Before the sun was even up Kayla decided it would be a great idea to make muffins for everyone. The smell of blueberry muffins awoke Niall and Alyssa.
“Are those Kayla’s famous blueberry muffins I smell?!” Niall and Alyssa yelled in unison.
“Of course they are” Kayla laughed, “I’ve been making them ever since we became friends 7 years ago.”
As everyone began to make their way into the living area Kayla happened to look outside, “Y’all we should go watch the sunrise from the top of the RV while eating breakfast!”
“Kayla you sound like a seven year old that just got told they were going to a candy store”
“Louis, says the person that acts like said 7 year old”
After everyone got their breakfast they headed out of the RV.
“I just have one question how the heck do we get up to the top of the RV??”
All the boys looked at each other and knew exactly what to do. Each one wakes up to their girlfriend and picked them up and attempted lifting them up.
After struggling for 2 minutes and making all sorts of grunting sounds the boys finally gave up.
“You know what us girls got you. Time to put our cheer into practice ladies.”
“Letssss goooooo” Alyssa yelled across the parking lot.
All at once the girls ran over to where Zayn was standing and got into their forms and lifted Zayn all the way to the roof of the RV.
“What the fre-woah it looks so cool from up here.”
After quickly boosting all the boys up to the roof they all helped one another up there too until it got down to Kayla and Alyssa.
“Well crap how the heck are we going to get up there?” Alyssa looked at Kayla.
“I got you boo. It’s time to bust out the two people pyramid.” Kayla smirked
A bunch of high pitched ooooooos left the girls mouths while the guys looked at one another with confused expressions.
Kayla quickly got on her hands and knees while alyssa climbed on top of her back. Slowly Kayla started rising while Alyssa transitioned her feet to Kayla’s shoulders and then head. Kayla slowly starts to stand up while screaming.
“This seems like a really bad idea.” Liam states.
“No Sh-dip Sherlock”
After screaming for literally 30 seconds Kayla got Alyssa on top of the RV. Alyssa then proceeds to lay on her stomach while the other girls lower her down the side of the vehicle. Kayla grabs Alyssa’s hand and uses it as a climbing rope while walked up the side of the RV.
“FREAKING YOU DID NOT JUST PUT YOUR FREAKING DIRTY DIRTBAG SHOES ON THE SIDE OFMY FREAKING SPARKLING RV”
“Take a chill pill. At least we are all up here and have everything we need.”
“Uhh I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but....... I forgot the milk”
“Louis you had ONE freaking job” Kayla pointed at Louis.
“Wait I got you” Louis approaches the windshield and slides down it onto the ground. Leaving a streaky butt mark all the way.
Harry makes a shocked face and is frozen like that until Louis appears with the milk.
“Great now we have to go to the car wash” Harry grunts.
After sitting and watching the sunset everyone slides down like Louis did to go get ready.

“I don’t know what to wear” Alyssa flopped on the bed in the master bedroom.
“We just washed all of our clothes, how could you not know what to wear?” Kayla looked at Alyssa through the mirror as she finished her makeup.
“It’s not that I don’t have anything to wear. It’s just I don’t know what to wear. What are you going to wear?”
“My light washed ripped jeans, with this button up shirt, and my white converse.”
“You’re going to look hot boo”
“Thanks girl” Kayla smiled and laughed “I’ll help you pick something out”
Kayla chucked Alyssa’s suitcase onto the bed and started digging through it.
“How about this?” Kayla help up a pair of green pants, a graphic tee, and white shoes?”
“How the heck do you do that? I’ve been staring at that same suitcase for twenty minutes and found nothing.”
“I’m just that talented.”
After quickly applying some light makeup and fixing their hair, the girls were ready.
“Finally. We can go.” Louis breathed out.
“Oh shut of Louis, you are usually the last one done so this is a first.”
After the short drive to the Sunflower Field everyone hopped off the bus. Surprisingly it wasn’t super busy. They appeared to be the only people there besides the woman that owned it.
“Hello! I need 10 tickets please.” Harry flashed his signature smile at the lady.
“That will be $30”
After exchanging the money for the tickets the group was off to the beginning of the maze.
“Okay according to this sign the maze is 2 miles long. So luckily it won’t be too difficult.”
“Speak for yourself” Kayla laughed. “Liam you are in tip top shape so even if it was 12 miles you would still say that.”
“Guys I just had a great idea!”
“What is it Maya?”
“What if all the couples have a competition? We all time ourselves to see who makes it out on the other side first.”
“That’s a great idea! Let’s do it!” Gigi whips out her phone.
After everyone was paired with their boyfriend/girlfriend they all started their phone timers and took off running in different directions. Everyone was yelling so loudly to each other that you could hear their voices coming from inside the maze.
“Liam we need to turn this way!”
“Maya are you sure??”
“Harry run!!!!”
“Watch out for that bee Louis!!”
“Ahhhhh”
“I’m so freaking confused Alyssa”
“Me too Niall!”
“We just went in a giant circle!”
Everyone beside Louis and Eleanor had made it out on the other side.
“What is taking them so long?” questioned Zayn.
While everyone was discussing where they had gone their conversation was interrupted by a screaming Louis.
“Guys!!!!!! Run!!!!!”
Without even questioning what was happening the whole group took sprinting as fast as possible to the RV. Once inside Harry slammed the door shut.
Once everyone caught their breath they all turned to Louis.
“What was that all about?!”
“Louis here thought it be a good idea to knock a beehive down.”
“Eleanor I didn’t do it on purpose.”
“How’d you manage to do that?” Liam asked through laughter.
“I couldn’t stop running and I ran into a tree and knocked it down.” Louis sheepishly responsed. “Whoopsie”
“Oh my gosh Louis” Gigi cackled.
“Can we just forget that happened? Wasn’t my brightest moment.”
“Sure thing Lou” Kayla smiled.
“Well that was fun! I’m starving though so can we get food?”
“You’re wish is my command Niall. Kayla, I’m sick of driving, will you drive for a little bit?”
“Yeah that’s fine babe.”
Once everyone was seated and ready to hit the road again, Kayla headed to the local Walmart to stock up on food.
The sun was just setting as they approached Walmart. Luckily it appeared Walmart was not busy at all.
“Okay, Kayla and Harry, you are in charge of healthy food; Alyssa and Niall, you are in charge of junk food; and the rest of us will get drinks and any other stuff we need.” Liam spoke quite proud of himself that he had everything organized.
Everyone that was listen went running in all different directions to get to the aisle they needed.
Kayla and Harry bought fruit,veggies, and some other healthy snacks.
Alyssa and Niall bought chips, chocolate, and ice cream; quite the combination.
Everyone else bought pop, water, milk, and random snackage because they knew the other two couples wouldn’t buy enough to live on.
Everyone met back at the cash register to pay for it. Harry insisted on paying for everything.
“Harry you are not going to spend $100 on food for us.”
“Liam shut up. I can do what I want.” Harry smirked as he quickly gave the card to the cashier.
All the boys refused to let the girls carry anything so they all had bags piled on both of their arms as they ran across the parking lot. Once inside everyone out the groceries away and made supper.
“What’s on the menu tonight M’lady?” Zayn tipped an imaginary hat towards Gigi.
“Well I’m making baking chicken with honey mustard dressing and then we are having side salads.”
“I’m happy we brought you. Without you we would eat pizza every night” Niall laughed, “not that I’d complain or anything.”
During dinner everyone was spread all over the RV. Kayla and Alyssa were in the front; Zayn, Gigi, and Niall were on one couch; Harry, Louis, and Eleanor were on the other couch; and Liam and Maya were at the table.
The conversation was filled with fun things they had done throughout the day and things they wanted to do during this trip. Liam was currently discussing how he had never been to Chicago in his entire life.
“Liam that’s literally so random. I’ve been to Chicago at least 10 times.”
“Well that’s easy for you Harold. Your sister goes to college there.”
