[INTERVIEW]
Question: “Wonwoo, your opening sequence in the song ‘FEAR’ has been received really well by the CARATs. Do you think your deep voice is one of the charms that pulls the fans in?”
Wonwoo adjusted his glasses that were slowly sliding down the bridge of is nose. “I've never thought about that before, but I am definitely curious about what side of me my fans like. That's actually hard to guess... Why do they like me?”
SEVENTEEN: HIT THE ROAD
NEW YORK

[INTERVIEW]
Question: The group seemed really busy during this time in Japan...
"Well, since this is our first time in Japan since Skye's inclusion within the group, we shot several TV programs, interviews and had loads of photoshoots that I think will help us promote ourselves to the Japanese CARATs, and many others as well… The Japanese CARATs have actually reacted really well to Skye’s addition and all of us are relieved at that."
(At a Studio in Japan for a Magazine's photo shoot)
All 134 members of SEVENTEEN were striking various posed befor ethe camera for the group photos.
“Okay, now we will have shoot Skye with each of the three units and then with individual members…”, the camera man announced.
“1st up…Hip-hop team. The remaining members of you can rest up a bit.” Wonwoo was first up. Skye was already on the set when he shuffled up to her.
The fact that Wonwoo and Skye, two of the quietest members of the group, were still not at complete ease with each other could be easily grasped by anyone who spent some time around them. Around the members, they were all right. But once left in a room by themselves, they still felt slightly stiff and self-conscious.
“Can you two strike a different pose? May be get a little closer to each other?” The camera man could also sense the awkwardness found it difficult to get a shot as per his liking. Seungcheol and Vernon tried to crack jokes in an attempt to ease them up while Mingyu yelled some pose ideas to the two.
They were clumsily shifting around each other until Wonwoo froze as he felt Skye slide a hand under his own and lean her head on his left shoulder. He remained frozen for a few seconds more before settling into the pose and leaning his own head upon hers. Mingyu and Coups whistled and encouraged them while Vernon was seen smiling knowingly.
The camera man didn’t waste a second before clicking the shutter as fast as he could.
“Thank you~ We're done~”, he said after he successfully secured a few shots as per his liking.
[INTERVIEW]
Question: How do you spend your time during the tours…or in general?
“I'm a quiet person. I do like being around people too, but I need to have some time alone as well… walking around the streets, but also sleeping in my room. I like to play games, and read books in my spare time.”
Question: And which member do you think is similar to you?
“I think Jihoon…The8…and also maybe Skye…But Jihoon usually spends most of his time in the studio while The8 often goes back and forth to China. Skye, as far I have seen, also tries to take walks or read books in her down time…so yeah…”

(Back at the hotel)
“Shua hyung, say hi to the camera! We're going to Super Junior's concert~”, Hoshi rambled in excitement as he joined some other members who were waiting for him in the elevator.
“Is Wonwoo eating alone?”, Woozi asked Jeonghan. Jeonghan woke up about an hour after almost a quarter of the group had left for the concert and had joined Woozi in the latter's room for dinner.
Jeonghan slurped the rest of the ramen broth from his bowl. “Well, he was almost done with his dinner when I came to wake you up... I think he is planning to go out by himself now. What about you? Are you going to go work out after playing tennis?
“I am not sure yet, should I work out and then play tennis? Or play tennis first and then hit the gym...”, Woozi voiced his dilemma as he attempted to open a bottle of zero coke.
Meanwhile, the two youngest members were finishing up their meal in another room.
“What are you plans for today, Channie?”, Skye mumbled as she chewed her food.
“I think I'm going to go to the sauna with Vernon and then go work out. Later I plan to join you in the pool , and then I'll probably just laze around until I fall asleep.”
The camera moved to Skye.
"Do you have any plans to go out?", the question was directed at her.
“For me, since today is our only day off in the midst of the busy Japan schedule, I'm going to go around some tourist spots.”
“Whoa…don’t you think you should rest a bit?” The older male was amazed at her energy.
“You should never miss a chance to look around in a new place…who knows when I’ll be back here again?” She started to organize the empty dishes as they finished the food.
"Wonwoo said he could show me around some places around since you all have already been here before...I have decided to take up his offer..."
[INTERVIEW]
Question: So Wonwoo, what is SEVENTEEN to you?
“You know, I'm not the type of person to talk much... so, I have always kind of had a weak presence. I felt like I couldn't fit in that well anywhere, ever since I was young. But in SEVENTEEN, I don't feel like that. The outspoken members make sure to make a space for the reserved ones like me, Minghao and...”, Wonwoo looked up with a smile. "and Skye"

“Since Dino had to go to the emergency department of the hospital for his fever and stomach issues…you all need adjust the performances during the rehearsal itself so that you can make up for his parts...”, the stage director announced. The members nodded grimly.
“Well, he did say he was feeling weird for the last 2 days”, Skye mumbled to herself. “I hope no one else catches whatever is bothering him.”
As the time for the concert approached, Skye took her time and looked around the waiting room. Seungkwan was getting his foot taped up. Jeonghan was getting a last-minute massage in his shoulders that had been sore for quite some time now. With Dino missing, the situation didn’t look good at all. She prayed to whoever was up there that no one else fell sick.
Jeonghan looked up and noticed her face scrunched in worry. “Haneul-ah, don’t worry. Oppa is physically exhausted but mentally I’m excellent.” He flashed a thumbs up at her with the characteristic mischieveous grin adorning his face.
Skye cringed at the 2nd oldest referring to himself as oppa. All the members knew her aversion to this particular term. “Please lend your cheerful mindset to the tired ones instead of wasting it at such poor jokes, Jeonghan oppa …”, she emphasized on oppa this time in an attempt to tease him back with the hope it would lighten the mood.
But all her hopeful prayers came crushing down when she got to know that Wonwoo had collapsed when coming down from stage after the first set. She hurriedly changed into her next outfit and ran over to where the doctor was checking Wonwoo while some other staff members were massaging his limbs. She requested one of the staffs who moved away and Skye took her place, rubbing Wonwoo’s left palm.
“Wonwoo, you need to rest. I beg you. t=The rest of the members can cover for you today!!” Wonwoo struggled but managed to open his eyes as he was surprised to hear the girl's voice. She sounded terrified for some reason. He hadn't expected to see her there.
He shook his head.
Wonwoo had managed to get changed into the outfit for the next stage with the help of the staff and laid down until it was time to go up again. However, Skye hadn’t left his side. When he finally managed to get up and head to the stage for the Hip-Hop unit’s performance, she followed him to the backstage.”
He gave her a tired smile. “I will be okay. Go prepare for your next stage.”
[INTERVIEW]
Question: Your condition was not the best during the Japan leg of the tour... Did you start feeling sick before the concert started or were you okay till you went up on the stage?
“That day, the members were already very worried, going up onstage. We said, we should do the show well even with just 13”, Wonwoo said to the camera. “But I guess my body was in a worse condition than usual that day and I did start realizing that before the show commenced. I couldn't let it show though, since Dino was already missing. When we were performing the first song, I realized that it was going to be tough. My breathing felt heavier and that led to hyperventilation. So, even when I was just standing still... I felt like I was going to faint."
Question: Why did you decide to continue performing instead of just staying back and rest for that day?
“Well...our fans have spared their precious time to come see our performance and they are our priority…I didn't want to disappoint them, and if two members were missing... I felt we'd be letting them down.”
“And I didn't want to give up. If I was going to pass out, it was going to be after the show. I think that's why I ignored Skye’s pleading and I went back on stage.”, he explained. “Honestly, after all that unfolded in Japan, me and Skye got much closer.”
Question: Finally, anything want to say to the fans?
“Everyone in the world has something tough going for them, and I feel often, that I want to be their comfort. That's my driving force these days.”
[If you slow down for a moment, and catch your breath…]
[You can forever keep these passing moments in your heart.]

