okay hear me out…

Naruto and Hinata were high school sweethearts who broke up in college due to long distance. the breakup was mutual, so they’re still friends and talk occasionally.

He’s lowkey a dumb jock, class clown, straight. But incredibly loyal and lovable despite it all. Like sunshine. He’s intrigued by the mysterious pretty boy in his gen ed class who makes him thirsty in ways he’d never imagined. But he still feels strongly for Hinata since she was his only girlfriend and they were together all throughout high school.

Sasuke who has always known he’s gay but never dated, maybe only had a couple hookups. A (pretentious) humanities student with a perfect gpa. when Naruto Uzumaki starts paying attention to him he’s taken off guard, but naruto makes him feel alive. They become tentative friends and hangout occasionally. But sasuke can’t stop thinking ‘Why is this straight frat guy clinging to him so strongly?’ He doesn’t want to be a rebound or someone’s experiment.

Lots of angst but eventual happy ending… probably