“I didn’t realize Gemma was going to Chicago University.” Gigi half yelled, “we should go visit her.”
“Oh my gosh Harry we should!! Cmon I’ll even drive.”
“I don’t know guys. She might not want to see us all.” Harry rubbed the back of his neck.
“Oh come on. It’s Gemma! She loves us!” Alyssa smiled.
“Ok ok. Fine. We can go for a couple days. That way I can see her and Liam can see Chicago.”
The whole bus erupted in cheers.
“Plus I’ve heard Chicago clubs really know how to party.” Louis wiggles his eyebrows.
“Umm Lou, in case you forgot, we aren’t old enough.”
“Don’t worry Eleanor. I got that covered.”
Everyone looked at one another, eyes filled with excitement and confusion at what Louis had just said.
All of the girls pitched in to clean up the kitchen. While Kayla headed towards the interstate that would take them straight into Chicago.
Niall called all the boys to follow him into the back bedroom because he has news. The girls were extremely confused why they all ditched them.
Once all the boys were in the room, Niall shut the door and turned to look at them. “I’ve made a life changing decision. I’m going to ask Alyssa to marry me.”
Two days had gone by and it was still super awkward in the bus. Everyone was uncomfortable with what had happened. Harry hadn’t spoke to Kayla since the big blow up. She had tried to but he just would shut it down immediately.
It had been raining literally all day. They had plans but because of the rain it was ruined.
“Why does it have to rain all day?” Maya whined.
“Because Mother Nature decided to ruin our plans.” Louis sassed.
“Louis can you please take a break from sassing today? My brain can’t take anymore.” Eleanor groaned.
Most of the bus chuckled but Louis looked high offended.
As silence overtook the bus, Harry randomly swerved sharply. Sending stuff flying everywhere.
“What the freak dude?! Watch where you’re doing you moron. You almost killed us. Gosh I can’t stand people sometimes.” Harry continued saying stuff under his breath about how idiotic people are.
“Uhhh Harry maybe you should take a break from driving and get some sleep. You haven’t slept much for this whole trip.” Liam suggested.
“Fine. But I’m only letting Kayla drive.” Harry looked at Kayla in the rear view mirror.
“Uhh I guess I can.” Kayla nervously but her lip.
Harry proceeded to pool on to the side of the road and hopped in the passanger seat.
“Okay when we get up here you’re going to have to merge on the interstate.”
“Oh so now your talking to me.”
“Baby I’m sorry. It just really messed with my head. When they started talking about it again it just made it feel like it had just happened and I couldn’t think straight.”
“I hope you know I didn’t mean to let it slip. When Gigi came out of the bathroom I just freaked.”
“It’s okay love. I still love you.” Harry leaned over and kissed Kayla. “How about we park the RV somewhere and have a picnic just you and me?”
“That sounds lovely”
“Okay now that you guys kissed and made up, Harry go to sleep you’re being a butthole.”
“Louis I just told you to chill your sass.”
“Sorry love. I cant help it.” Louis cheesed at Eleanor.
As they were approaching the interstate Kayla was a little nervous as she had never driven on it.
“You mean to tell me in your 18 years of life you have never driven on the interstate.”
“No reason to judge Harold.”
“I’m not judging just shocked is all.” Harry chuckled “Okay so you’re gonna speed up starting now.”
“Harry I can’t do this.”
“For the love of Pete please do not kill us!” Hollered Alyssa.
“Uhh who’s Pete?”
“Niall now is not the time to ask stupid questions. I’m trying to not kill us.”
“Babe I know you don’t want to do this but you’re gonna have to get over at some point.”
“Here’s goes nothing.” Kayla looked over her shoulder to see it was clear.
“AAHHHHHH” she slightly turned the wheel and merged onto the interstate. “Harry I did it!”
“Good job babe” Harry chuckled.
“Thank you for not killing us.”
“You’re welcome Louis.”
As the after noon rolled on no one really did much. Kayla continued on the interstate headed towards Chicago. While some of the others watched a movie and chatted about life.
“-and then Niall literally fell on the ground he was so scared. It was honestly the best moment of me life.” Alyssa had tears streaming from laughter.
“Babe you said you weren’t going to bring you scaring me up again. It’s embarrassing.” Niall pouted
“Oh whatever. It’s hilarious and you’re adorable Ni”
As the bus was overtaken with silence Louis’ road trip play list played the same song for the 4 time in a row.
“Louis I’m playing my music now. I literally can’t listen to this song again or I might kill myself.” Eleanor marches up to the front of the bus and plugged her phone in hitting shuffle.
“AHHHHHHHH” all the girls screamed as ‘She Looks So Perfect’ started playing.
“Turn it up Kayla. It’s the boyssss.”
All the girls, minus Kayla because she was obviously driving, started jumping around.
Then the chorus hit:
“You look so perfect standing there
In my American Apparel underwear
And I know now, that I'm so down
Your lipstick stain is a work of art
I got your name tattooed in an arrow heart
And I know now, that I'm so down” all the girls were literally screeching so loud that they woke Harry up.
Harry looked around at all the girls and chuckled to himself
“What are you staring at Harold?”
“Alyssa I swear I’m going to disown you as my friend if you call me that one more time.”
“Oh whatever” Alyssa sarcasticly rolled her eyes, “you know you love it”
“Okay so there’s a Verizon in Chicago that we can stop at to get Alyssa a phone. Is that good with you Louis?”
“In all honesty I forgot I even threw her phone out the window, but yeah that’s okay with me”
“Louis you amaze me sometimes.” Alyssa laughed.

Two hours later and Kayla was still driving.
“You know babe you are honestly a pretty good driver. I should let you drive more often.”
“You definitely should” Kayla looked at Harry, “ are you reading my romance novel I brought?!”
“Maybe...”
“Oh my gosh guys Harry is reading a romance novel”
“Awww Harry who knew you had such a soft heart. Maya squeaked.
“Okay that’s it I’m done” Harry through the book back in Kayla’s backpack.
“Okay I’m getting sick of driving. So I’m parking in this field and we can have our date Harry”
“Can we order pizza?”
“Sure Niall.” Harry gets his phone to call it in.
“How are you doing to tell him where we are parked?” Kayla asked, “kinda difficult when we are in a field.
“Why don’t you just drive a little farther and park in the Walmart parking lot”
“Once again Louis you had a good idea. I’m starting to think it was a good thing that we brought you” Eleanor laughed while Louis pouted.
As Kayla pulled into the Walmart parking lot the pizza man was driving away.
“NOT THE PIZZA. KAYLA HIT THE BREAKS. WE ARE GOING TO MISS THE PIZZA.”
“Niall sit your butt down and chill”
Instead of doing what he was told Niall jumped out of the moving RV started chasing the delivery car waving his arms and screaming.
“PEOPLE REALLY NEED TO STOP JUMPING OUT OF THE MOTHER FREAKING MOVING RV”
Kayla finally found a good place to stop and pulled over as Niall was sprinting back to the RV.
“How’d you get him to notice you?” Harry looked at Niall.
“Well you see.... the dude stopped at the stop sign and I jumped on the hood of the car.”
“Niall, you didn’t. Like how am I with the most embarrassing person?” Alyssa wheezed she was laughing so hard.
“Hey at least we got the pizza. Just be thankful.”
“Okay, Kayla I got everything ready, should we go my lady?”
“Yes as long as you never say that again” Kayla chuckled.
As they left the RV to have their picnic in a Walmart parking lot in the middle of Missouri the rest of the group got their pizza and settled down for a movie.
“What do you think Kayla and Harry are talking about?” Louis wiggled his eyebrows.
“I hope they make up all the way so it stops being awkward because I can’t handle another second of being on this bus with them.” Gigi flopped down on the couch with her pizza.
“Agreed”

“Babe I hope you know I’m still so sorry about being a jerk to you. I love you more than anything and didn’t want to hurt you.”
