friend.

Spider-man: Far From Home.

can I praise this movie enough???? i’ll spend the rest of my life doing it. peter parker is the cutest little cutie pie and I love him so much. this movie?? incredible. the story, the little god bits that all connect at the end (which @ curtis totally caught on to props my dude). the visual effects were UNREAL. so crazy. just all around an Amazing movie and i’ll probably go see it a few more times bc I loved it so much. such a good movie. ugh. 20/10.

The Dark Knight.

lmao so i’m a little bit behind on seeing this and i’m not even gonna attempt to describe how amazing I thought this movie was bc words can’t describe it. they’re playing a bunch of christopher nolan movies at the IMAX over the summer and seeing this for the first time at the IMAX??? best. experience. ever. I loved it and shall be back for the third movie. 15/10.
