i expect basic rp etiquette and have zero tolerance for bigotry or “proship” rhetoric. note that i block very freely to curate my online spaces. if i have you blocked, it’s probably not personal, but please don’t go seeking out reasons why. i will not write with characters from certain fandoms — including, but not limited to: harry potter, attack on titan, hazbin hotel and stranger things. i am highly duplicate, crossover and oc friendly.

shipping is very far from my main priority here. i am open to discussing it for characters within rei’s age range, but it’s not my focus and i generally lean more towards character exploration and rei forming lasting, meaningful dynamics, romantic or not.

use simple formatting when writing with me. for my own formatting, i use regular - sized text and occasionally colored text, but that is about the extent of it. please don’t use lightly colored text or fancy fonts in your replies to me. basically anything inaccessible.

my interpretation of rei is not canon compliant. please try to avoid assuming anything about my portrayal and message me if you have any questions. this blog is generally plot - focused, though i may throw out starter calls from time to time.

they're crouched by the edge of a pond watching brilliantly colored koi swim on by with a blank expression. the fish are massive and cognizant enough to follow their finger as they drag it to and fro above the surface. " but i guess not every human loves life either. maybe it's rude to speculate. "

rei’s eyes are dreamy and distant,  gaze pulled away from the fish and towards the horizon:  bit by bit,  the sun dips lower into a sky coalesced in color.   soon,  it will be dark,  and they’ll have to go back inside.   lower lip caught between her teeth,  rei finds herself lamenting it.   time spent with aylen is usually punctuated by long intervals of quiet,  only occasionally interrupted by murmured words as new thoughts float into their head ...   but somehow,  she finds the silence shared between the two of them to be more comfortable than ordinary silence.

you might not have been able to tell that she was listening to aylen speak at all,  though,  were it not for her muted hum of acknowledgment.   maybe it is rude.   after a beat,  she looks back down to the koi.

“ i hope ... ”     she trails off.   as always,  rei never really can find the right words  —  it feels like blindly reaching up and grasping at the air in search of what to say,  for something that encompasses her feelings,  whatever they might be.   something that sounds like she means it.   something that lingers.

“ i like to watch them swim around.   i know that things like that don’t make a difference to fish,  but ...   i hope they know i’d be sad if they weren’t here. ”

she doesn’t turn to face aylen when she asks,  almost carelessly,     “ ... do you love your life ? ”