[Skye's MASTERLIST]
2019 ASIA ARTIST AWARDS IN VIETNAM
2019.11.27
“Just like we have seen in the previous years, 2019 has also witnessed the debut of several promising rookies.”., one of the hosts said brightly looking at the camera.
“And therefore, we have more than one recipient for the "Rookie of the Year" award… the recipients of this award for 2019 are:
AB6IX (Singer - Music),
ITZY (Singer - Music),
TXT (Singer - Music),
SKYE (Singer – part of group SEVENTEEN – Music)
and Ong Seong Wu (Actor - Television/Film).
Skye had continued to sit even after the winners were announced. It seemed as if her name as one of the winners hadn’t registered in her own ears. By the time Mingyu nudged her towards the stage, Hoshi was crying, DK was screaming, and Seungkwan was already planning the afterparty. She was in a daze awhile walking up to the stage, trying her best not to trip on her way given how much her limbs were shaking.
SEVENTEEN members were watching her with the proudest smiles on their faces. She could see BooSeokSoon cheering for her wildly. Woozi was also proudly applauding for their youngest; But when Skye went up to the mic for the speech, he could see her eyes searching for someone in the crowd. Her face slightly fell when she didn’t seem to find them. Woozi realized she was looking for their leader. He raised his hands to attract her attention despite the distance…as if to say that it was alright; there are still 12 individuals here for her.
Skye's speech ended with her tearing up as she thanked everyone, especially the leaders. “Hello everyone. I am Skye...a member of SEVENTEEN. This award has reached my hands today, all thanks to my members and the fans. Thank you…Pledis staff members. Thank you, CARATs for letting me pursuit my dream alongside my favourite people…and leaders, thank you for believing in me. I couldn’t have succeeded without you.”
SEVENTEEN: HIT THE ROAD
Woozi knew how much the leader's presence meant for the girl despite the fact she was still scared of him. How she wanted him to be there when her efforts were recognised. Although they were just 8 years apart, Seungcheol had almost become a father figure for her over the last 2 years. But sadly, he couldn’t be here with them today to witness this moment. Woozi knew how proud the oldest would be for the girl and how excited his reaction could be. So, despite his well-known aversion to physical affection, Woozi pulled the girl into a hug when she came down from the stage, surprising everyone around him.
“And the award for ‘Album of the Year’ goes to… SEVENTEEN for ‘An Ode’! Congratulations...!!!!!!”, the announcement came after Seventeen's FEAR M/V showed up on the screens. Skye had been zoning in and out when she felt Woozi’s hand creep into hers, pulling her back to reality. As the members hugged each other, they made their way to the stage, this time, altogether.
When they reached the stage, Seungkwan picked up the award and naturally handed it to Woozi, urging him towards the mic to say the thank you speech.
“Hello…we are SEVENTEEN.", Woozi's voice crackled into the microphone. "We are singers who produce our own albums and we have been awarded with this amazing title tonight. Right now, the biggest thing I feel is joy. And now that we were awarded ‘Album of the Year’, it feels like we got rewarded for all the efforts we put into this album. Our leader couldn’t be here today, but I assure you, all 14 of us will keep on working hard so that CARATs continue loving us with pride. Thank you.”
The tear stains were still prominent on Skye’s cheeks. After the group received their award and went backstage, the girl had found herself choking on her words again. The only thing she remembers doing on stage was bowing down when the members were done with the thank you speech. This time Woozi didn't waste a second to pull her back into his arms, mumbling assurances since he wasn’t sure what else to say.
“I wish Cheol was here too.”, she had croaked out.
The members had decided to leave them alone for a bit instead of crowding her.
“I know. I wish he was here too, Angel.”
The nickname startled Skye and Woozi felt her freeze up in his hold.
“Is that okay…if I call you that?”
Skye nodded after a bit.
(Post-performance, backstage)
Woozi who had finished changing back to his comfy black t-shirt was sitting before the camera for a short interview.
Question: “How does it feel to have won the Grand Prize at the award show tonight?”
“I mean… we already got our reward from our CARATs, but…with this award they have made yet another memorable moment for us.”, he said, softly smiling at the camera.

