Day 112: The Coney Challenge

Detroiters love their coney island! There is a bit of a riverlary between American Coney Island and Lafayette Coney Island so we thought we would put the coneys up to the challenge. I think American's was prettier but Lafayette's was the best tasting, hands down! My better half disagrees and thinks American Coney Island was the best tasting and aesthetically appealing. I guess you will have to take the challenge for yourself!

Day 111: Visit The Urban Garden

Detroit now has an urban garden. It is very beautiful and a nice addition to the city. Anyone in the area should check it out. There are tables and chairs for picnics. Their big planting day is this Saturday, May 10th!

Day 110: Shoot A Gun

I'm not a gun person and never have been. But I thought for the sake of the blog it would be an experience to go to a shooting range and give it a try. I was hoping to feel relieved or exhilarated. I was hoping maybe I would want to pick up a new hobby. It didn't work. The sounds of the gun shots made me feel stressed and hard to focus. We were taught about guns and how to hold and shoot with accuracy. It was a good experience but we have not converted. Still not gun people but "to each their own."

Day 109: Keratin & Extensions

As a hair stylist it is important to have good hair. Klix extensions are beautiful and every stylists dream as they look very natural and are made of human hair (so they style and react like human hair). The keratin treatment is amazing since it has reduced my frizz and waves dramatically and has cut my drying time in half! The first picture is my hair after the keratin treatment and the second is of my hair after all of the hair was put in prior to being cut and styled.

Day 108: LipoLaser?!?!

Thanks to LivingSocial we were able to try LipoLaser for 55% off near our home. Commercials bombard the TV about LipoLaser technology and coolsculpting and I was always sceptical. I hate to say it but it works! In just a few treatments and drinking 8 glasses of water a day I lost 4 inches around my waist. No more exercise than I was already putting in and no dietary changes. Unfortunitly we can't afford to continue regularly at full price but if it is something you are interested in I would give it a try. It's not hot and completely non-invasive.

Day 107: Massage Class

Unfortunately we were unable to take pictures as we took this class with other couples. However, if you are in the metro Detroit area check out Beauty & Bodyworks for an excellent classes. We took the couples class where we got to learn professional massage techniques!

Day 106: Time Capsule

We ordered a time capsule from the Smithsonian Institute and filled it with memorabilia we would like to see again in the future. This time capsule is buried in our backyard for the kids to dig up in 20 years. In 2034 they will find pictures, gifts from us, collectors coins, and more.

Day 105: Plan For "The End"

It's not fun, but making the arrangements for the event of your death is important. Especially, if there are children involved. My in-laws forever reside in niches in a mausoleum in Clinton Township. Since their passing we have wanted to purchase the niches below theirs so we can all be together again one day. Due to the expense it has been easy to put off, but we finally did it.
