Dee’s Dress - It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia 3x08

This dress Dee wears to the club seems to be a tunic/blouse/mini dress from Mango.

I did not realise Mango was available in the USA today, let alone in 2007/2008, but according to my research their first USA stores opened in New York and California in 2006. And sure it makes sense because other European retailers like Zara and H&M were/are popular.

And IASIP split/splits filming and production between Philly and… California

TV shows like Gossip Girl would match high end bags/shoes with Zara blouses and french toast skirts. Or famously have Blair Waldorf wear a H&M dress and a Marc Jacobs dress in the same episode (yes in the flashback to thanksgiving before serena went to boarding school blair wears a h&m dress - and serena wears forever 21 lol!)*

I was originally thinking this could be a situation like the coat Summer wore in the O.C 2x14, where multiple brands had made coats with the same fabric - and that could still be the case!

But the pattern and details on this one are identical so i’m calling it a match. Especially the area where the sleeves connect to the main torso section, you can see where the seams line up to the pattern.

* EDIT: obligatory “the o.c did it first” in terms of matching designer accessories/shoes with more affordable clothing.

Lynn’s dress - Girlfriends 2x11 & 2x14

In multiple Girlfriends season 2 episodes, Lynn wears a cherry dress by Marc Jacobs.

This is in the episodes “you better watch out” whilst decorating joan’s house for christmas and “willie or won’t he ii: the final chapter” when attending Yvonne’s wedding shower.

Her fashion in S2 does have a period where she wears primarily long sleeves with maxi skirts or trousers in a darker color palette. This is a clear departure from that.

Also considering Lynn is living in Mayas Mom’s garage at this point how did she get a Marc Jacobs dress? Although maybe she managed to get it via Joan or Toni?

You can also see a background extra wear this dress in S4 when joan has the auction!

Rita’s Blazer - Arrested Development 3x05

In the episode titled…. 🎶Mr F🎶….. Rita (portrayed by Charlize Theron) wears a silk blazer by Juicy Couture.

I have actually had this one IDed in the drafts of my blogspot from 2022-2023 but for some reason never posted jt? but now since i’m using this page more often I probably should start posting those drafts here!

This is quite a fun and fitting choice - Rita (although played by a South African actress) is a British character and Juicy Couture’s non tracksuit clothing drew some inspiration from British fashion/imagery: the tartan or argyle knit pieces, scottie dogs, rugby style polo shirts and even at one point using imagery of queen elizabeth ii on shirts (obligatory fuck the royals)

Fun Fact: One of the brands founders Gela (the G in love P&G) is married to John Taylor, of Duran Duran and spends a lot of time in the UK.

Catherine’s tank top - CSI 6x01

Catherine wears a knit tank by Missoni. The stripes all line up, but the ruffled/ scalloped bottom of the piece is tucked into her pants.

Obligatory mention that this top is part of the outfit she wears when Catherine and Warrick talk about his marriage & acknowledging that there was some sort of crush there.

Dee’s track pants - It’s always sunny in Philadelphia 2x06

In the gang gives back, dee wears Juicy Couture snap pocket track pants in a green color. I have tried to find a good match online but also aware that Juicy would make like 5-10 variations on primary colors, so idk if it’s an exact match.

I do however think that this would likely be a pair from late 2004- early 2006 which would have the “love P&G” logo and color coded tags. Just basing this off of the fact that the jacket i posted about also has this same tag!

Sweet Dee’s jacket - It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia 2x06

In “the gang gives back” Dee wears a gilet by Juicy Couture. I have been able to find this online in various other color ways (green/navy/pink, red/orange/yellow and brown/light/hot pink) but not in the black/grey/white that dee wears.

It is definitely Juicy as you can see the large J zip. and the same color block pattern with the stripes that run up the side.

