Is it just me or do other also miss the times where the fandom was at its peak? Like, your notifications were filled with theories, facts, fanfictions, drawings and only God knows what else.
Now it's dead silent. Even when Moonvale was released and the side story began, the fandom was still dead compared to what it once was.
The nostalgia hits hard these last days and I'm so happy I was able to be part of duskwood's peak 🙏🏻
Hell no, you're absolutely not the only one. I think about it more than I like to admit. I mean, it was literally my whole life for, I don't know, three years? I did nothing else. My life was dedicated to this random and gods, I miss it. A lot.
I mean, this random was very close, people were all with each other, not just strangers posting. It was such a deep and amazing experience and I love thinking back to those time and to all the amazing people I've met through it and communicated with. Like, I had so many laughs and just a fantastic time. And everything was filled with friends posting about the thing they love the same.
I think, and I really don't mean it as hate or anything, Moonvale is not just duskwood. Like the emotional connection we had with duskwood was just out of the ordinary in a positive way and so far, Moonvale couldn't achieve that, at least not for me. With a success as duskwood was its just hard to create something even bigger.
So yes, I often think back and to it. And to be honest, it's also what makes it a bit harder for me nowadays, it's quiet and yeah, just not as close anymore. It does feel like posting is a suggestion. Like shyly 'Hey, here I have this post, can it be here? Is it okay?' when it used to be a whole hype from many.
I thought about going back with, I believe I called it 'throwback Sunday', when I reblogged posts from back then and I would really like doing it again to bring back a bit of the old feeling.
Nostalgia is a hard thing. It's bittersweet. It reminds of us beautiful time we have experienced she, at the same time, if also shoes is what it isn't anymore and that can hurt a lot, even if it's 'just' about a fandom on tumbler. Things change and grow but it still leaves some sadness and nostalgia behind. But you said it perfectly, we can be grateful for what we have experienced here and what we could see and read here. Even if we don't have it anymore, it was there and it made our lives a little easier. 💚
