SPOILER AHEAD:
Definitely.
Audrey Bhatt, from @1998game 💙
What is your next project? Can you give us some little spoiler?
Well, there was an idea floating around about a mystery/thriller type horror game in the future... For now, I’m going to try and be a part of team efforts and comtribute art and music to other games!
Do you intend to do a sequel of this game in the future, showing more about Rachel?
That’s a cool idea! I really enjoyed writing her dialogue. I think I’m going to move on to another project first, though. For now, I’m interested in doing something different. Maybe I’ll get around to it!
WALKTHROUGH!
Here’s a walkthrough to find all three endings if you’re finding it difficult.
I'm here to say I really loved your game. The characters are really good, and I didn't like Audrey at first, but watching her development was really good. What I liked the most was the realism on them; they felt like real people you met somewhere. Your art is really great and I loved it being really sketchy, the ost really catches the atmosphere of the game and I loved it. The only bad thing is that the game was really short, but still, it's a really good game. Sorry if my english is bad.
Thank you so much! I’m so glad you enjoyed it. Your English is great :)
any chance of doing a walkthrough how to get all the endings?
Sure! I was waiting for someone to request one. I’ll be sure to get around to posting that soon.
Hi!! Just wanted to say I just completed your game... it was wonderful! I loved the areas that were colored, it was absolutely gorgeous. I really enjoyed the little hints, especially the ones at the library! It really gave insight to the characters. It's such a sweet and simple game, I loved it!! The music was also REALLY pretty, it added a lot to the game. Thank you for making it <3
Thank you so much! This was so sweet to hear. I’m really glad you enjoyed it!
I had no idea this would take me a YEAR. I also can’t believe how short it turned out…Maybe it just seems short to me.
I can’t wait to move on to new games! I’m definitely willing to collaborate with art and music for other games if I get the chance!

As Audrey enters her year of high school, she swirls into a crisis as she realizes that her bitterness and contempt has prevented her from having an enjoyable childhood, and there’s not much of it left to fix that. Her cynical outlook starts to change, however, when she meets Jun, a boy who just moved into her town.

Thank you so much to everyone who stuck with the development of this game. Have fun playing!
Beta testing is now closed!
Thanks so much to everyone that helped out. The game is almost ready for a final release! If I had to give a rough estimate, I’d say it’s about 90% done. There are some new screenshots on the rpgmaker.net page and some new songs on Soundcloud if you wanna check those out. Expect big news soon!
More screencaps!
Beta testing is still open to whoever wants to get the first peek at the game! Contact me if you’re interested!
READY FOR BETA TESTING!
I’m proud to announce that after a long hiatus 1998 is finally availible for beta testing. Here’s what I’ll need:
- 15 testers max. The first 15 who contact me will be able to test.
- Message me saying you’d be interested, and I’ll send you the download link. You can message me directly to this account, or to https://rpgmaker.net/users/averageavacado/
-After you finish the game, be sure to send me a DETAILED critique. Don’t be afraid to sound harsh! I’m looking for things that are WRONG, not right. I might not be able to get around to every criticism, however. Things like bugs and screwy events take priority over everything else. Be on the lookout for those.
I’m sure you guys will be able to provide fantastic help. Don’t hesitate to send any comments or questions while you’re playing the game.

Sorry about the hiatus, life got a little insane. Glad to be back on track now.
I’m ready for @1998game to fuck me up 👌
This is so beautiful!! Thank you so much!
Progress Report!
Maps: 100% Music: 83% Programming: 50% Fullscreen Art: 40% TOTAL PROGRESS: 68% I'll probably add in some sprites here and there, but the game is definitely coming along. There's only a little less than a third of the game left to complete, a number that includes all the art and music, which I expect will get completed fairly quickly. Again, thank you so much for sticking with this project! I sincerely hope there's been enough updates to keep everyone informed on the game's progress.
Monochrome (Reprise) is out on Soundcloud!
This is probably the final single that will be released. The rest music will be released in an album when the game is completed.
Here’s a sneak peek of another one of the fullscreen events! They’re halfway done by now.
Looks like the game isn’t going to come out in June after all, and I apologize for that, but the beta testing phase should begin fairly soon.
Thanks for sticking with this project!