Chastity’s dress - 10 things i hate about you

I tried to post this earlier on work wifi and it flopped so trying again. I’m just summarising my previous post from memory 💔💔

Chastity (portrayed by Gabrielle Union) wears a midi dress by Betsey Johnson to prom. I was aware of this previously (as i have a mini dress in this snake pattern - also seen on Ling in Ally Mcbeal S2) but have only seen the exact match come up this morning!

Ling’s dress - Ally Mcbeal 3x05

To Ally’s disaster thanksgiving, Ling wears this fun 60s inspired shift dress.

The dress is from the brand “girlfriend by silversilk”. I have tried to research this brand and it seems to be a female counterpart to the silversilk menswear brand? it’s honestly quite hard to tell because there isn’t much information out there. A jewellery company also has the name silversilk but i couldn’t find anything about a clothing collection related to them?

If anyone has any memories or knowledge of this brand let me know! I was also able to find a press photo online where you can see she paired this with boots.

Toni’s polka dot dress - Girlfriends 3x07 and 3x22

In the episode where Toni and Todd’s families meet she wears this black polka dot dress. I recognised it immediately as BCBGMaxAzria!

This dress was also worn in the episode where she attends ellis’ premiere with laila ali

and a fun double spot for you all because this dress was also worn by Kelly Clarkson during American idol press. I also believe that Mischa Barton wore a similar dress from BCBGMAXAZRIA for a photo shoot in 2003 (which likely date back to the same collection as Girlfriends s3 and Kelly on american idol also was within the 2002-2003 timeframe)

There are several listings for this dress on depop, poshmark and probably ebay. photo of this dress is not mine and taken from an Depop listing.

Toni had amazing style. Like i’ve rewritten this post a few times but i can’t seem to express how much i love her style in words.

Lynn’s intro dress - Girlfriends season 7 & 8

In the promotional material and intro for seasons 7 and 8 of Girlfriends, Persia White as Lynn wears a dress by Costume National.

This is a fun one because it is actually a runway piece (from the Costume National F/W 2005 collection). This dress is featured on lynn in the intro for the final 2 seasons.

I also love how you can still see Persia White’s arm tattoos through the dress and the layers/sheer areas in the skirt.

Lynn’s denim top - Girlfriends 4x22

Lynn wears a denim bustier/corset top by D&G in girlfriends season 4! I have actually owned this for 2 years because i’m obsessed with Lynns outfits but i had only ever seen episodes of girlfriends in passing.

as you may know D&G is a sub/diffusion brand of Dolce and Gabbana, which was cheaper and more accessible. So Lynn wearing the brand does seem quite fitting with her character and her status within the show.

Ling’s Jacket - Ally Mcbeal 2x09

Ling wears the grey version of the betsey johnson jacket she wore in 2x07! I was pretty sure it was the same jacket but managed to find this poshmark listing to confirm it! I also recall her wearing this later in season 2 but will have to see if i can remember which episode!

also the bustier pictured above here could possibly be what she wore under the jacket in 2x07 (in the alt red/yellow colorway)

I have been working on updating my navigation on the pinned - have added some more characters and shows that i will be posting for!

i have a few girlfriends finds ready but just trying to sort out episode numbers because i have been watching re runs rather than streaming/watching on DVD. But some cool Lynn and Maya finds that i have had ID-ed and even managed to purchase should be coming soon ish!

Summers v-neck - The O.C. 1x04

While rehearsing for the debutante ball, summer wears a v-neck pink ribbed longsleeve (although she rolls the sleeves to be 3/4 length) t-shirt.

This is a t-shirt made by the one and only Juicy Couture, a brand favored by the wardrobe department in season one.

The shirt on the left (photos taken from an ebay listing), is the most similar in cut however it is beige and not the pink summer wears.

The shirt on the right is the right color and ribbed material but it is a crew neck with 3/4 sleeves.

I own a juicy v-neck shirt similar to summers but it is red and short sleeved!

Summer pairs this juicy t-shirt with a striped skirt, black wedges and the medium cherry necklace in silver by white trash charms.