“I know Harry, it’s okay.” Kayla smiled up at her boyfriend of two years.
“I know love. You’ve said that ten times now.” Harry chuckled. “ I did have an idea though to make it up to you.”
“Oh really?? What would that be?”
“Well while you were driving I looked over an noticed a huge sunflower field about 10 miles from here. I know your favorite flower is a sunflower so I figured we could all go on a group date or something.”
“Oh my gosh Harold. That’s amazing!”
“Thanks babe. I thought it was too”
Kayla chuckled. “But seriously we are going to have to go to a laundromat somewhere because all of my good clothes are dirty.”
“You and you’re clothes Kayla Boydston I swear will be the death of me.”
“You know you love it” Kayla leaned in for a kiss.

After their date was over Kayla ran into the RV screaming.
“WE ARE GOING TO A SUNFLOWER FIELD TOMORROW SO WE ARE GOING TO FIND A LAUNDROMAT TO CLEAN OUR CLOTHES. SO WE CAN LOOK HOT AS HECK.”
All the girls started screaming and running around collecting their dirty clothes.
Soon Harry was driving around a tiny town looking for a laundromat.
“Wait I see one” Liam pointed from the passenger seat.
“Thank gosh. I was starting to thing I would have to wear these sweatpants tomorrow and that’s not a good look”
“Louis since when do you care what you look like?”
“I always have boo” Louis winked at Eleanor.
“I think I just puked.” Alyssa stated.
As they stopped in front of the laundromat everyone piled out with their arms overflowing of dirty clothes.
“My question is how the heck did we go through this many clothes in 4 days.?
“Well that’s what happens when someone spills their drink all over you” Kayla eyes Louis.
“I’ve said this once and I’ll say it again. It was not my fault. Blame your boyfriend who can’t drive.
“Says the one who almost hit a tree two weeks ago.”
“GUYS! Can we just go in here and get this done.” Alyssa yelled.
As everyone went into the laundromat the atmosphere changed. The group who was once happy and looking forward to tomorrow was tired and all around grouchy.
“Guys am I the only one that feels like this trip isn’t worth it. Like I mean Alyssa’s parents literally disowned her.”
“No you aren’t the only one I totally get it. Maybe we are wasting away are lives”
As silence overtook the room the only thing you could here was the slight sound of water swishing and the gentle tumble of the dryer.
“You know what screw this! Why are we all sitting here groaning about this trip. This trip is our last one before we go off to college. Instead of being grouchy and acting like butts we need to make this trip the best thing ever.” Alyssa got up and marched over to the speaker that was sitting in the corner and plugged her phone in. The first song that popped in was, ‘Year 3000’ by the Jonas Brothers.
“Oh my gosh I haven’t heard this song in forever.”
“Oh my gosh let’s GOOOOO”
Everyone jumped up and starting dancing around the room. Screaming the lyrics at the top of their lungs.
Quickly their moods lifted. As everyone looked at one another they realized truly how much this trip meant to them. Here they were after being friends anywhere from 7 to 3 years, on their last vacation as teenagers before they go to college. They were so thankful for this trip and each other.
After spending two hours in the laundromat they were finally back on the bus. They ended up just deciding to lock it up and sleep in the parking lot.
As everyone was falling asleep, Alyssa and Kayla were still sitting in the front of the RV.
“I’m so sorry excited for tomorrow.!”
“Me too Alyssa! I feel like we all need this!”
“We got to look fly for pictures”
“You know it boo” Kayla laughed.
Little did they know that tomorrow would change one of their lives forever. Or maybe both of their lives?
Well this chapter was pretty chill. Wonder what will happen that will change their lives?? 😜
“I- I was supposed to s-start my period last weeks, b-but I didn’t.” Gigi stuttered through tears.
“Sh—schnitzel.” Maya looked at Gigi.
“I-I don’t know what to do. I’m freaking out. What if I’m pregnant?”
“Gigi, it’s okay. I was in your shoes like 6 months ago. We’ll just walk to the closest gas station and buy a pregnancy test.” Kayla hugged Gigi, “It’s going to be okay, I promise.”
All the girls looked at another completely confused and shocked. What had Kayla meant by she had been in Gigi’s shoes before? Kayla seemed to not even notice what she had said, so the girls just let it slip.
“Okay I googled it and it says the nearest gas station is 3 miles away. You’ve got to be kidding me.” Groaned Eleanor.
“Freaking Harry didn’t leave the keys in the admission.” Alyssa pointed towards the front of the RV.
“I love that buy but sometimes he’s just plain stupid.” Kayla rolled her eyes.
“Well we better get walking if we want to make it back before the boys get home.”
All the girls jumped out of the RV and started heading towards the nearest gas station.

“Hey girls were b— ummm where are the girls?” Niall asked sounded concerned.
“What do you mean? They aren’t in there?”
“Harry, I’m pretty sure I’m not blind. They aren’t in here.”
“Someone call them”
“I tried, it goes straight to voicemail.” Liam layed his phone in the counter.
“Lovely. We are in the middle of no where and the girls are missing.” Zayn grumbled.

“Which one should I get? I’ve never bought a pre—“buy this one. It will give you the quickest results.” “Thanks Kayla.” Gigi looked around the other girls with a confused look on her face.
“Alright guys I’m going to go take this really quick.”
“Good luck”
While they were waiting for her, Alyssa found the ice cream aisle.
“Ohhh we should get ice cream and make ice cream sundaes.”
“Alyssa you’re a genius. We’re doing it.” Maya cheered.
So the girls gathered vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup, sprinkles, and cool whip.
“This is making me hungry.” Eleanor licked her lips.
As the girls walked back towards the bathroom Gigi approached them.
“Well????” Kayla asked.
“It was negative.”
“Oh thank gosh” Alyssa breathed out.
“My reaction exactly.” Gigi smiled at Alyssa.
“Well since you aren’t preggers let’s head back to the RV.” Maya walked away leading the pack.

“I’ve literally been trying to call them for 2 hours and they still aren’t here. Should I start driving and see if we can find them?”
“I honestly don’t know at this point. I just really hope nothing happened to th—“ Niall turned his head towards the door as all of the girls pile in the RV.
“Where have you been?! We’ve been worried sick!” Harry looked Kayla in the eyes.
She quickly looked at Gigi as she bit her lip.
“Umm we got hungry after the movie so we walked to a gas station.”
“Oh what movie did you watch?” Liam asked.
All the girls looked between each other and didn’t know how to respond.
“We don’t remember the name of it.” Alyssa looked anywhere but at the boys.
The boys seemed content with that answer and went on with talking. All the girls sat on one couch and didn’t say a thing for literally 3 hours.
“Ok that’s it. What the freak is wrong with you girls? You haven’t said a thing. I know something is up.” Louis raised his voice.
Gigi took a huge breath of air, “I thought I was pregnant so we went to the gas station to get a test. It came back negative though.”
“WHAT” Zayn jumped out of his seat.
Everybody was in complete shock at what was happening right before their eyes.
“I think I’m going to pull over into this campsite up the road and let you guys have some privacy.”
As Harry turned into the parking lot of the camping site everyone was dead silent. You could probably cut the awkwardness with a knife. Everyone was just looking around at each other. As the bus rolled to a hault everyone jump out of the bus.
“Zayn and I are going to go walk over to the picnic tables and talk”
As Zayn and Gigi walked away that left the rest of the group standing by the RV stretching their legs.
After 5 minutes had passed and nothing was said, Alyssa had a very important question to ask.
“Kayla, what did you mean by what you said earlier?”
“What’d I say?”
By this point everyone was intrigued by what the two girls were discussing.
“When Gigi was freaking out earlier, you told her you were in her shoes 6 months ago.”
Kayla’s faces paled along with Harry’s.
“I umm I—“ Kayla looked towards Harry and instantly knew he was pissed.
