“It’s rare that you found someone you always want to spend your time with, because how well your soul resonates with theirs. It’s like you and I, how we take so much joy and strength from each other’s presence. Oh, don’t get me wrong, you still drive me crazy from time to time. But still, I love you even when I hate you.”
— I love you even when I hate you.
In order to make a relationship last, you really have to flow with a person as they change. Give them space. My friend always told me about his grandfather who was with his wife for 60 years before she passed. His grandfather said that through all that time, his wife changed so much it felt like he had been with 8 different people by the end. But he said the secret to making it last was that through all those changes, he never suffocated his wife with his own idea of who he expected her to be. Rather he loved, fully, every new woman she became.
Why do the young poets all write about Persephone?
Maybe it’s because we can relate.
To a goddess?
To being half sunshine and half grave.

Dominance is not about control over a submissive. Dominance is about leading and the submissive following. These words have been said thousands of times by thousands of people. I suspect it will continue to be said for many years to come. Submissives do not seek people to control them. They seek a leader that proves time and time again that they are qualified to follow. Mistakes happen. Wrong decisions are made. It’s how you handle those decisions that make you reliable and trustworthy.
