getting an evil spirit put inside you without your knowledge or consent is basically a classic childhood experience
actually creators can be wrong about their characters sometimes. for example sometimes a creator thinks their character has blue eyes
(smiling serenely) i’m going to attack you now
we seriously need to stop conceding to the personhood trap when it comes to abortion rights. is a fetus a person? thats a spiritual question. i dont care about the answer. should another person dictate what someone can do with their body? simple answer: no.
like if a fetus isnt a person it has no right to my body and if a fetus IS a peson it also has no right to my body because there is no other context in which we are required to put ourselves at risk of physical harm to preserve another persons safety or even life.
you dont have to save someone from drowning even if youre a strong swimmer. even in death youre not required to donate organs and that could save several people. you can kill someone if you truly believe your safety is at risk. we dont mandate preservation of life over autonomy in any of these circumstances.
My favourite analogy is blood donation. If everyone in my country (absent a specific medical reason not to) was legally obligated to give blood once a year - a very manageable medical burden - it would certainly save some lives and substantially improve others (sickle cell patients could receive more frequent transfusions from closer blood matches etc).
But legally mandating everyone to open their veins once a year would be regarded as a horrifying infringement on personal liberties. (And quite right too!)
How much more, then, does this apply to pregnancy, which does not take an hour and then go away with zero side effects within a week!
how it feels when the character doesn’t break the cycle and in fact actively perpetrates it
kicking my feet and giggling like a schoolgirl in love to myself while muttering "i'm going to kill you. i'm going to fucking kill you"
*takes a bite of my cigarette*...... heh. the character...... *walks into a small puddle but it swallows me up like the ocean* *i am found dead years later in maine*
*introducing myself to the guards who caught me* seized to meet you
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
honestly fuck you for the 30 seconds it took for me to understand

#the reason that lab safety regulations are the way they are is because literally all chemists are like this #as in 100% of them #no exceptions (via @prokopetz)
I explained the concept of "blorbo from my shows" to my 71 year old immigrant grandfather because I referenced it in passing and I thought nothing of it, until today when he said "I think I'll watch peaky blinders tonight and see my blorbo from my shows" referring, of course, to Cillian Murphy playing Tommy Shelby
English isn't his first language so he's not super in touch with modern slang, so I've been accidentally teaching him to talk like a tumblr user. His favorite thing to say lately is "me when I'm a little hater" when he's like talking shit about the neighbor's son
I explained the “x before gta6” meme to my immigrant father and he, in turn, explained to me how back in his day in Romania, they had the same type of joke, except instead of it being gta6, it was about the imminent death of a singer named Gică Petrescu, who everyone was continuously shocked by because he refused to die. Every time a momentous event happened people would say, in essence: “This happened and Gică Petrescu hasn’t even died yet?!?”
So. He understood the gta6 meme immediately because they apparently had the same thing in Romania when he was young, except way, way more morbid

I’m tired of “gooners” I’m tired of 4chan terms I’m tired of casual racism I’m tired of all this shit we have to pretend is normal so we don’t upset like the few people who conflate their identities with being edgy, racist and insufferable