“I can’t believe you told them!” Harry raised his voice.
“I’m sorry. I don’t even remember saying it.”
“Saying what?! What exactly did you mean by that?!” Alyssa hollered.
She already knew what she had meant but she wanted to hear it from Kayla.
“Okay. Fine. 6 months ago I found out I was pregnant. I told Harry and we were honestly petrified. We didn’t know what to do. When I was 8 weeks along I lost the baby due to stress. We didn’t say anything because it was a tough situation. I’m still not over it and probably won’t ever be. There are you happy now?!” At this point Kayla had huge tears rolling down her cheeks. She has screamed everything so loud that even Zayn and Gigi heard it.
“Kayla I’m sorry I shouldn’t have men—“ “yeah you shouldn’t have, but here we are” Kayla stormed off into the woods.
Harry now has tears falling down his cheeks too. They were a mix and angry and sad tears. He was angry that Kayla had slipped up, but also sad that Alyssa had brought it up. Even though they were young they were excited to be parents. Having that ripped away sucks and hurts like heck.
“Harry are you okay mate?” Liam walked towards Harry.
“Yeah I just want some alone time. Someone go after Kayla and when you get her being her back so we can leave.” Harry turned towards the RV with no emotion on his face.
“I got her. I should apologize anyway.” Alyssa ran towards where Kayla had been just seconds earlier. After running for maybe 2 minutes, Alyssa found Kayla sitting on the ground up against a tree with her knees pulled into her chest.
“Hey.” Alyssa mumbled as she plopped on the ground next to her best friend, “ I’m really sorry for bringing it back up. I was just confused. Also, I’m sorry I acted like such a butthole over it. It just shocked me that you guys, you know.... did it and didn’t tell me. And the fact you were pregnant and didn’t tell me. It just kinda hurt my feelings.”
“I didn’t tell you because I felt like a failure. I went to thereapy for awhile because I felt like it was my fault that I lost the baby, but I now know it wasn’t my fault. And the reason I didn’t tell you we slept together, was because you didn’t tell me when you and Niall first had.”
“Well you see, that’s because Niall and I haven’t yet.” Alyssa replies sheepishly stairing at the ground.
“Oh I didn’t realize that. There’s no reason to be ashamed of that. I think it’s great you aren’t moving fast. I just figured since you’ve been dating for so long you had.”
“Is it weird that we haven’t?”
“Is it not normally heard of? Yes. But is it weird? No. There’s no reason to rush into things. I’m proud of you for waiting.”
“Thanks Kayla.” Alyssa smiled, “ I’m sorry for pressuring you into talking about something you weren’t ready for.”
“ it’s okay. I honestly feel better getting it off my chest.”
“Well I’m glad,” Alyssa pulled Kayla into a hug. “I love you. I hope you know that.”
“I love you too boo”
The girls helped each other up and headed back to the RV. Once getting in you could cut the tension with a knife.
Harry was sitting up in the front by himself staring at the window. He through into drive without even waiting is Kayla was sitting down and sped off. Kayla would have fallen over if Louis hadn’t reached out and grabbed her to stabilize her.
“Thanks Lou.”
As everyone was sitting in silence, Alyssa walked up to Niall, “Can I talk to you in the back bedroom?”
“Yeah of course.”
They walked to the back and closed the door.
“Niall, do you want to sleep with me?”
“Woah. You waste no time. Where’s this coming from?”
“I don’t know. I just don’t want you to get bored of me.”
“Get bored of you?! Babe come here.” Niall slaps is leg.
Niall wraps his arms around Alyssa, “Alyssa Forrest, you are the love of my life. I could never get bored of you. When I look at you, even after almost 3 years of dating, I get butterflies. I have memorized the way you snore when you sleep, how you talk too fast when you get nervous, and how you bite your lip when you want me to kiss you. I’ll never get bored of you. I love you too much.”
Alyssa smiles at Niall, “ I love you too Ni. That’s exactly what I needed to hear.”
“I’m not pressuring you into something you aren’t ready for. When you’re really ready I’m ready, but right now I don’t think we are. Let’s take it slow. There’s no reason to rush into something that we will be able to do our whole lives. Okay princess?”
“Okay” Alyssa snuggled into the crook of Nialls neck.
As they walked out into the main area the awkwardness was definitely still thick. But Alyssa’s heart felt peace now that her and Niall were on the same page.
As the RV continued rolling down the highway the only audible sounds were the faint sound of the portable humidifier, the static of the radio, and the whispering coming from Niall and Harry.
“I’m really grateful we were able to take this trip. It would have really sucked to not do anything special for our last summer together.”
“I totally agree mate.... So Harry have you decided what you want to go to college for?” Niall turned towards his best friend of 15 years.
“Yeah I have. I’ve decided instead of going to college I’m going to open my own photography studio. My uncle already has a space available that he said I could rent for cheap.”
“I think you’d be great at that! How’d your parents react?”
“Not well. They keep bringing up the fact that I can’t do that with my life if I want to support my family. Kayla keeps encouraging me to do it even with the circumstances.”
“So do you think Kayla will be your family one day?”
“I don’t think Niall, I know.” Harry blushed “What about Alyssa? Is she the one?”
“Definitely” Niall answered now blushing as well.
As the boys continued talking about life Kayla stumbled out of the back of the RV.
“Babe what’s wrong?” Harry looked in the rear view mirror.
“My throat is killing me.”
“It’s probably from you screeching at Louis earlier” laughed Niall.
“Shut up Niall. He deserved it. He ruined my pants” Kayla plopped on the couch.
“I think there might be some tea up in the cupboard over there” Harry pointed towards the mini fridge. “That would help your throat”
“Thanks babe. I think I’ll make some..... wait I just realized something. What are you doing still driving at almost 3 am? Don’t you think we should pull over so you can sleep?”
“No I’m doing okay. I want to get to Jackson, Wyoming by 8 am so we can go hiking.”
“Do you guys mind keeping quiet? It’s kinda hard to sleep when you won’t shut up?” Zayn lifted his head off the couch.
“Sorry Zayn... I honestly forgot you were even in here.” Kayla laughed. “I’ll shut up now.”
“It’s alright I’m already up anyway”
“I’m awake too” Gigi stated. “I’m starving for some reason.”
“That’s probably because we didn’t eat supper” Liam pipped up.
“OMG. You’re right!” Maya hollered.
“I’m starving.” Niall whined from the front seat.
“Babe you would have never said that if Liam wouldn’t have mentioned it.” Alyssa laughed entering the room.
“Why are you up?”
“How am I not? Y’all need to learn how to whisper.”
“I second that” Louis said sounding aggravated.
Within 5 minutes everyone was awake at 3 am, on a highway in Wyoming, starving to death.
“OH MY GOSH!! IS THAT A WAFFLE HOUSE I SEE?!” Alyssa suddenly screamed making everyone jump.
“IT IS!!! HARRY YOU NEED TO PULL THIS RV OVER RIGHT NOW. THEY ARE OPEN 24 HOURS AND I AM STARVING” Niall topped Alyssa’s scream.
“Niall I’m not even in the correct lane and it’s literally 1000 feet from us.”
Niall quickly grabbed the wheel and jerked it the the right sending the RV into a spin.
“NIALL LET GO OF THE MOTHER FREAKING WHEEL. YOU’RE GOING TO KILL IS”
“AHHHHHHHH”
Somehow the RV landed straight in the middle of a parking spot in from of The Waffle House. While everyone else was still freaked out by everything that had just happened, Niall and Alyssa cheered at the fact that they were going to The Waffle House.
“I swear Niall if you ever pull that shiii-schnitzel with me again I’ll kill you” Harry stated sounded pissed.
“You’re lucky you caught yourself Harold. You almost had to put a $1 in the swear jar.” Louis mocked.
As the friend group pilled out of the bus Harry grabbed his camera and snapped a picture of the building.