The members were seen spread around the dining space, some grabbing food, some already eating, some chatting with others or busy on their phone.
“I think I eat a lot. Although I can’t eat right before the performance but I think I eat a good amount when the members start to get their makeup done one by one, which gives us about 2 hours before the show”, Woozi was piling up his favourites onto a tray.
“Ah… I got too much food... there's no room left. I'll have to take it like this”. As he tried to precariously balance the tray to a nearest table, Jun got up from his seat and let Woozi settle down in it.
“Whoa…I wish I could eat that much… I feel like my stomach is getting smaller every passing day…”, Skye sighed across the table.
“Maybe it is…You can barely eat a big bowl of bowl of rice”, Woozi said as he poured some hot water into his ramen and set it aside. “You definitely need to eat more to prevent burn out in the middle of the tour…”
The camera zoomed in on his face that was contorted with concentration as he tried to mix the side-dish with the rice. "What did you check-up on during the pre-concert rehearsals today?", the director asked.
Woozi laughed. “I actually tried to check everything from start to finish. There is always so much to take care of on the stage...The size of the stage is different from Korea, so are the stage formations and there are slight adjustments to the cue sheet too.”
"Woozi-ssi, would you call yourself a perfectionist?", the director pressed.
“I wouldn’t really call myself a perfectionist…maybe just a bit particular about important things?”
INTERVIEW
UNIVERSE FACTORY
Question: You seem to spend a lot of time in your studio?
Woozi took a moment to look around his studio that he had decorated over time. “For me, the studio is literally the most comfortable space. I don't think of it as jst as my workplace. I often came here to relax even when I don’t have anything to do, just to zone out…sometimes I'll just listen to music... It is like, my second home? The members also drop by every now and then to record or just to talk and I think they also find this space comforting…”, Woozi says with a smile.
“Which member come by the most?”
“All the members usually record their parts in this studio…But I think Hoshi and Haneul…those two pop up frequently…Hoshi comes by mostly for impromptu karaoke sessions or just to brainstorm and write new songs…". The director nodded motioning him to continue. "But Haneul comes here with a book and stays on the couch reading it while I work by myself. Sometimes I make her listen to the tracks I am working on…ask her if she feels something is missing…other times, we just co-exist in this studio, busy in our own works. She also brings me meals in here because she believes I forget to eat when I am working…”
“Does that happen frequently?”
“No…probably once…or twice…”, he answers sheepishly. “But that’s only when its comeback season and I have no time to spare…”
Question: Woozi, Do you have any memorable instances in this studio? But the interview got interrupted before he could answer.
"Jiji, you asked me to come by...", Skye was seen peeking in. "Oh you are having an interview....I'll drop by later, then..."
Woozi shook his head and beckoned the girl in.
"I just got this question by the Director and I think we can answer it better together..."
"What question?", the girl enquired.
"He asked me if I have any memorable incidents in this studio..."
Skye looked back at him.
"You definitely have some...won't you?", she said. "After all, most of SEVENTEEN's albums were made in here..."
"I also met you here for the first time...remember? Even before you were introduced to the group....do you remember your first recording session, Haneul-ah?",Woozi curiously eyed the younger girl.
"For sure...I was too scared to even sing anything...and since Mingyu had recorded before me, the height of the mic was sky high!!", she scoffed out, as the memory came back.
"And apparently you were too scared of me to ask me to lower it...", Woozi deadpanned. "So you recorded on your tippy-toes until Bumzu hyung went inside and adjusted it for you..."
”Well you were scary...what did you expect me to do?"
"Yet the first thing you had to say after you got comfortable around me was that I should change my studio name..."
"Well, you told me to make myself comfortable and who on earth names their studio Universe Factory but has nothing related to space? You know that should be a crime...!!", she said in one breathe.
"And I listened to you...", the older male replied with a fond express making its way onto his face. "You are one hell of a space fan..."
"That's why my name makes sense", Skye winked at him. "And look how pretty this studio looks right now...aren't you glad you followed my advice?", she said, her eyes sweeping around the studio, gaze full of satisfaction. " You should show the camera how it looks with the mood lights..!!!"
"I never said I wasn't...", Woozi whispered.
"Huh?!", Skye turned back at him, confused as she couldn't catch what Woozi had just said.
Woozi cleared his throat.
"Nothing. Well, why don't you show them around ...you seem to know your way around the lights in here better than me..."
Skye noded happily as she guided the director around the room and Woozi looked on with the same fond expression.
Question: How do you approach the role of the main producer of the 13-member group?
“Some people do tell me that what I do looks so hard. But for me, this is just, literally my daily life. I think each member has something different that they do best…I think this is the thing I can do best. So naturally, that drives me to work hard. And I really love it, I really do…”
Question: What does SEVENTEEN mean to you?
“I'm so thankful to my members. Because they’re the ones who love my music the most, I can work with confidence on SEVENTEEN’s album… the members always tell me how proud they are that we are making our own albums. “
“Do you ever feel pressured?”, the Director asked from behind the camera.
Woozi took a moment to think.
“When I first debuted, I did feel pressured. When Skye was introduced, I again felt pressured because I had to include female vocals in male chords now…So I was hard on her too. But now, I'm receiving so much energy from the members...and Skye's voice seemms like iit belonged with us...we just had to find her…So, I'm always thankful to each of them.”
“Lastly, any message for the CARATs?”
“Everyone must have different backgrounds and different lives that they carry out, and they must've taken different paths on the way there. So, as long as the emotions are positive for the individuals who are listening to our music, I think that's good enough. Let’s keep supporting each other…”

