Earlier this morning, while hosting a special V-Live broadcast, Koemi released her well anticipated comeback album “This Love,” coupled with a beautiful MV for the title track. In the live, she explained that she had a lot of care and hard work put into this album as a whole, and had a lot of helping hands to make it that much more special, and had even gone to explain special meanings behind certain songs, or behind the scenes stories.
The album is an 10 track album with one special bonus track, the underlying message from each song being centered around all different types of love. Koemi went to explain, “Love isn’t just black and white. It’s not something like ‘I love this person, so I’m going to be with them.’ It’s a whole greyscale. Love can be with others, with friends, family, pets, or even yourself. There’s accepted love, lost love, unrequited love…and I wanted to capture all of that, so there’s at least one song someone can truly feel connected to.”
Koemi went to explain that she had a handful of help through each song’s creating, and explained that the photobook that will come with the album has a large personal credits section thanking each person for their help, from lyrics, to producing, to even photography.

I want to thank Gemi ( @jemmio ) for her help with “My Way,” and I want to thank Rien ( @hiendrae ) for help with “Together” and “WIshful Thinking.”
“My Way” was a different style of music than something I usually do, and Gemi was the perfect help to capture exactly what I was hoping for. She had also helped with backtrack for the song. I feel that if I hadn’t had help from such a talented woman, than the song would be nothing like it is now.
Interestingly enough, the help I received from Rien for “Together” was actually months of texts between us, coupled together and re-worded slightly to create an entire song. It started out as fun, but soon enough, it became the song it is now. Had I not had his help, I don’t think the song would even exist.
For backtracks, those familiar names pop up again.
Along with helping with “My Way,” Gemi also took part and helped produce “GAME OVER” and the bonus track “STOP!” She had created the back music entirely, and i merely added lyrics to it.
A large, warmhearted thank you is especially needed for RIen, as he had a helping hand with almost every song. He truly is a natural, and I’m blessed to have his help with making sure every song is produced perfectly.
A special thanks also belongs to Cola ( @dyetcola ) for his help on “Lost Comet.” I was very excited to work with his style of music, and he didn’t disappoint one bit.
I would also like to thank my film team, and specifically David ( @daviscre ) for helping with each teaser photo and the filming of the MV and teasers. He has quite the touch with a camera.
Each feature for each song deserves a thank you as well. They had all taken time to work with me to create beautiful music for everyone.
[+2540 -84] Its so good to hear new music from her ! This was definitely worth the wait. There isn’t a single song on here I don’t like.
[+214 -4275] Why are there so many features ? She’s probably afraid if she releases music without any name attached to it she’ll flop like she did in the beginning of her career.

[ +854 -2] OK BUT can we talk about what she said about “Together.” That whole song is text messages she and Rien sent to each other ?! I swear guys my ship is sailing.
[ +450 -8] I’m here for that track Cola worked on, you can definitely tell it’s his style. Her voice really fits it, which surprised me.