“Send me that. I want to post it.” Alyssa looked at Harry.
“As long as I get credit.”
“Sure thing, Harold.”
“You know I don’t like it when you call me that.”
“Oh get over yourself.... HAROLD.”
As the group entered the building they found a table big enough for everyone to sit at. They waited for someone to take their order but no one ever did. After sitting there for 15 minutes they were starting to get annoyed.
“I’m so hungry I could eat this napkin.” Eleanor whined.
“I’ve got you babe.” Louis quickly jumped up and ran towards the counter.
“Louis do not do anything stu- and he jumped over the counter.”
Louis ran over to the waffle maker and dumped the batter in it. Or what he thought was batter. It turned out to be bacon grease.
As the waffle maker burst into flames the cook came running out of the back with a fire extinguisher and put the fire out.
“GET OUT OF HERE. YOU ARE BANNED FROM THIS WAFFLE HOUSE.”
Everyone quickly took off running. Once outside Alyssa turned towards Louis. “I can’t believe you right now. That’s my favorite place to eat and now I’m going to die of starvation.”
“Hey guys, there’s a gas station over there. Let’s just go buy some food there.” Liam pointed across the street.
So the group set off to the gas station. As they entered the building it had your typical gas station smell; it wasn’t good. They all split up and grabbed whatever they could find.
Back at the RV they all settled down in the living area. Harry was back to driving but Niall wasn’t riding up front with him. Niall decided he needed sleep.
While at the gas station, Kayla and Alyssa decided to get a 2 pound bag of their favorite candy, Twizzlers, to share.
After everyone wasn’t starving anymore they went their separate ways to go back to bed.
THE NEXT MORNING
“Guys we made it to Jackson, Wyoming! Get your lazy butts up and ready. We are going hiking.”
“Harry it’s too early to yell.... shhhhh” Liam held his finger up to his lips.
Soon everyone was up and getting ready. Harry had pulled into a parking lot. So he was able to get ready also. All the guys had on basketball shorts and T-shirt’s on while all the girls had either workout leggings or bike shorts with some random shirt.
After they were all ready for their hike, they locked up the RV and headed towards the start of the trail.
“Can’t we do a level 2 trail instead of a level 7 one? My stomach hurts and I don’t wanna die.” Alyssa whined.
“You’ll be fine babe. It won’t be that bad” Niall reassured.
He was wrong. Very wrong.
2 hours later
“It’s so hot”
“I’m gonna passout”
Literally everyone was dying. Puffing for air, sweat running down their backs, their vision dancing with black dots.
“Alyssa are you okay back there? You’re walking super slow.” Yelled Maya.
“I’m f-f-aarrrrhhhh” Alyssa puked.
“Oh my gosh!!!!” Screamed Kayla “it’s bright red. Like blood red. That’s not normal last time I checked.”
Niall started sprinting down the mountain.
“Babe, something’s wrong. We should go to the hospital.” Niall scooped Alyssa up and took off sprinting for the RV; everyone quickly followed.
Harry drove 45 mph in a 30 mph all the way to the hospital. Once they got there Alyssa was taken straight into a emergency room.
“Does your stomach hurt still? Any tenderness?” The Doctor pushed around on Alyssa’s stomach.
“I was a little nauseous until I threw up, but now I feel totally fine.”
“Okay, we’re going to run a few tests to see what’s going on.”
The rest of the group were sitting in the waiting room.
“I’m so bored. There’s nothing to do here” Louis whined like a two year old child.
“Louis it’s a hospital. Last time I checked it’s not supposed to be fun.” Zayn stated.
Louis was about ready to sass back when Niall came through the door.
“They are going to run some tests to see what’s going on. So far everything they’ve done has come back normal. So I’m not really for sure what could be causing it.” Niall worried.
“What about the Twizzlers she ate last night? That’s all her and Kayla had since yesterday at lunch time. Maybe that mixed with the heat made her sick.”
“Louis for once in your life you’re a genius.” Niall turned and walked back to the emergency department to inform the Doctor about the Twizzlers.
“I thought about that while we were still hiking.”
“Louis why the freak didn’t you say something then?” Zayn hit his hand to his face.
“I don’t know. I just didn’t think it was my place.”
Everyone rolled their eyes.
“Of course you didn’t”
After 15 minutes had passed, Alyssa and Niall walked through the door. “The doctor said it was just from the Twizzlers and that I’ll be fine.”
“Well I’m happy that’s all it was, but tonight we are eating more than Twizzlers for supper.” Kayla laughed.
As the large group of friends exited the hospital, Harry looked up to see some dude trying to break into the RV.
“Oh sh—“ Harry took off running.
“Well looks like he owes a $1 to the swear jar now”
“You girls stay here; we don’t want you to get hurt.” The boys took off running chasing after their friend.
After about 10 minutes the guys finally pulled up in the RV. Kayla hopped in the passenger seat while the girls climed in the back.
“So what happened?” Questioned Kayla.
“Oh nothing. They guy just took off running.” Harry’s voice went up an octave indicating he was lying.
“Harry, you’re lying.”
“Am not”
“Okay then, turn and look me in the eyes and tell me that.”
“ I can’t, I’m driving.”
“Harry look at me.”
Harry still wouldn’t look at his girlfriend.
“HAROLD”
Harry finally turned towards Kayla with a big cheesy grin on his face. That grin wasn’t the only thing on his face. His left eye was swollen up almost double the normal size, and it had a huge dark circle around it.
“HAROLD EDWARD STYLES. WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO YOU?”
“Oh I’ll tell you. Harold here walked up to the dude and asked him what he was doing and told him to get away from the RV. The guy told him he wasn’t going to so Harry punched the dude and the dude then punched Harry back. He was trying to show off.” Louis said sounding quite proud of himself.
“Harry” Kayla sighed, “ you can’t just go up to some dude and mouth off like that.”
Kayla got up and walked to the freezer and got a bag of peas. “Here put this on your eye. It will help the swelling to go down.”
“Thanks love.”
As the RV continued driving towards Nebraska, everyone was just sitting around on their phones, exhausted.
“Oh my gosh I’m going to freaking kill my parents.” Alyssa three her phone down on the couch.
“Why? What are they doing?” Maya asked.
“Literally they’ve called me 5 times today and texted countless times. It’s starting to get su— great there they are again.”
Louis without even thinking picks up Alyssa’s phone, opens the window and chucks it.
“LOUIS WHAT THE FREAK?!”
Everyone was shocked that he actually just did that.
“Thanks. Now I don’t have a phone for the rest of the trip.”
“It’s fine. Harry can pull over at the closet Verizon and I’ll buy you one.” Louis held up his wallet.
Alyssa turned and walked away towards the front of the bus. “Kayla, can I sit up front for awhile? I need a break from Louis.”
“Yeah that’s fine.” Kayla got up and went to sit next to Louis.
“Good job idiot.” Kayla smacked the back of Louis’ head.

After 5 hours passed and they only had stopped to pee once, everyone was getting highly agitated.
“I’m going to find somewhere to park so we can walk around for a little bit. My legs hurt from driving and I just really need a break from the RV.”
“That’s fine Harry. I think me, you, and the boys should go on a walk or something.” Niall hollowed from the kitchen.
“I think us girls are just going to stay on the bus and watch a movie. We are all tired.” Alyssa told the boys.
Harry quickly turned into the first random lot that he saw. It happened to be in the middle of nowhere.
“Harry we are literally in the middle of no where. Don’t you think you should wait until we get somewhere more public?” Questioned Kayla.
“No you’ll be fine. Just keep the door locked.”
The boys all piled out of the RV and headed out on their walk to stretch their legs.
“Yes! Finally we are alone on the bus.” Eleanor screamed. “Don’t get me wrong, I love the boys but sometimes I just want girl time.”
“I totally agree. What movie do you guys want to watch?”
As they were in the middle of throwing ideas around, Gigi exited the bathroom crying.
