A 4 mile run to get back on the âI fell off the bandwagon â.
I have things to share and the urge to write, so Iâm back to the place where I learned the power of being vulnerable. Stay tuned.
Me, to me.
Sometimes you donât reach the summit, and thatâs okay. My leg and mind were challenged. We set out to summit San Gorgonio (11,503 ft). With a 4am start time, the first 2.5 hours of the hike were done in complete darkness. After climbing almost 3,000 feet my leg had enough. 11.3 miles round trip- Iâll take it.
Wildlife spotted- a bear, deer, bats, and many birds.
Cucamonga Peak has redeemed itself- beautiful walking adventure with my âyesâ friend @jlcooler #sixpeakchallenge #godsplan #scottandjim https://www.instagram.com/p/Bmr2ajmHs1FpU257LuuOwNtCpkIXa9JYp5HPFM0/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=10tz82n8p1y9u
Lands End #lovelist #sf (at Lands End)
Took a 15-16 mile hike to Mount Wilson. Made a few detours, but made it.
But where is Tanzania? Preparation for Uhuru Peak has commenced!
I THINK there was a glitch, no way I ran an 8 minute mile.
My motherâs gift from the Netherlands đłđą are growing quite nicely #tulips #spring
Spring in the park. (at Joshua Tree National Park)
Hiking at the greenbelt, earning that bbq. (at Barton Creek Greenbelt)
Wine Night in the 805 (at Oxnard, California)
Questival Orange County 2018 On Friday-Saturday I partook in my first Questival! Going into the 24 hour event I wasnât completely sure what it was or what was expected. It turned out to be a memorable experience! The event itself involves a series of challenges for your team to complete. There were fitness and wellness categories as well as âdo goodâ and âquirkyâ categories. After you complete the challenge you had to upload a picture or short video ( to the app) with your team flag for proof. We had 24 hours to complete as many challenges as possible, with the exception of 1am-5am ( when the app went dark to force people to sleep). The event itself is put on by the amazing brand Cotopaxi. They summarize in their website, âThe old standard is, well, getting old. By empowering the people who make our gear, building lasting relationships, and ensuring our products come to life under fair, sustainable working conditions, weâre changing the supply chain for the better.â A few of the challenges included... ⢠eating Californiaâs fruit (Avocado) with a spoon. ⢠going on hikes ⢠exchanging items from your backpack with other teams â˘watching the sunrise â˘donating clothes ⢠getting a handful of flower thrown in your face by a random stranger Etc! I highly recommend! Not only did we get a neat Cotopaxi 15L backpack, we got a medal too!
Another successful encounter with nature #treatyoself #protectourparks #walkingmeditation #friendsandhikes (at Pinnacles National Park)
