I'm working on a cool project and some other stuff which I'll mostly be sharing on my website's new noticeboard page
I wanted to ask if you still had a passion for music-making, I remember listening to Expedition to the Underworld in high school, and i loved it, I also enjoyed Why Do You Get Out Of Bed, your music and game helped me get through some tough times and reminded me to keep my head up, even if things weren't the best.

I noticed that the newsletter disappeared, did something happen? Also thank you so much for making this game, I first discovered it through the music and fell in love with it, it inspired me to pursue a career in game development.
Hi I scrapped the game I'd been working on and am not planning on making another game at the moment so the newsletter felt silly.
I think I'll only make another game in the future as a way to promote my music.

Hey, is there any reason the game got removed from Itch? I kind of assumed it was related to the face graphic that got replaced but I'm not sure.

I saw this on the STBUIADOP Steam page? What was the graphic, and why remove it in December and not sooner? I really donāt like or trust generative AI stuff and Iām saddened to see it used in a game I really love. Iām glad itās being removed, I just wanted to ask for some more context.
The smiling lady's face in the area with the trash enemy was from thispersondoesnotexist because that website was still novel to me when I made the game (early 2023).
I think I had enough of an understanding of generative AI at the time to have a negative opinion on it, but didn't take it seriously enough yet to put much thought into using a graphic from that website.
The update where it'll be replaced with a stock image will be out in December because I'm busy & I also want to include some bug fixes in the update.
I think gen AI shit is heinous too & apologise for not including the disclosure on the game's page sooner. I might write more about this in my next newsletter.
The graphic wasn't removed sooner in general because I wanted to leave the game as it was including its flaws. Not disclosing the source of the graphic sooner was just me being shitty though & not thinking about it much, so again I apologise.
I understand if this ruins the game for anyone or if u no longer trust my stuff in general
The patch replacing this graphic is out today. It will probably be the last patch for the game.

is the swollen to bursting ost copyrighted? in the sense that if someone uses it in a stream etc will they get a strikedown
The ost is free to use in anything except lame things. I donāt think ur stream will get claimed if u play my songs. If it does lmk and Iāll try to sort it out.

Do you check out the Swollen Steam Community and Discussions much, or on any other websites for that matter? Is discussion of the game mostly just active on Steam?
I look to see what people are saying about the game all the time because I like the attention.
Steam was definitely where people were most active, although people aren't really saying anything on there anymore. Interest in the game has waned quite a bit over the last few months.

rare for a game to make me want to make fanart. rare for a game to have such similar inspirations to something i made and to take then in such a different direction. very captivating and affecting.
version 1.4.2.1 of SWOLLEN TO BURSTING is out with quite a few nice improvements. the game is a tiny bit more pleasant to hang out with now. patch notes below for those interested.
This update adds back everything that was removed after the broken 1.4.2 update. Now everything is back apart from the different save system
i might release another little patch tonight because i'm on a roll today. it will only be very small so i wont make a post about it.