Two days had gone by and it was still super awkward in the bus. Everyone was uncomfortable with what had happened. Harry hadn’t spoke to Kayla since the big blow up. She had tried to but he just would shut it down immediately.
It had been raining literally all day. They had plans but because of the rain it was ruined.
“Why does it have to rain all day?” Maya whined.
“Because Mother Nature decided to ruin our plans.” Louis sassed.
“Louis can you please take a break from sassing today? My brain can’t take anymore.” Eleanor groaned.
Most of the bus chuckled but Louis looked high offended.
As silence overtook the bus, Harry randomly swerved sharply. Sending stuff flying everywhere.
“What the freak dude?! Watch where you’re doing you moron. You almost killed us. Gosh I can’t stand people sometimes.” Harry continued saying stuff under his breath about how idiotic people are.
“Uhhh Harry maybe you should take a break from driving and get some sleep. You haven’t slept much for this whole trip.” Liam suggested.
“Fine. But I’m only letting Kayla drive.” Harry looked at Kayla in the rear view mirror.
“Uhh I guess I can.” Kayla nervously but her lip.
Harry proceeded to pool on to the side of the road and hopped in the passanger seat.
“Okay when we get up here you’re going to have to merge on the interstate.”
“Oh so now your talking to me.”
“Baby I’m sorry. It just really messed with my head. When they started talking about it again it just made it feel like it had just happened and I couldn’t think straight.”
“I hope you know I didn’t mean to let it slip. When Gigi came out of the bathroom I just freaked.”
“It’s okay love. I still love you.” Harry leaned over and kissed Kayla. “How about we park the RV somewhere and have a picnic just you and me?”
“That sounds lovely”
“Okay now that you guys kissed and made up, Harry go to sleep you’re being a butthole.”
“Louis I just told you to chill your sass.”
“Sorry love. I cant help it.” Louis cheesed at Eleanor.
As they were approaching the interstate Kayla was a little nervous as she had never driven on it.
“You mean to tell me in your 18 years of life you have never driven on the interstate.”
“No reason to judge Harold.”
“I’m not judging just shocked is all.” Harry chuckled “Okay so you’re gonna speed up starting now.”
“Harry I can’t do this.”
“For the love of Pete please do not kill us!” Hollered Alyssa.
“Uhh who’s Pete?”
“Niall now is not the time to ask stupid questions. I’m trying to not kill us.”
“Babe I know you don’t want to do this but you’re gonna have to get over at some point.”
“Here’s goes nothing.” Kayla looked over her shoulder to see it was clear.
“AAHHHHHH” she slightly turned the wheel and merged onto the interstate. “Harry I did it!”
“Good job babe” Harry chuckled.
“Thank you for not killing us.”
“You’re welcome Louis.”
As the after noon rolled on no one really did much. Kayla continued on the interstate headed towards Chicago. While some of the others watched a movie and chatted about life.
“-and then Niall literally fell on the ground he was so scared. It was honestly the best moment of me life.” Alyssa had tears streaming from laughter.
“Babe you said you weren’t going to bring you scaring me up again. It’s embarrassing.” Niall pouted
“Oh whatever. It’s hilarious and you’re adorable Ni”
As the bus was overtaken with silence Louis’ road trip play list played the same song for the 4 time in a row.
“Louis I’m playing my music now. I literally can’t listen to this song again or I might kill myself.” Eleanor marches up to the front of the bus and plugged her phone in hitting shuffle.
“AHHHHHHHH” all the girls screamed as ‘She Looks So Perfect’ started playing.
“Turn it up Kayla. It’s the boyssss.”
All the girls, minus Kayla because she was obviously driving, started jumping around.
Then the chorus hit:
“You look so perfect standing there
In my American Apparel underwear
And I know now, that I'm so down
Your lipstick stain is a work of art
I got your name tattooed in an arrow heart
And I know now, that I'm so down” all the girls were literally screeching so loud that they woke Harry up.
Harry looked around at all the girls and chuckled to himself
“What are you staring at Harold?”
“Alyssa I swear I’m going to disown you as my friend if you call me that one more time.”
“Oh whatever” Alyssa sarcasticly rolled her eyes, “you know you love it”
“Okay so there’s a Verizon in Chicago that we can stop at to get Alyssa a phone. Is that good with you Louis?”
“In all honesty I forgot I even threw her phone out the window, but yeah that’s okay with me”
“Louis you amaze me sometimes.” Alyssa laughed.

Two hours later and Kayla was still driving.
“You know babe you are honestly a pretty good driver. I should let you drive more often.”
“You definitely should” Kayla looked at Harry, “ are you reading my romance novel I brought?!”
“Maybe...”
“Oh my gosh guys Harry is reading a romance novel”
“Awww Harry who knew you had such a soft heart. Maya squeaked.
“Okay that’s it I’m done” Harry through the book back in Kayla’s backpack.
“Okay I’m getting sick of driving. So I’m parking in this field and we can have our date Harry”
“Can we order pizza?”
“Sure Niall.” Harry gets his phone to call it in.
“How are you doing to tell him where we are parked?” Kayla asked, “kinda difficult when we are in a field.
“Why don’t you just drive a little farther and park in the Walmart parking lot”
“Once again Louis you had a good idea. I’m starting to think it was a good thing that we brought you” Eleanor laughed while Louis pouted.
As Kayla pulled into the Walmart parking lot the pizza man was driving away.
“NOT THE PIZZA. KAYLA HIT THE BREAKS. WE ARE GOING TO MISS THE PIZZA.”
“Niall sit your butt down and chill”
Instead of doing what he was told Niall jumped out of the moving RV started chasing the delivery car waving his arms and screaming.
“PEOPLE REALLY NEED TO STOP JUMPING OUT OF THE MOTHER FREAKING MOVING RV”
Kayla finally found a good place to stop and pulled over as Niall was sprinting back to the RV.
“How’d you get him to notice you?” Harry looked at Niall.
“Well you see.... the dude stopped at the stop sign and I jumped on the hood of the car.”
“Niall, you didn’t. Like how am I with the most embarrassing person?” Alyssa wheezed she was laughing so hard.
“Hey at least we got the pizza. Just be thankful.”
“Okay, Kayla I got everything ready, should we go my lady?”
“Yes as long as you never say that again” Kayla chuckled.
As they left the RV to have their picnic in a Walmart parking lot in the middle of Missouri the rest of the group got their pizza and settled down for a movie.
“What do you think Kayla and Harry are talking about?” Louis wiggled his eyebrows.
“I hope they make up all the way so it stops being awkward because I can’t handle another second of being on this bus with them.” Gigi flopped down on the couch with her pizza.
“Agreed”

“Babe I hope you know I’m still so sorry about being a jerk to you. I love you more than anything and didn’t want to hurt you.”
“I know Harry, it’s okay.” Kayla smiled up at her boyfriend of two years.
“I know love. You’ve said that ten times now.” Harry chuckled. “ I did have an idea though to make it up to you.”
“Oh really?? What would that be?”
“Well while you were driving I looked over an noticed a huge sunflower field about 10 miles from here. I know your favorite flower is a sunflower so I figured we could all go on a group date or something.”
“Oh my gosh Harold. That’s amazing!”
“Thanks babe. I thought it was too”
Kayla chuckled. “But seriously we are going to have to go to a laundromat somewhere because all of my good clothes are dirty.”
“You and you’re clothes Kayla Boydston I swear will be the death of me.”
“You know you love it” Kayla leaned in for a kiss.

After their date was over Kayla ran into the RV screaming.
“WE ARE GOING TO A SUNFLOWER FIELD TOMORROW SO WE ARE GOING TO FIND A LAUNDROMAT TO CLEAN OUR CLOTHES. SO WE CAN LOOK HOT AS HECK.”
All the girls started screaming and running around collecting their dirty clothes.
Soon Harry was driving around a tiny town looking for a laundromat.