ODE TO YOU _ OSAKA
08.10.2019

Skye couldn’t sit still on her seat. She was finally going to meet Jeonghan after almost 1.5 years. Joshua reached out and tried to calm her down but honestly, he understood her nerves. Jeonghan had been released yesterday and today Skye and him were flying back from Paris to Korea.
Now one might wonder why Skye was meeting Jeonghan after such a long gap since the 2nd oldest member of Seventeen had opted for social service due to his injuries and had been often found cheering for the group activities. But Skye had gone on a self-declared hiatus soon after the conclusion of the 2025 Caratland in March. When Jeonghan started his service, Skye had felt devastated to realize that this was just the start and now one by one she would have to temporarily bid goodbye to 8 more members sooner or later. She hadn’t been able to take that well emotionally. It might seem a little childish to peoplr outside the group but her members understood when after a long time of keeping to herself, Skye finally went up to them and told them her decision of temporary hiatus. Thay had witnessed her struggling for the past few months but gave her space so that she could come in terms with herself. So, when Skye had told them that she wanted to take a break from group schedules and go back to her homeland to finish her college studies, all the members had respected and supported her in her decision.
In early 2025, Skye left South Korea along with her manager Joy and went back to her parents. She did stay in contact with the group as much as possible but it was mostly through texts since her studies kept her busy while the members had their own schedules. But in between her studies, Skye found herself missing her life as Seventeen. So, she had gone back to Korea in September 2025 and talked to her company about her wish to start working on her own album. She would be working remotely with Bumzu and other producers, including some back in her home country. She came back from Korea right after when Hoshi and Woozi enlisted back-to-back and busied herself in her studies and making music. When the notice of contract renewal came, she was sure of one thing…she wanted to continue living her life with her members by her side. So, it was an easy yes for her.
But safe to say she hadn’t been able to meet Jeonghan since then. The day Jeonghan enlisted, Skye hadn’t been able to see him off because she was out of Korea for her appearance in the New York fashion week for the luxury brand, she was the ambassador of. This time during Jeonghan’s release, again both her and Joshua had to be present in Paris for the Paris fashion week and for the ‘UNESCO x SEVENTEEN: Celebrating Youth, Creativity, and Well-Being Together’ event. So, she had been only able to congratulate Jeonghan through text and promised him to pay a visit soon after she reached Korea…the older male had only replied with a wink. Joshua was the only one who had been a witness to how impatient she was to land in Seoul.
“Shua…can we pleaaase drop by Hannie’s dorm? Please…Joy has just checked with his manager and he will be staying at home the day we reach Korea…please…we can surprise him?” Skye had asked Shua with pleading eyes as they settled into their seats in the plane.
Shua had agreed and nodded with a smile. He was amazed at the girl's energy though. While he was dead-ass tired after attending events back-to-back and had opted to stay back in hotel to rest after the events were finally over, the younger girl had ventured out saying she wanted to go see the Eiffel tower last night. But he agreed since this meant that he could also meet his same age friend and congratulate him on his release from the mandatory service.
“We can, Dee...but aren’t you exhausted?”, he still asked.
She shrugged him off. Yes, she was feeling the tiredness creep up her bones but she had priorities. But all her plans of surprising the older male were out of the window since she fell asleep after fighting to stay awake for the first 10 hours in the plane. Skye had drifted into dreamland during the last 3 hours of the flight and her manager almost had to drag her out to the car with the help of Shua after they reached landed in Korea. Joshua and Skye’s house, although not near each other, fell in the same route and therefore they had decided to take the same ride back from the airport. But Shua and the two managers had other plans after the girl fell asleep.
In the car, as Skye snuggled into her neck pillow and wrapped the blanket around herself tighter, Shua motioned to Joy who winked back to him in return.
When Skye finally woke up, the room was dark, only the glowing red fonts of the digital clock on the doorway blinking the time 20:39. When she tried to search for her phone, that was nowhere to be found. So, she made her way out into the hallway which was also eerily dark. This was definitely not her own apartment. “So, where am I?”, Skye wandered. No sooner she was out of the room than a hand came in and covered her eyes. Skye instantly elbowed the person as hard as she could and sprinted away from them.
“Oww…this is how you greet your brother you haven’t seen in over a year?”, a voice too familiar rang out and the lights came back up. Skye’s face looked like a deer caught in the headlights and Joshua who was standing by the switchboard was losing his mind laughing.
“H-how did I end up at your flat?”, she gasped out as she looked alternately between the two older vocal unit members.
Jeonghan’s expression was that of betrayal but his mouth was twitching as he tried to keep his face from breaking into his characteristic mischievous smile.
“Well, I guess you missed me so much that you unknowingly teleported from the airplane right into my apartment.”, Jeonghan said with a smirk.
Skye wordlessly sprinted forward crushing him in a hug.
“Now that’s more like the grand welcome I expected…”, said Jeonghan as he leaned into her embrace.
“Thank me and Joy later…”, Joshua remarked from the back. It wasn’t clear who he addressed but Jeonghan smiled and nodded in response.
Skye slightly loosened her arms and looked up. Her eyes locked with Jeonghan. The latter was slightly taken aback when he saw the glossy eyes of younger girl. Skye didn’t realise when her eyes had watered up and when the tears had started rolling down. However, Jeonghan knew her well enough…she was sensitive…specially over persons she held close to her heart. Joshua had also taken a hint and closed the distance.
“Shouldn’t you be happy now? You promised me you won’t cry when I came back…”, Jeonghan said in a slightly whiny tone like that of a child.
Skye clearly remembered her own words. She had indeed promised that on the day before Jeonghan enlisted. But now she didn’t have control over herself. Staying away from the members she cherished more than anyone for a year had taken a toll on her emotionally but she hadn’t let it show over all the video calls they had had in the past year. Moreover, thanks to the time diffrences an Jeonghan's service timings, her contat with the second oldest had been closer to none. She wordlessly pulled both Joshua and Jeonghan into a tighter embrace and stuffed her face in between the older males. Both the boys hugged her tighter in response.
“Okay…you can cry as long as you remember your other promise…’, Jeonghan continued in a teasing tone.
“And what was that again?”, this time Joshua asked.
“She promised to bake me her famous orange cake…”
“Did I?”, Skye said in a muffled voice as her face was still ensconced between the two boys.
The boys smiled, relieved to hear the girl’s response on their attempts at lightening the mood.
“Hawww…”, Jeonghan gasped with a pout, pulling away from her and Skye leaned back towards Joshua with a mischievous expression on her face. “Shua take her back… I cannot host people who forgets their promises.”
“Okay…okay…’, Skye surrendered. “I’ll make you some if you buy me the ingredients…I cannot make a whole cake out of thin air…can I?”
“Then let’s order in?”, Joshua suggested.
“Nope…we should go to the convenience store…I feel like haven’t been in one of those in ages…”, Skye complained.
“That’s because you haven’t been here in ages…”, Joshua pointed out.
“Well…if you two are up for it, I have no issues.”, Jeonghan replied. “We can also pick something up for dinner…”
“Unless Joshua wants to cook…?”, Skye pepped in a playful tone. The said man shot him a glare.
“I am not doing anything tonight… I am dead tired…”
As the three of them made their way out of Jeonghan’s dorm, Skye clung on to Jeonghan’s arms.
“You have gotten thinner, Hannie”, she said.
“Good thing then that you are back to feed me your delicious desserts and fluff me up again!!”, Jeonghan said, booping her nose.
Sky sighed contentedly. She was glad she was finally back among her best friends just when they had started to come back again. Yes, it would take SEVENTEEN longer to re-unite as 13 again, but they had promised their fans and now she would wait alongside their CARATs until her 13 precious diamonds were back by her side again.
Author's note: I wanted to post this on the day of Hannie's return but so many things got in the way and I didn't feel like writinh at all. But I did end up writing the whole thing and here it is. Lemme know if y'all like it. I am so glad Jeonghan is finally back to us!!

