Robert Eads was a transgender man who transitioned later in life and as such it was deemed inadvisable for him to seek sex reassignment surgery. He was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 1996 but was refused treatment by more than a dozen doctors, some for personal reasons and others on the grounds that taking him on as a patient might harm their practice. When he finally found a doctor to treat him in 1997, the cancer had already metastasized to other parts of his body, rendering any further treatments futile. He passed away in 1999. His life and death was the subject of the award-winning documentary Southern Comfort (2001).
As i’m sure many of you have heard, the Trump administration just passed a ruling that would remove LGBT+ anti-discrimination protections in health care and health insurance. I immediately thought of this man’s story when I heard about the ruling. Stories like this are the reason why those protections are necessary.
It’s easy to feel hopeless with all the bad news our community has been bombarded with recently. But we have to keep fighting, and one way we can fight is through legal means.
Here are some organizations who have announced plans to take action in court. If you can donate to any of them, please do!
LAMBDA Legal: one of the first to announce they would take legal action against the ruling, LAMBDA Legal is the oldest and largest national legal organization advocating for LGBTQ+ people and people with HIV.

a video of me aggressively photographing mushrooms went viral on tiktok and tbh this is how i wanna be remembered.
Audio transcription:
Person filming: " having gay friends is all fun and games until they need to take a picture of a mushroom"
Person kneeling desperately to take picture of mushroom while friend films: "UUUUGH it's a bunch though! It's a family Megan!"
what’s so great about azula is that she is a perfect imagining of a contemporary model of the quintessential shakespeare villain, and also she’s a fourteen year old girl. iago, lady macbeth, edmund.......... but make her an eighth grade bully

Harley Quinn - 1x09 || 2x07
Clayface: Okay, all right, let's hear about the kiss. Was it like, a soft brush against your lips? Or was it like a, you know, a "I gotta have you now" kind of thing?
Harley: Well, at first it was really intense, you know? And then, oh, God, and then we just sort of sunk into it.
Clayface: Okay, so, okay, was she holding you? Or was her hand, like, on your back?
Harley: No, actually first they started on my waist. And then, they slid up, and then, they were in my hair.
Clayface and King Shark: Ohhh

Ivy: And, uh, and then I kissed her.
Selina: Tongue?
Ivy: Yeah.
Selina: Cool.

Can you believe there are people who honestly think Zack Snyder has never read a Superman comic?
There is a difference between reading a comic and taking inspiration from it, and beating us over the head with Jesus allegory.
Notice how in the comic Superman actually talks to this person, actually treats him like a human, like an equal. Notice how when this person talks to him like a holy savior he doesn’t then turn off into the distance and stares in silence as he looks like he’s burdened by having to help others. Yes, Zack Snyder has read Superman comics… but man did he not understand them.
alright, “professor” you and your minions really want to fucking do this, fine.
Notice how in the comic Superman actually talks to this person, actually treats him like a human, like an equal
It’s funny that this is your big complaint because if you’d actually read the comic you’d know that Superman talking to him does jack shit, the man continues to treat Superman as a God, because ya know, people don’t tend to listen to reason, especially where faith comes in. Furthermore one of the main points of the movie is how Superman is denied a chance to speak, he was going to make his case before the Senate committee but Lex Luthor rigged it so that he never got a chance. The media talks about him on stop but never stop to question how he feels. This is the point, because this is how society treats those it marginalizes or Others, it denies them a voice while the rich and powerful treat them as props to further their preferred narratives.
as he looks like he’s burdened by having to help others.
Yeah why would Superman feel burdened, everything’s so obviously going his way in the movie… Honestly of course he look burdened. Like wtf is wrong with that? Why are you acting like this is something new? “Superman” has been inconveniencing Clark for years, I mean how many times have writers played the “Clark’s budding relationship with Lois is stalled because he stood her up to take care of Superman business.” Why do people always act like Superman was nothing but sunshine and rainbows before Zack Snyder came along? It’s called Internal Conflict, you can’t write a three dimensional character without it.
I wholeheartedly agree with your great response and I unfortunately share your tiredness with dealing with these matters. Keep up the good fight mate!
