the invisible string between cats and women
i’ve always been fascinated with cats. i’ve always called cats feminine, while calling dogs masculine. i’ve noticed how both women and cats are drawn to each-other naturally. i’ve noticed how both women and cats have been demonized by society for simply just existing.
when christianity was brought to europe, cats were painted as the devil during the middle ages, especially black cats. they deemed that black cats were bad omens, unlucky, and evil. people had cruel intentions towards cats where they would blame and kill them. halloween was a horrible time, because people would go out and hunt for black cats to kill them.
they roped women into this and called them witches. in the media, witches have companions that are black cats. many women were called witches because it’s rooted in misogyny. they would also be hunted and burned with the only proof of committing a crime, was just existing.
cats are seen as moody and bratty because they value boundaries. if you pet them too much, they bite. women often do the same thing, you provoke them too much, they bite. men do not like at all.
i’ve always felt anger walking into a store to see hundreds of isles for dogs, while only seeing half of an isle for cats. i feel as if they provide less for cats, because they don’t see the importance or value of cats, similarly to how society views women’s.
society doesn’t treat women as a human, because of the constant objectification they had to endure. men would take women’s inventions, and write their name on it. the patriarchy is the root of it all. quite frankly, a lot of things wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for the smart and intelligent women who have paved the way for invention and technology.
on the other hand, the egyptians saw cats as companions. the cats chased and killed pest, and egyptians called them divine. women in egypt were seen as an equal. in egypt, the egyptians saw cats as a symbol of fertility, which is poetic, because women symbolizes creation.
I was baffled to find out a lot of people don't like "x reader" when that's all I read...
i got into a big rabbit hole on tiktok, saw a quinn hughes post and i feel him.
just standing there and spacing out. which i do. every single day.
STOP PUTTING YOUR OC UNDER “X READER”!!!!! I DONT WANT TO READ YOUR STINKY LOVE STORY, *I* WANT TO BE THE LOVE STORY!!!!
Can I just say that Neteyam and Ao’nung literally have no reason to be a ship like no chemistry or anything. Hell, they literally beat eachother up because Ao’nung was teasing/bullying Kiri for being different. Ao’nung became friends with LO’AK not Neteyam. Sure its just a ship and that its not canon or anything but.. Oh My Goodness Gracious Me I hate it. No chemistry or anything. Only got along because both of their fathers told them and because Neteyam was staying at Ao’nung village.
i started my period today, then i began to wonder
what's the na'vi culture around periods? are the na'vi women left to bedrest? do they have some kind of equivalent to pads? do they get periods at all?
i imagine they do, because they are supposed to be similar to humans, or at least primates.
especially since they are the pandoran equivalent to humans, i'd figure that aspect would be similar too.
idk guys comment down below do na'vi get periods or no
I have a headcannon after rewatching ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ that the Na’vi rub/massage a corpses legs so that they still move around within the afterlife, especially right after passing. Sort of how Tsireya did to Neteyam after his death and when she was left alone with his body**
Another reason on why i think this is because we saw him jump onto Spider at the ending of the third movie. One detail i did notice was that he was the only major character that died who did move from all the other deaths we saw e.g. Tsu’tey didn’t move because he was in the middle of a war with no time for a proper passing exactly like Ronal and Roxto (my boy).
Wacky headcannon, I know, but it just feels right with how the Na’vi respect life on James’ moon and how its said “Energy is borrowed and at death all energy is returned (to Eywa)”

**I’m insanely upset that the Sully’s, ESPECIALLY Lo’ak, left a 14 year old girl that has never experienced conflict as big as the end fight in the second movie.
Happy to answer any questions about my little headcannon and hopefully I’ll post more of these little dabbles and stuff more!
How it feels to keep changing your OC lore and design