As a Chinese member of the group Jun did face more difficulty in communicating with Skye as the girl hardly knew Chinese and her Korean, as mentioned before, was not the best. Meanwhile Jun lacked confidence in his English skills but with whatever words he had picked from the English speakers of the group and a translator app in his mobile phone, he tried his best to interact with Skye. In fact, when Skye seemed to struggle with her moves and seemed too scared to ask the dance leader who was known for his strictness, Junhui approached her and somehow managed to convey his intention to the girl without scaring her away. He was a huge help to Skye since then as she seemed to realize that it was okay to ask him for help. Jun had once made Chinese food for her when she had skipped dinner due to a recording session but he had put in a lot of spice to make it tasty without knowing Skye’s weak taste buds. It was that near death experience that led Skye to reveal her eating habits to the group.
Present day:
Junhui is Skye’s partner-in-crime in the craziest things. Ever since Skye got a proper grip over Korean language, this man has been teaching her the worst dad jokes in Korean and together they are unstoppable. Often the members post videos where Seventeen is sitting around in the artist lounge and either Jun or Skye is seen starting a joke while the other delivers the punch line with a very serious face. The members groan out loud while these two are seen to take great pleasure at the whole scenario.
Skye is also the loudest supporter of Jun’s 1+1 idea…she has visited Junhui’s hometown more than once when she had to shoot in China and understands why Jun wants to bring all the members there. Jun took her to the famous festival of lights that his home town is famous for and Skye was almost convinced to move to Shenzen by that alone. Junhui’s younger brother also adores Skye and has designated her the position of his favorite Jiějiě.
Kwon Soonyoung/ Hoshi
Early days:
Hoshi could feel the frown in between his brows deepen with time as the video of the ‘new member’ dancing to Adore You played on his phone for the Nth number of time. He had been in a bright mood after a really funny Going Seventeen episode shoot with the members until the leaders were summoned by their CEO who dropped the bomb on them, without any warning whatsoever. The company had not discussed anything with the group and today they just informed the leaders of the future developments. Moreover, the leaders weren’t even allowed to discuss all these with the other members who were to be informed by the company itself 2 weeks later.
Hoshi was dying inside. He had tried to steal glances at Coups when the CEO was ranting on about how a new female member could benefit the group. Coups’ expression clearly indicated that their general leader was lost in his mind. One glance at Woozi showed the latter was equally agitated as Hoshi himself but kept quiet. Hoshi knew that this was going to be final anyways. Coups wouldn’t be able to do anything cause the group had barely stepped in their 4th year and they were bound to follow the Company’s decisions as per their contract.
As he glanced at his phone again, Hoshi realized that he had only one option. He would have to step in personally in training and polishing the girl’s dance moves. If she was going to step into the world of Seventeen, she better fasten her seatbelts and be prepared for the intense ride Hoshi was preparing for her.
Present day:
Skye can’t deny that Hoshi gave her the hardest time in her pre-debut and early post-debut days. But She also can’t deny that Hoshi lauds the loudest after every solo performance. Hoshi shows up at all of her solo MV shoots. Ever since Skye actually started enjoying dancing, Hoshi always compliments her unique style. Despite having a short stature compared to the other members, Skye dominates the stage with her stomping dancing style. When Spider was released, these two did a TikTok challenge together while hanging from those bars that were use in the choreography and it blew up so hard in social media that Hoshi now makes sure to shoot at least one challenge with her every time, he releases something.
Hoshi also keeps on finding dog cafes so that Latte can have playdates with the puppies of Skye. CARATs have spotted these two taking their dogs for walks along the Han River.
#971717">Minghao/ THE8
Early days:
Minghao didn’t know which side was having it worse with regard to the addition of a new member – the group or the girl who was getting added. So, he just introduced himself to the girl and decided to observe her from afar. She seemed quiet and he understood and respected her quietness. He understood it was natural for someone, especially a girl to try to keep to herself when she was tossed into a group of 13 idols who had around 4 years of experience. The boys had bonded cover shared experiences over a span of almost half a decade; meanwhile, she was a brand-new person who had to figure out her place amongst all of them. So, he gave her space. The language barrier also contributed. But he also tried to be there for her through small actions like extending a water bottle or a towel when she was huffing after an intense practice session with Hoshi, making sure the jellies that she always reached for were present in the cupboard of their practice room and so on. Skye did notice his small actions and was grateful although she was too shy to give voice to that.
Present day:
Although Minghao tried to be considerate to Skye from the beginning instead of unleashing the frustration the entire group felt on their Company’s decision, these two ended up having a huge fight over the issue of Skye’s joining the group soon after she officially debuted with them. During one of the stages of HIT, when the disagreement was still on, Minghao got distracted and ended up crashing into Skye causing an accident. He felt so guilty at that that he promised to never take any issue on to the stage.
Minghao and Skye were signed as the ambassadors of a Chinese-Canadian travel agency and therefore they have frequently been to each other’s birth places. The first time he visited Canada, Skye took him to see the Niagara Falls and Hao made her promise that they would visit there again. Also, every time Skye has any schedule in China his parents make sure she visits their house at least once. They even send him New Year’s money.
Minghao is Skye’s go to fashion advisor. Their styles aren’t similar but the man surely knows how to make her look badass or cute as she demands depending on the situation.
Chan/ Dino
Early days:
Chan became a trainee himself when he was around 13 and since then he had grown up surrounded by 12 big brothers. He had grown up in with a younger brother and ever since his debut or even before them he always abided by the company’s warnings of steering away from girls to avoid controversies. SO, when a girl was introduced into their group in their 4th year, he was bamboozled around her. The boy was excited that he wasn’t the youngest if the group anymore cause even though he knew that his older brothers adored him, sometimes he found that adoration too much to handle. On the other hand, however, Chan didn’t know how to approach the new maknae or how to carry himself around her. Either he was too polite to say something and if he tried to something good for her, he ended up saying the wrong things at the wrong time and that always ended up with both Chan and Skye getting flustered. But these two also fought a lot. When Skye joined to train with Seventeen, she was still an angsty teenager who lashed out at almost everything. So, although Dono’s advises were intended for her benefit, she ended up retaliating badly, leading to a heated environment between the two youngest members.
Present day:
Dino and Skye were initially awkward around each other. But once they grew comfortable, Dino didn’t hesitate to baby her and tease her as he finally had someone to treat the same way he had been treated by his 12 older members. Dino had always wandered how it would feel to have a younger member in the group He pranked her but also adored her so much that she ended up fleeing to escape his antiques. However, the youngest two also teamed up often to pull pranks on the older ones or to sneak away for snacks when no one is watching. Skye was highly inspired by Dino who always made it sure to give it his all as he spent hours in the practice room. Skye also participated in Dino’s Danceology more than once and even choreographed one of them.

