When the other mentioned Alf, he couldn’t hold back the genuine grin that tugged on his lips. Yeah, he understood what the other meant. “Alf… Ah, he’s no fun sometimes, but I guess I was considerin’ ta forsake this world ta get ‘em back a coupla times, so I get ya.” Uncrossing his arms from behind his head, he hummed, then nodded in sympathy. “I fought with that soldier before, too. He’s no joke. Good thing yer still alive.”

“Alba must thought of us all as friends, I don't think it really counts either.”

He took a deep breath and his gaze was lost in a random spot. “Well, Hime… “ he hadn't noticed her until he heard the confession from her. It had become a complex relationship but they both cared about each other, that was an immovable truth.

At least he was able to name someone other than his sister and the kids at school.

“What do you mean I have no friends? Of course I do.” he replied in a not at all friendly tone.

He started thinking about all the people he knew and sadly the closest thing to a friend he had was Alba. But Alba was nice to everyone, did it really count?

“Alf’s my friend. Dunno know who else counts. It would be nice if Alba-san thought of me as his friend, too~” Though it felt more like he was his monitor. Well, whatever. He’s just happy he met him. “Do ya really have friends? You’re always busy with one thing or ‘nother, first your sis and now teachin kids — Ah, are ya countin the kids as your friends? …That’s kinda sad.”

What was this guy's problem? Being so annoying could only mean that he wanted attention but didn't know how to ask for it like a normal person.

Foy could understand the taste of wanting to disappear as a dramatic character, an ending with pyrotechnics and so much drama. But he was also a teacher now, and there were certain things about the way Elf spoke that he found disturbing.

Elf seemed genuinely thrown off by how easily the other accepted his antics, but only for a second. “Hm~ Alba-san said I have ta work as a scientist alongside him, so I can’t be fun and evil anymore. I can only be annoyin now.” He sure didn’t have any trouble admitting that out loud. “I was gonna bother ya by taggin along ya for the day, but I guess ya can’t have any plans if ya don’t have any friends.” No filter.
