Dee’s Dress - It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia 3x08

This dress Dee wears to the club seems to be a tunic/blouse/mini dress from Mango.

I did not realise Mango was available in the USA today, let alone in 2007/2008, but according to my research their first USA stores opened in New York and California in 2006. And sure it makes sense because other European retailers like Zara and H&M were/are popular.

And IASIP split/splits filming and production between Philly and… California

TV shows like Gossip Girl would match high end bags/shoes with Zara blouses and french toast skirts. Or famously have Blair Waldorf wear a H&M dress and a Marc Jacobs dress in the same episode (yes in the flashback to thanksgiving before serena went to boarding school blair wears a h&m dress - and serena wears forever 21 lol!)*

I was originally thinking this could be a situation like the coat Summer wore in the O.C 2x14, where multiple brands had made coats with the same fabric - and that could still be the case!

But the pattern and details on this one are identical so i’m calling it a match. Especially the area where the sleeves connect to the main torso section, you can see where the seams line up to the pattern.

* EDIT: obligatory “the o.c did it first” in terms of matching designer accessories/shoes with more affordable clothing.

Sure, I can definitely do a collection tour! To start, here’s the smaller jewelry and prop items:

The clothing collection is sorted by character and then at the end I have the doomcoming dresses and jackets.

The video doesn’t show everything in my clothing collection as I have some other “close match” items but I took them down to have enough room for the actual “screen accurate” items (the coats are bulky and I don’t normally keep them here). Speaking of, technically Taissa’s leather jacket is something I share with my sister but I figured I’d still include it as it’s half mine (she has her own mini collection).

With the exception of one of the items I believe I’ve posted about everything else already so you can find the specific IDs on my blog. If you have any questions though about any of the pieces please feel free to reach out!

I’ve been building up my Yellowjackets collection for a few years now so admittedly it’s pretty large but I love to hearing about your guy’s collections (no matter the size) as helping you guys find pieces you enjoy from the show is one of my favorite things about running this blog! It’s the 1967 pocket books edition

Something you don’t realize is how huge this book is, 862 pages. The fact Pony and Johnny were close to being done with this in 5 days is insane (though what else did they have to do)

Anyways, here’s to it hopefully being better than Great expectations 🤞 (seriously don’t. The fact they made kids read that in high school should be considered torture.)
