Dec 23 Balsamic-Roasted Brussels Sprouts. This is from Foolproof. Which this turned out to not be ... that. The idea was to keep it warm, but the heat was never turned down. Sooooo - a little blackened. OK a lot blackened.

Dec 12: green bean gremolota - chickpeas weren't part of the original recipe but I needed it to go further for a party. Tasty lemon dish and the only veggie at the event!
December 9 Parker Beef Stew. Lots of chopping. Thankfully we halved this! Got to use the Dutch oven for something other than bread. We succeeded with this one! “Looks like a beef stew” - BV
Dec 2 - Fruit Salad with Limoncello - I honestly just wanted an excuse to open this big bottle on top of our fridge! I used Labane from Salem cheese. Added pear to the fruit salad and reduced the sugar a small amount. Delicious but that could have been the curd!
Dec 2: Breakfast Ricotta with fruits & maple syrup sauce- she really wanted me to add vanilla and sugar to the ricotta but I felt like the maple and butter was almost like Caramel. Decided to go with more seasonal fruits but the book suggest berries.
December 2 cheddar and jalapeño crackers. Which are more like cookies. These were fun and look like the book.
December 2: mustard and gruyere batons. It only uses one puff pastry sheet. So double it or have something planned for the other. It’s a little too mustardy for me. Also - don’t watch these in the oven. They look awful until the last few minutes.
Dec 1 - Ricotta - making cheese was a long time goal - with success.
December the month of pot lucks and parties features any Ina we can get our hands on.
Nov 30 - a pickled cauliflower type of thing.
Nov 12: cucumbers in sweet lime vinegar - a twist on an old favorite. The lime is s swell surprise
Nov 11 roots and leaves. If you loves your mandolin then this recipe if for you.
Nov 10 Sweet Potato andChickpeas, beheld puri stylie-ish with a green chutney. Made for a surprise wedding. There a lot to these. Substitutions will probably be needed - and I think that’s one of the points that the author said was ok. If not the point. Making it your own. So if you can only find Indian style potato sticks … that’s what you are using.
Nov 6 corn x3 - it all comes together pretty fast, once done chopping is done. The three corns are corn off the cob, corn nuts, and hominy. The last two were new to me. This was quite good. Would I make it again? Maybe.
November -6: Choose-your-style kale salad. The secret is to knead with oil and salt. 4 styles with 4 items- greens, cheese, onions, seeds
November was inspired by a Splendid Table podcast. Always add an element of surprise.
Oct 30: "cheddar" popcorn (topped with nutritional yeast)