Seungcheol was only a few pulls away from tearing all his hair off since he was called to the CEO’s cubicle one fine day along with the 2 other leaders. They couldn’t say anything against the head of the company but as soon as they were out of the room that seemed to suffocate all 3; despite the strong air conditioner breeze, he could hear the dance leader go off with a series of reasons why this was a disastrous idea – including a female girl, or rather child, in an all-male group. As if Seungcheol had not started running a list of the pros and cons in his own head as soon as the words left the mouth of their CEO. He waved the other 2 off saying he needed to clear his head and to a great displeasure of Hoshi, made his way towards the terrace of the building.
Seungcheol stopped short on his steps when he saw the door to the terrace was slid open and the dim light on. The frail silhouette of a young girl was sitting on one of the extra chairs usually kept on the terrace due to lack of storage space. He paused and looked at her for a while before clearing his throat. The silhouette got startled and looked back when Seungcheol saw the glassy eyes of the girl whose picture they had just been shown just a while ago… their newest member-to-be. The girl also seemed to recognize him as she jerked up and mumbled a quick apology before running off downwards.
For the last 1 hour the leader of Seventeen was slightly annoyed at the new person who was suddenly being inserted into their group …the success they had till date was a result of all 13’s hard work for years. “Who was this person to get an easy access to their hard-earned success out of nowhere?”, he tried to reason in his mind that was trying to cast her into the molds of the villain. However, he hadn’t really thought how this decision must have been difficult from her viewpoint as well. As far as he knew, she was supposed to debut with a girl group and instead she was suddenly informed about a drastic change before her journey even started…so who was at fault? The confusion and anger gnawing inside him augmented as now he couldn’t blame the other side either.
In her trainee days with Seventeen and first few months of her debut, Skye maintained her distance from S.Coups since she was scared to approach her directly but she respected her a lot and looked up to his leadership.
Present day:
S.Coups and Skye are almost 2 peas in a pod and honestly, both of them being Leo, it makes sense. Their birthdays being only about a week apart, they usually celebrate it together ever since the pandemic. It didn’t take Skye too long to get close to the leader. They got closer in the period S.Coups’ hiatus in 2019 and besides Mingyu, Skye played a major role in helping their leader out of the slump.
As for Skye, she doesn't go to Coups often becuase she feels that he already bears too much as the leader but she seeeks him out a times when she feels she is failing as a member or as a person and needs assurance from her leader.
For the fun part, Skye, like Coups, sulks when her members forget to wish her at 12am on her birthday; Skye also hates when someone calls her by her full name. Skye also is Coups’ only supporter when he is teased by the other two 95liners. However, she never spares a chance to tease the leader when the two of them are by themselves.
Jeon Wonwoo
Early days:
Wonwoo, despite having a caring nature, was known amongst his members for not showing his emotions too easily, especially to newer persons. So, when the new girl came in, no one actually expected to see any noticeable change in Wonwoo’s stance. The only change that his members came across was how he put up his guards a little higher whenever she was practicing with them. Wonwoo had introduced himself politely to her on the 1st day and since then the only times he was seen near her was if and when their choreography formations demanded so. During breaks both Wonwoo and Skye recoiled into their own spaces with Wonwoo getting engrossed in his phone or laptop while Skye monitored the choreography or went up to their teacher to brush over the moves. So, it’s safe to say that during Skye’s early days, neither of these two introverts stepped into each other’s sphere unless they were forced to do so.
Present day:
Skye an Wonwoo both are dependent on their glasses and actually looks really good in those. They got so hyped by the CARATS as ‘the glasses duo’ of Seventeen that a major spectacles company ended up signing both of them as its brand ambassadors. They bask in each other’s quiet company. Soon after she joined them Wonwoo had discovered her love for reading fictions and since she isn’t particularly fond of reading in Korean, he started looking for English translations of popular Korean fictions. Skye also enjoys photography but isn’t particularly good at it. So Wonwoo has voluntarily taken up the task of training her how to be good behind the lens. But to Wonwoo’s disappointment, Skye sucks at online games and hates playing them since the sounds often end up triggering her migraines.
Wonwoo also provides comfort to Skye without asking any questions but is of great help when she goes up to him when she feels lost.
Kim Mingyu
Early days:
Like Jeonghan, Mingyu, who also has a younger sister and is quite close to her, readily decided in his head that he was going to be kind to the little lady who had just showed up and looked almost terrified. In the practice room filled to the brim with sweat and testosterone. Always known to be the bearer of optimism in the group, Mingyu found the best possible sides of a new person that too a girl joining their team.
When the members were discussing the pros and cons of their company’s decision amongst themselves, Mingyu gladly pointed out the ways they could actually benefit from this situation, how they could target a younger audience and so on. Skye also found comfort in the giant puppy energy that he radiated ever since he welcomed her with his broken English on the very 1st day. Mingyu’s caring nature also showed through every time he made sure to make a non-spicy version of any food he made for the group once they got to know about her lack of spice tolerance.
Present day:
Mingyu is the sun to Sky’s moon. The girl has a bad habit of always imagining the worst in every situation and God knows what would have happened if Mingyu wasn’t there whispering assurances to her every time she felt dubious about herself. Mingyu always says that Skye’s face has subtitles and even when she tries to avoid saying mean things to anyone out of politeness, her annoyance clearly shows up in her expressions. So, it is Mingyu who nudges her every time to make sure that her real feelings stay hidden as per the situation. Mingyu also knows how to make the comfort food she craves whenever she is sick -a dish that his mother used to prepare for him, but he adjusted it as per her taste. Skye’s manager tried to learn making it but it didn’t meet the girl’s taste. SO it is Mingyu who always comes to the rescue unless he is out of the country.
Chwe Hansol/ Vernon:
Early days:
As another member with a younger sister almost as old as Skye, the latter piqued Vernon’s curiosity the very 1st day she entered the practice room with their CEO. So, when Joshua glanced at him from across the room after her brief introduction, he nodded to the older male. He accompanied Joshua as the older male introduced himself to the girl in English during their 1st break from practice. Vernon, clueless at how to approach her, offered her the yogurt drink that he and his sister loved and asked her where she was from. The younger girl looked visibly calmer as he tried to communicate in English instead of the Korean that she is used to hear around her in this nation and accepted the drink. Hesitation flicked at her expression but she didn’t voice any, Vernon didn’t know if that was out of politeness or just her 1st day jitters.
Unlike Seungkwan who was slightly displeased at Skye’s bashful nature at first, Vernon tried to communicate with her from that very day and gradually Skye felt at ease being herself around him. Being around Vernon was effortless as he allowed her to exist in her own sphere yet he was approachable enough for the newbie.
Present day:
Skye firmly believes that Vernon is one of the most genuine persons on earth. The older man usually lives in his own bubble and Skye is amazed by his artistic spirit. She has always noted how Vernon seems to quietly care for his member without ever making a big deal out of it. Despite his nonchalant behavior, he cares a lot about the people around him and the silly side that he only shows to when he is around his closest people is adorable to Skye. Vernon had introduced his siter Sofia to Skye and the two girls have developed one of the closest bonds since then. Skye often makes an appearance in Sofia’s vlogs and Vernon is frequently seen hanging out with his 2 sisters.
Although he doesn’t show much of it to people, Vernon is as protective of Skye as Jeonghan is. He is her greatest cheer-leader both in the unfamiliar steps she decides to take in her career and every whimsical crafts she randomly decides to make in her daily life.