“Wait I see one” Liam pointed from the passenger seat.
“Thank gosh. I was starting to thing I would have to wear these sweatpants tomorrow and that’s not a good look”
“Louis since when do you care what you look like?”
“I always have boo” Louis winked at Eleanor.
“I think I just puked.” Alyssa stated.
As they stopped in front of the laundromat everyone piled out with their arms overflowing of dirty clothes.
“My question is how the heck did we go through this many clothes in 4 days.?
“Well that’s what happens when someone spills their drink all over you” Kayla eyes Louis.
“I’ve said this once and I’ll say it again. It was not my fault. Blame your boyfriend who can’t drive.
“Says the one who almost hit a tree two weeks ago.”
“GUYS! Can we just go in here and get this done.” Alyssa yelled.
As everyone went into the laundromat the atmosphere changed. The group who was once happy and looking forward to tomorrow was tired and all around grouchy.
“Guys am I the only one that feels like this trip isn’t worth it. Like I mean Alyssa’s parents literally disowned her.”
“No you aren’t the only one I totally get it. Maybe we are wasting away are lives”
As silence overtook the room the only thing you could here was the slight sound of water swishing and the gentle tumble of the dryer.
“You know what screw this! Why are we all sitting here groaning about this trip. This trip is our last one before we go off to college. Instead of being grouchy and acting like butts we need to make this trip the best thing ever.” Alyssa got up and marched over to the speaker that was sitting in the corner and plugged her phone in. The first song that popped in was, ‘Year 3000’ by the Jonas Brothers.
“Oh my gosh I haven’t heard this song in forever.”
“Oh my gosh let’s GOOOOO”
Everyone jumped up and starting dancing around the room. Screaming the lyrics at the top of their lungs.
Quickly their moods lifted. As everyone looked at one another they realized truly how much this trip meant to them. Here they were after being friends anywhere from 7 to 3 years, on their last vacation as teenagers before they go to college. They were so thankful for this trip and each other.
After spending two hours in the laundromat they were finally back on the bus. They ended up just deciding to lock it up and sleep in the parking lot.
As everyone was falling asleep, Alyssa and Kayla were still sitting in the front of the RV.
“I’m so sorry excited for tomorrow.!”
“Me too Alyssa! I feel like we all need this!”
“We got to look fly for pictures”
“You know it boo” Kayla laughed.
Little did they know that tomorrow would change one of their lives forever. Or maybe both of their lives?
Well this chapter was pretty chill. Wonder what will happen that will change their lives?? 😜
The morning they were leaving had finally arrived. Alyssa was upstairs finishing packing her bags.
“Mom! Have you send my phone charger? I can’t find it anywhere!!”
“I don’t know why you are wasting you time packing. Your dad and I already said you can’t go.”
“That’s completely unfair and ridiculous. It’s not like I’ll be gone the whole summer.”
“This trip is nothing but a distraction from preparing for college. You aren’t going. End of discussion.”
Alyssa headed up stairs as she rolled her eyes.
‘How can my parents be so unfair’ Alyssa thought to herself as she started unpacking.
*ding*
Alyssa was sitting on her bed listening to sad music when Kayla busted through the door.
“What the freak?! What do you mean your parents are being unfair?? Why are your suitcases empty??”
“My parents won’t let me go. They say this trip is a distraction from college.”
“Well that’s crap. It’s not like we won’t be back before school starts.”
“That’s what I told them but they wouldn’t listen.”
After sitting in silence for a few seconds, Kayla jumps off the bed and grabs Alyssa’s suitcase.
“What the heckling are you doing?”
“What does it look like I’m doing?” Kayla threw a bunch of clothes in the suitcase.
“I already told you they won’t let me go.”
“I already told you we’d go no matter what our parents say” Kayla smirked. “This is our last summer together until we will literally be across the country from each other. We’ve spent every second of every summer together for the last 7 years are you really going to let your parents ruin this?”
“Freaking screw it. I’m going end of story” Alyssa quickly packed everything she would need and headed down the stairs.
As the girls headed out the front door Alyssa’s parents quickly followed.
“Where do you think your going?? We already told you you weren’t going. Get your butt back inside.”
“Sorry I can’t do that”
As the 4 of them looked up here came Harry’s RV down the driveway.
The girls started walking to their friends as Harry and Niall got out of the front of the RV.
“KAYLA” “ALYSSA” “DON’T WALK AWAY FROM US”
“What’s up with your parents babe?” Niall looked at Alyssa.
“They don’t think this is a good idea.” Alyssa handed Niall her stuff.
Right as the we’re getting ready to step onto the RV Alyssa’s parents called out.
“Alyssa Forrest, if you step foot on the RV you aren’t welcome home.”
Everyone’s mouths in the vehicle fell open.
“Hey babe you should probably go back”
“ You know what if they’re going to treat me like that screw them. I’m going. I don’t freaking care anymore.”
Alyssa turned to look back at her parents and jumped in the RV.
Everyone in the RV cheered as Harry started on the road.
After it got silent, everyone started to hear sniffling.
“Woah woah woah who’s crying? We should make it a rule that there’s no crying on our trip.” Louis looked at everyone.
“Alyssa, I’m sorry. That was really crappy of us to put that much pressure on you. Harry, turn around we need to take her home.”
“No, Kayla it’s fine. It’s not you guys. I really want to go.”
“As long as your comfortable with it, babe” Niall turned around in his seat.
“Okay let’s get this road trip started. Which direction are we going? I kinda need to know which way to turn.” Harry laughed
“Hit the freaking freeway bro.” Liam yelled across the entire RV.
“Turn the tunes on. A road trip isn’t good until there’s music.”
“Oohhh I got it!!!! I have a road trip playlist.” Louis handed his phone to Niall.
“Of course you do.” Zayn rolled his eyes.
Alyssa sat next to the window processing what had just happened.
“Hey, you okay boo? You’ve been quite since we left.” Kayla sat next to Alyssa.
“Yeah I’m fine. It just kinda hit me what just happened.”
“Well even if your parents get rid of you, you always have me. I’m not going anywhere. Ever.” Kayla hugged Alyssa.
“Awwwww” The entire bus erupted.
“Shut the freak up” Alyssa laughed.
“Seriously though. No one is being left behind ever. We will always be best friends and that’s all that matters.” Liam smiled.
“Great speech Li. Really inspirational.” Louis clapped.
“Thanks for ruining the moment...”
*3 hours later*
“Hey guys is anyone else getting hungry. I’m starving” Harry said from the drivers seat.
“I could eat.”
“Niall you can always eat.” Laughs Alyssa.
“Hey don’t judge me.”
“Okay I’m going to stop at McDonald’s since it’s at the nest exit.” Harry switched lanes.
While Harry ordered all the food Zayn and Louis popped up the table while everyone else found a seat. After they got the food everyone dug in.
“Mmmmm this is so good”
“I didn’t realize how hungry I was.”
“Harry how far are we from Utah?” Louis asked with his mouth full of food.
“I don’t know maybe 2 hours” Harry said will turning the turning signal on. As Harry took the turn he turned the wheel too much which caused Louis drink to go flying everywhere. All the pop landed on Kayla and Alyssa who happened to be sitting in the booth across from him.
Kayla let out a super high pitched, “AHHHHHHH!!!! Louis look what you did. You ruined my pants. I have no sweatpants now”
“Look what I did?! It was freaking Harold who turned like a psycho!”
“Guys I’m sorry it’s so difficult to turn while holding a hamburger!!”
“Harry we have to find a laundromat. I can’t survive without sweatpants.”
“I brought a ton of sweatpants. You can just where those, love.”
“See problem solved” Louis shrugged is shoulders.
“You’re lucky Tomlinson.” Kayla eyed Louis.
