Fort Clinch, Florida

Defending the strategically important Cumberland Sound at the very north western edge of Florida, work on Fort Clinch began in 1847. It remained unfinished during the Civil War and changed hands several times before it was finally completed 20 years after construction began. It was sporadically garrisoned and abandoned in the 1920s.

Yo this is so weird. I just went to visit this fort three weeks ago with my brother in law, and earlier this week I was telling my dad about it because I thought it was a neat fort. Then not even 30 minutes ago I saw a FB post from one of my old church friends who does reenactments doing a "Garrison" here. And now THIS post pops up on my dash? What is happening?

To me it’s a fusil-mitrailleur, which is more or less an LMG.

Definitely LMG. It's way too heavy and large to be an assault rifle. Plus the full power cartridge.
