Can confirm the struggle.
An older video of Thomas Pridgen talking about how to develop speed.
One of my favorite things to do is turn on the metronome and play single strokes with each limb or whatever rudiment I’m working on at varying speeds and just totally trance out and play until those muscles can’t go anymore. It’s really meditative for me and a great way to build speed quickly. If you’re just getting into this, make sure you focus intensely on your technique. Try to understand the mechanics of each stroke and how to do it most efficiently and strive to perfect that, no matter how slow you have to start.
Practice makes perfect Perfect practice makes perfect
battlefield drums. Blue Acryl. Flat tom tom. Love it!
Dope
Luke Holland killing it to “Where Are Ü Now” by Jack Ü
Luke Holland giving us his interpretation of Skrillex’s track “Dirty Vibe”
Everything about this was perfect, from the composition to the cinematography to the audio production. So fresh. This kid just continues to show the world why he is one of the most talented drummers of his generation, and he’s not showing any signs of slowing down
Alex Rudinger performing Monument’s “I, The Creator”
This just rules so hard, and that SNARE. hnnnnggggg
Nathaniel Townsley. INcredible solo.
Latin Drummer Gives Amazing Street Performance [Video]
Cooking Up Latin Beats This professional percussionist is nothing short of captivating! With a large set of pots and pans crowded around him, this latin drummer stirs up some intense latin rhythms to amaze bystanders.
Dear drum machines: eat this!
Great textures
Travis Orbin. "Zyglrox" by Periphery. wtf.
This I like.
Aaron Ovecka of I, The Breather perfoming "Forgiven"
My initial reaction was that of underwhelment (is that a word?) and questioning what happened to their old drummer. As the song went on, I couldn't help but be impressed with how solid he is. I love the bit of flair he adds, like the casual little flip at 1:05. Not bad dude, not bad.
Brandon Burkhalter tearing apart Fallujah's "Sapphire". This kid is just fucking good. It's a shame he's not in Polyphia anymore.
Joey Baca performing Language I and II live. I always thought Joey was a great drummer, but I never focused much on his playing until Language was released. That became even more true after I saw them perform at a smaller venue where I could see him play about 10 feet in front of me. He's the kind of guy that plays true to the album, and I appreciate the shit out of that. The dude is a phenomenal drummer and his live performance does not disappoint.
Released today by Luke Holland, his cover of Animals As Leaders "Kascade".
This is not only his best cover to date, but one of the sickest drum covers I've seen in general. Top-fucking-shelf.
Here's Anika Nilles playing to her track "Alter Ego". This girl KILLS IT.