After everyone finished eating it was a pretty chill afternoon. Harry and Kayla took the front seats and chatted quitely amongst themselves. Liam, Maya, Zayn, and Gigi played uno for literally hours. Niall and Louis were playing FIFA and being extremely loud. Alyssa and Eleanor were scrolling on their phones and occasionally showing each other something.
2 pm came around and they hadn’t stopped since McDonald’s. Kayla had to pee since 1, but didn’t want to make a pit stop. She has always hated to be a burden. She couldn’t hold it any longer though.
“Harry I have to pee like really really bad”
“Why didn’t you pee at McDonald’s?”
“I didn’t have to then.”
“Okay well it might be a little bit before I can stop. We are literally in the middle of nowhere.”
“Harry I don’t think you understand, I have to pee like now. It’s not my fault the stupid toilet doesn’t work in the RV. So find me a bathroom ASAP.”
“Harry it has been 10 minutes and we still haven’t stopped. I’m going to actually pee my pants.” Kayla said panicked.
“The exit is right here. You can pee in like 5 minutes.” Harry took the exit to Salt Lake City, Utah.
By this time everyone knew Kayla had to pee. I mean she had only said it twelve times.
Harry pulled in a Kwik stop while Kayla unbuckled her seatbelt.
“Kayla chill we haven’t even rolled to a stop yet.”
“Harry I can’t good it any longer. I NEED TO GO PEEEEE!!!”
“Kayla you can’t just jump out of the moving RV”
Everyone when from laughing at their bickering to dead serious as Kayla flung the door open and jumped out.
“KAYLA WHAT THE FREAK” Harry slammed into the brakes makes Gigi fly off of Zayn’s lap onto the ground.
“Alyssa run after her!! I don’t want her to go by herself and die!” Harry stately sounding freaked out.
“I got her! Kayla wait I’m coming with!!!”
“I HAVE TO PEE!” Kayla yelled across the parking lot gaining weird looks from everyone there.
Once Kayla got to the bathroom she sat down on the toilet only to find she started her period.
“Oh crap!!”
“What’s wrong?” Alyssa asked from the stall next to her.
“I started my period and I didn’t bring anything. I wasn’t supposed to start right now.”
“Oh. I would totally share some with you, but I didn’t bring any tampons. I’m sorry.” Alyssa yelled over the toilet flushing.
“It’s okay. I’ll just buy s—crap I didn’t bring my wallet with me. I new I forgot something.”
“Oh that ain’t good.” Alyssa said looking at Kayla through the mirror.
“It’s okay. I’ll just wrap toilet paper up and home it works.” Kayla looked concerned “I’m sure it will be okay.”
As the girls walked back to the RV Kayla hopped in the front seat looking at Harry. He looked ticked.
“Sorry I just couldn’t hold it.” Kayla smiled sheepishly.
Harry didn’t even respond. He just started the engine and drove off.
Everyone went back to what they were doing. Except for Harry and Kayla. He wouldn’t even speak a word to her. She knew he was mad.
“Hey Liam you haven’t had a turn to ride shotgun. You can come sit up here with Harry.”
Liam hopped up from his spot on the couch and ran up to take it.
Awhile passed and it was super awkward in the bus. Usually Harry and Kayla were talking and being all lovey dovey, but not now.
Kayla walked up to the front of the RV, “ Harry how much longer until we get to Wyoming?”
Harry didn’t answer.
“Harry, what time are we going to be in Wyoming?” Kayla asked again.
Still no answer.
Liam looked uncomfortably between Harry and Kayla, “probably an hour or so.”
“Thanks Li.” Kayla softly smiled.
As she walked back to her seat she couldn’t help but cry. Here she was, started her period with no pads and now her boyfriend wouldn’t talk to her. This trip was going so well.
As Harry drove down the highway all he could think about was the fact that the love of his life jumped out of a moving vehicle. She could have been hurt or worse. Liam was going on about some song he had recently found, but Harry couldn’t focus on anything but Kayla. He happened to look in the rierveiw mirror and saw Kayla. It broke his heart.
There she was sitting on the couch by herself, staring out the window with tears falling down her cheeks. How could he have been so mean to her? He slammed on the breaks almost sending Liam into the dash.
“Whoa what the heck Harry? What’d you do that for?” Niall said as he picked is phone up off the ground from where it flew off the table.
Harry said nothing. Just through it into park and jumped out of the drivers seat.
“He does realize he’s in the middle of the road right?!”
“We’re going to die!!”
Harry ran around the front of the RV and jumped in the back. Everyone was so confused what was happening.
“Babe I’m so sorry I was a jerk. I shouldn’t have treated you like that. It just scared me when you did that. I can’t lose you.” Harry said staring into Kayla’s year filled eyes.
Kayla didn’t say a word, just grabbed onto Harry for dear life and hugged him. Harry through the keys at Liam and told him to drive. Liam panicked a little as he had never driven anything so big before.
“Louis go sit up there with Liam and keep him company” Niall looked at Louis.
Louis ran up to the front like a giddy kid in a candy shop.
“I’m sorry I’m crying. It’s not just y-you.” Kayla sniffled. “ I started my period and didn’t bring anything and now I’m going to ruin all my pants.”
“Babe why didn’t you say anything. I have tampons in the bathroom for when you stay over.”
“I didn’t say anything because you wouldn’t talk to me.”
Harry rubbed his neck, “ I’m sorry. Do you want to go clean up and then take a nap.”
“That sounds lovely.” Kayla wiped under her eyes.
“Hey guys were going to go take a nap. Kaylas tired”
“Okay! I’ll keep driving straight” Liam stated from the drivers seat.
“You know a nap really sounds good right now. I think that’s what I’m going to do to.”
Everyone agreed with Zayn. So they all ended up taking naps.
While everyone was sound asleep Liam and Louis were actually getting along for once.
“Liam, I know I annoy you a lot and don’t say it much, but I really do love ya man.” Louis looked at Liam.
“Thanks mate I love you too” Liams eyes crinkled as he smiled.
Louis and Liam had always argued. Liam was so mature and Louis was... well like a big kid, so they always butted heads.
As they continue to drive it started raining. And by raining I mean pouring. Liam could barely see 2 feet in front of the RV. You could say he was panicking a little.
Harry awoke to the sound of rain hitting the window in his room. He quickly jumped up. You see Harry never liked people driving his RV; especially when it rained. As he passed through the kitchen he noticed it was already 5 pm. Had they really slept that long?
“Liam pull over and let me drive. It makes me nervous letting someone else drive my baby.”
“Gladly” Liam pulled over to the side of the road and let Harry jump in the front seat.
All the commotion woke everyone else up. As they continued going down the road, Harry murged onto the interstate.
“ I hate driving on the interstate”
“You could always let me drive.”
“Louis I would rather let a baby drive my RV.”
At this point everyone was back in the living area.
“Well I have to shower and I want to first. So I’m gonna go do that.” Alyssa walked towards the bathroom after grabbing her things.
All the girls ran to get their stuff so they wouldn’t be last. With that many people to shower it wasn’t until 9 that they were all showered and ready for bed. Niall and Harry were not riding in the front while Gigi and Maya were fighting over what movie to watch. They finally agreed on some random romance movie.
“We will have to figure out the sleeping arrangements. I’m obviously taking the master since it’s my RV. That leaves 2 bunks, the couch, and the floor.
“I’m not sleeping on the floor just saying” Louis said sounding like a royal pain.
“Maya and I can take the floor as long as we switch out everyday” Liam stated.
“Zayn and I can take the couch. It’s really no biggie.” Gigi offered.
“Okay that means Alyssa, Niall, Louis, and Eleanor get the beds”
As the night winded down everyone had gone to their sleeping areas except for Niall and Harry; they were still seated in the front of the RV.
“I think I’m just going to drive through the night. That way we can hit more places.”
“I’ll stay up with ya mate.”
As the night rolled on everyone was excited to see what tomorrow holds. Today may have been boring but tomorrow they were going to be stopping at quite a few places.
