I figured "I now pronounce you man and wife" was a pretty common phrase and might be a sort of cultural idiom. It is. The traditional combo is "marino y mujer" which has nice aliteration, but leads to the unfortunate (in my opinion) conflation of "woman" and "wife". Although I guess we sometimes say "man and wife" instead of "husband and wife". Anyway, "esposa" is sometimes used. I went with that for those reasons, as well as the internal aliteration with "pingüino".
Waterfowl is "ave acuática" which is what DeepL suggested, but I thought that was too clunky. I went with "penguin and wife" or "pingüino y esposa".
At first I had no idea what the hell "os" was. I thought maybe DeepL had accidentally shifted to Portuguese. But after some consideration I realized that "os" was just "nos" for "you-all" instead of "us". I like that. However, it's apparently mostly used in Spain. In Mexico, they use "se" for "ustedes". So I changed it.
I had "puedes" but DeepL suggested "usted puede" which makes sense in this formal setting. Also, having the "usted" explicit seems more formal as well.
I guessed at "besar" and got it. But I didn't have the "a" after which it apparently needs.
I remembered that "bride" is "novia" (which is also the same as "girlfriend" which seems… ripe for confusion.)
I had "pero" but DeepL says "para si", which apparently is "but" when used as a protest.
I guessed at "ante". DeepL left it out, but Google says "antes". Done.
I have no idea how to do "have kissed" except I think it's "ha-something besa-something". I was right about that. Also, needed the "a" again.

I got "para" but apparently you need the direct article. That bugs me, because I can't seem to sense the rule.
DeepL suggests "Aquí es" for "This is it" but I kept with "Esto es todo". I think DeepL thinks the context is "This is the thing you need to plant one on." But really, it's the same sense as yesterday's: this is the moment.
DeepL wouldn't translate Buckaroo and I couldn't find anything except "vaquero" for "cowboy". I went with "vaquerito" to give it the sense of a pet name, and also because Opus is short.
I went with "Salta aquí y los planta" all on my own. DeepL says "Salta aquí y plántalos". So damn close!

I farted around with "gentle". All the translations went with "gentle" like "touching softly" but that's not really what it's about. I ended up with "tiernos" which means "tender", but DeepL just punted and went with "queridos lectores" or "dear readers". After all that, I'm going with that too.
I went with "hice" for "did" which is actually "I did". Not sure why I did that. It should be "hizo". DeepL also put "our hero" after "did".
I went with "pasar" for "happen" but DeepL wanted "suceder" I guess "pasar" is mostly "pass", so I'll switch it.
I went with "después" for "afterward" but DeepL said "a continuación". Beyond what I know, so I'll concede.

DeepL said "acontecimientos" for events, but that looks more like an event an event planner would work on, like a wedding, rather than how it's used in this circumstance, where it means "important stuff that happens". "Sucesos" is closer to that it seems, so I'm keeping it.
I had "afectaría a sucesos" but apparently we need the definite article there. Again, something I'm gonna have to figure out what the rules are there.
I had "por formas" for "in ways", but DeepL says "de". No idea why, but okay.
Lots of ways to say "way": "manera", "modo", "forma". I can't recall why I picked "forma", but it seemed the most correct and DeepL agreed, so yay. I will say, I've seen all three of those out in the wild meaning "way".
Okay, I just learned there are three ways to say "but" in Spanish. It's usually "pero", except if the first phrase is negative. Like, "it's not tall, but short", or in this case, "not only, but also". I actually looked up "not only but also" and got "sino también". HOWEVER, if the two phrases include conjugated verbs then it's "sino que". So, here it's "sino que".
I had "destacaría" for "highlight", but I think now it's not the right shade. DeepL said "poner de relieve" and that looks good.
I had "hasta ahora" or "until now", but the thing wasn't in present tense. DeepL suggested "hasta entonces" which means "until then" and that matches the past tense going on in the sentence.
There is no word for "undiscovered". Instead, I went with "sin descubrir" but DeepL suggested "no descubierto". I think they're fairly synonomous, so I'll just stick with mine.
DeepL also put "hasta entonces" before "no descubierto", which matches the English order, but I switched them.
I put the definite article for "narices" but DeepL says no. Sigh
DeepL suggested "Lola no sufrió daños" or "Lola didn't suffer damage." So, that's pretty literal. I switched to "unharmed" and went with "Lola era ilesa" which literally means "unharmed/unscathed", though I just realized now I probably need "estar", not "ser".
I remembered that "groom" was "el novio" and that "however" is "sin embargo". Yay!
DeepL went with "fuera de combate" or "out of combat" which is idiomatic for knocked out. But I looked up "to knock out" and came away with "fue noqueado". It's a very physical sense of "bonked on the head and knocked out" which seemed appropriate. And it just seems like a fun word.
I guessed "continuo". DeepL says "Continúa" but that's a command, which doesn't feel right. I think "continued" is short for "to be continued" or "this is continued". That feels like past particple territory, so let's go with that.
Also, I noticed looking over some of my previous comics, I indicated I was making changes in the comments, but didn't actually make them in the text. Whoops. Well, I'm not going back to fix them all. Maybe I'll highlight the issue in a comment if I notice it again. I did find one in today's where I mentioned making the change but neglected to update the text. I fixed that.
