Caesa- lit: to cut
Caesa is a series of beliefs and actions around ritualistic haircutting. It is one technique used to cope with extreme changes and circumstances. It unfortunately comes from radical decontamination measures required during the Black Summer. In modern times it is related to superstitious thinking and rituals centered around protection. Caesa is most commonly practiced today as a means of coping with treatment hair loss. Its’ rarest form, which has all but gone extinct, is that practiced by one-way hazmen. It is done after they have been blessed by their attending chaplain, using their dager or a pair of scissors. the hair is screened for toxins, decontaminated if necessary and distributed to their relatives, spouse or next of kin. This practice, caesa reliquiae is legally forbidden for all other hazmen.

Both Magic and Regina are representations of how trauma impact the sense of self and core identity and are inspired by my own struggles with dissociation and osdd
honor those no longer with us
Early portrait of Saint David the atom scorched, having survived an extremely close distance to the centers of the several ss-18 “satan” missiles that hit new york
He was a very close companion to zero the hierophant and became the first notarized sage, able to recall any verse of the order’s “yellow bible”, their equivalent of a hafiz, who has memorized the quran. He is also responsible for passing the braile 95 initiative, aiming to bring “substantial” literacy to the now large visually impaired population by 1995 - to support this, several important books including the yellow bible itself were published in braille as early as mid 1991.
Ling “Tiger” Doe
Ling is one of the “original atomic 5” and remains the youngest saint canonized to this day. Although short, her life and tenure both shaped many small intricacies of life and society in the new millennium. Her given middle and last names remain a mystery, even after achieving widespread recognition and fame. The commonly reported leads of both Zhao and Chen ultimately unfortunately proved false. 1990’s “tiger bill” was passed in recognition of the “forgotten names crisis” of orphaned children too young to remember their given middle and last names, allowing for people to legally lack a middle name & for “Doe” to be a legal last name.
“Nobody dies au”
The only difference in this world is that Regina is able to destroy more of the central reactor before being “incapacitated”, thus allowing Magic and Carlton to both do the final blows 250 years later. Magic recovers from the radiation poisoning and goes on to be a technomancer in the nuclear sciences research division- a monk in all but belief. Carlton’s exposure is the final treatment needed to stabilize his condition and within days he is shockingly in remission from “saints disease”. He retires from his role as pope* and lives peacefully in obscurity. Idk what Electron is doing yet, but he’s there too
Alec :^]
Carltons uncle, He HATES electron and they fight so much that they’re not allowed to be near eachother during clergy meetings- he’s actually very nice he just looks like that

“Wake up”
False halo (divine machine)
A rare photo from within one of the countless nuclear power stations that now dot the landscape, a portrait of both worker and machine, of man and its creation.
Despite their ideals of equality under a perfect, orderly system, the atomic order does have sumptuary laws regulating who can wear what, with ribbon only allowed on caps for the purpose of condition awareness - a symbol of pride for many
Chroma primarily spends her time at the Oppose (Benton) broadcasting and power complex, the radar early warning facility was turned into a high powered radio tower during the dark ages. Oppose is the most powerful radio tower on the east coast. These days they listen more for other broadcasts than for missiles, constantly trying to improve the system and communicate over longer and longer distances.