This is a work of purely speculative fiction. The events, alternate universes, and character actions within this story are not based on reality. The views, speech, and actions of the fictional characters do not reflect the opinions of the author.
Jeonghan has a sister who is slightly older than Skye and therefore gladly took up the older brother role as they got close with time. Skye’s Korean was worse when the company announced its decision to add her in SEVENTEEN; When she started training with the boys, her Korean was still rusty and therefore the only members who could communicate with her comfortably were Vernon and Joshua, both of whom were fortunately excited at the prospect of her joining the group. Jeonghan got to know her as he was always tagging along with Joshua and the latter worked as a translator between the girl and the older boy. Jeonghan, despite known for his teasing nature, made sure to take his time to make Skye comfortable around him as he gently helped her navigate the life with Seventeen.
Present day:
The present camaraderie between Jeonghan and Skye is mostly playful banter except Skye curses the hell out of Jeonghan (and Joshua) when they cheat during the various games that they play during Going Seventeen. However, when she’s on the same team as Jeonghan and the latter manages to cheat his way to victory, she only voices her disappointment but if he cheats from the opposite team and Skye catches onto that then chaos unfolds. Once Skye was seen chasing Jeonghan with a freaking rolling pin when he playfully stole the pasta she had made during the shoot of a cooking content!
But fun and games aside, Jeonghan is almost fiercely protective of Skye. Among all of Seventeen, Jeonghan has probably taken up the big brother role with the greatest sincerity. Skye had injured her arm during the Follow tour when Jeonghan was on temporary hiatus after his ankle surgery and that man had threatened to take a plane to Japan despite his injury just to ensure his sister was alright (He could be stopped only after Skye agreed to take some time off the tour and other schedules to heal herself).
Hong Jisoo/Joshua:
Early days:
When Joshua first saw Skye, the 15-year-old looked unusually timid to her as she introduced herself to the group. He could guess from her looks and her slightly awkward Korean that she was definitely not a native to the country. He nudged Vernon as they shared a look and decided to approach her when they got a break from practice. They had been informed about this decision about 2 weeks ago. A majority of the members were still coming in terms with this change and Skye also seemed equally scared, if not more. The least Joshua thought they could do was make sure the practice room alone wouldn’t scare her away on the very first day. As he re-introduced himself to her, this time in English, and saw how relief washed on her young face, he smiled at Vernon.
Present day:
Skye and Joshua bicker back and forth just like she does with Jeonghan except Joshua is our girl’s best friend in the group, alongside Vernon. He made sure to make her comfortable since day 1 and she can talk to him about everything freely without any judgement. Yes, sometimes he does act brotherly and gets all concerned due to her lack of self-preservation but he tries his best to be the safe space for her. Although the families of all the members treat her like their own daughter, Skye is probably the closest to Joshua’s mum. Joshua being an only child loves to see her mum bicker with the daughter she never had before Skye. Joshua is also often found teaching her how to play songs on the guitar. Skye hears a song and likes the tune one day…the next day Joshua is found trying to learn playing that tune on his guitar because Skye asked him to teach her.
Lee Jihoon/ Woozi:
Early days:
As the main producer and one of the 3 leaders of Seventeen, Woozi was rightfully concerned about the Company’s sudden decision to include a new member, and that too a girl in the boys’ group. He already had the pressure of composing all the songs for the group but he had molded himself in that role with the help of their producer Bumzu as their company continued to highlight the fact that they were a self-producing group; but throwing a girl in the mix meant sending a jolt to what the group had built since 2015; it meant now he would have to compose songs keeping in mind how to highlight her voice without making it stand out alone like a mismatched puzzle piece. Would her vocals even match the usual tone of the group? Woozi, for one was all for experimenting with new genres to make sure his group’s music could keep pace with the trends and also met what their fans’ expectations; but a new member might throw everything into a jeopardy and he wouldn’t allow his slowly built family and all their efforts to go to waste over a random decision of their company.
Present day:
Woozi didn’t realize if there was any particular moment when his initial annoyance at having a girl in the group vanished and was gradually replaced by a warmth in his chest every time, he looked at her. Or probably he does. He had started training Skye for her vocal lessons and was surprised to discover how well her voice blended with the rest of the members. Despite his initial worries about how to include her in the group, he actually felt her voice was somehow the missing piece that completed Seventeen’s songs. Woozi had realized this fact the first time he tried to use her voice records in some of their older songs but he didn’t know that Skye herself was insecure about her voice
Woozi was the one who helped her discover how her voice was unique and how she could use it to benefit herself rather than fighting it.
Woozi knows how she actually wants to produce songs herself because she’s always there in his studio whenever she’s free but she is not confident in her creations nor in her Korean writing skills. So, he encouraged her to write verses in English. HE started giving her topics and asked her o try writing some verses on that topic without any pressure. This exercise hugely helped raising Skye’s confidence and ultimately led her to compose lines in several Seventeen songs like Rock wit you, Darling, Love Monay Fame. In fact, she co-composed Woozi’s mixtape- Ruby with alongside the man himself.
Lee Seokmin/ Dokyeom/ DK:
Early days:
At first Dokyeom didn’t believe when their CEO and Ms. Hyelim came into their practice room and informed them of this new development. “A 15-year-old girl? Really?”, was what he thought. When the said girl was brought in 2 weeks later, the nervousness on the naive girl’s face threw him back to his own first day. Dokyeom remembered how he had messed up in greeting his senior trainees on the day he joined and how he was almost terrorized when someone had pointed it out. So, he was determined to make sure that this girl was not pushed into a similar situation. He trusted his members won’t be that socially inept to someone new but still he would personally be there to ensure that even the indifferent comments would not reach her. But he would have to ask for help from either Joshua or Vernon cause if her introduction revealed anything, she wasn’t definitely the best at communicating in his native language.
Present day:
We all have seen how Dokyeom ends up crying in the recording studio whenever the process is not going as he wanted and he gets frustrated because he wants to do his best; but Skye is probably the only one who can compete with him in that field. The first time she cried was while recording DoReMi for their Semicolon album. She was exasperated because even after n number of tries her voice was simply not cooperating. It sounded out of tune every time she tried. When her voice finally broke and teras streamed down freely along her cheeks, Woozi and Seungkwan could only ask one person for help: Dokyeom. The said man was indeed able to calm her down and since then Woozi has unofficially made it sure that these two have their recording sessions scheduled one after another so they can be there for each other if things go the wrong way. DK and Skye are also the first ones to cry during concert encores and the members and CARATs have officially termed them ‘the sensitive duo’.
Boo Seungkwan:
Early days:
Seungkwan, the variety show boy, was there when the announcement of Skye’s addition was made but he we could not be there on the day she was introduced to the group. Seungkwan was honestly not against adding a girl to the group…he thought it would add to Seventeen’s natural flair as the boy group who was already drew attention for having so many members. He had expected someone witty enough foe the company to have chosen her for a group as boisterous as Seventeen. So, imagine the harsh reality check he got when he came to the practice room the next day and saw the shy girl keeping to herself throughout the practice. When Vernon introduced him to the girl, she gave him a tiny bow and mumbled a small introduction before running away with the excuse to fill up her water bottle. When his friend laughed silently st her reaction, he turned to him with an exasperated expression. Despite his repeated insistence, Seungkwan was strict senior in his early days, his value system having been shaped by his own seniors who had a similar boomer mentality. He was clearly not impressed with the timid response he received instead of the enthusiastic one that he expected.
Present day:
Seungkwan actually contributed a lot for Skye to open up. Seungkwan was already known for his flair in his variety show appearances even in his early years and the Company decided to pair Skye along with Seungkwan in the shows to ensure she got enough spotlight. Despite his initial disapproval to her introverted nature, Seungkwan actually protected her from mean comments from the show hosts who targeted her quiet demeanor and guided her how to navigate the industry. As for Skye, she had always admired the legendary high notes of Seungkwan and had once gathered enough courage to ask him how he did that. Seungkwan gladly helped her and now often teases her that she has gained enough skills to challenge his position as the main vocal of the group.s
The members call her Haneul (meaning Sky in Korean) – a name given originally by Woozi and Jeonghan;
Junhui and The8 call her Yuè ( which directly means "moon") due to her immense love for the moon.
Vernon and Joshua often refer to her as Dee (as in D – the 1st letter of her English name).
Given her name is Dia, CARAT often calls her the Diamond Maknae of the group.

Zodiac: Leo.
Height: 160 cm.
Blood Type: O
MBTI Type: INFP

Sub-unit: Since she joined SVT in 2019, she was not placed in a fixed unit. Every comeback, she rotates in each unit… hence Seventeen and CARAT refer to her as the ace.

Mini-Teen character: Mimi (a grizzly bear).

Skye vocal range, unlike other female kop trainees has a slightly basal tone, meaning she cannot sing as high as most female singers but can sing much lower notes. This makes sure her voice doesn’t stand out too much in a song with 13 males.
Skye wasn’t particularly good at dance. It was after rigorous training at Pledis for 3 years that her hands and feet started coordinating.
Rap is not her strongest suit but once she gets the hang of the beats, she kills it in the performances.

Skye was used to talking in her mother tongue and English with her parents. Her aunt made sure to sign her up in a Korean language class once she came to Korea and she did manage to learn the Hanguk alphabets fast but it took her time to get a hold on the language as a whole.
When she joined Pledis as a trainee, she was given Korean lessons there as well but in the midst of all other skill training her language skills didn’t improve much during that time;
Skye is fluent in her mother tongue, English, Spanish and Korean. As for Japanese, she started learning it alongside Jeonghan and both have similar skills in that language. However, she still gets confused if a Korean or Japanese conversation picks up too much pace or when too many uncommon Korean words are used.; she has also learnt to use basic Chinese and Mandarin, thanks to Junhui and Minghao.

Skye has 2 furry babies - a Bichon Frise (Snow) - since 2021 and a brown toy poodle (Caramel) -since 2023. Both are rescued puppies and they usually stay with her manager's parents whenever she is away for touring.
Likes: Reading fictions (some times she can be seen picking up self help books as well), going for long walks by herself while blasting music in her headphones, swimming, going for long drives (though she doesn't have a license herself and usually tags along with her members or other friends).
Dislikes: People who behave as if they know-it-all, disrespecting/slandering anyone based on their looks/ body-shaming, anyone throwing shade to her members.
