Going through, not over.
When thoughts are frowned upon
We connect violently downward
Spiralling we smile as we lose it all
Depression wraps it's arms around
Blackness kisses our foreheads
Yet we still don't lay down and die
Fears eat us up inside
Day by day our souls deteriorate
We try to fade into oblivion
Yet our hearts still beat in unison
Throats buckle under our weight
Tears push rivers down our cheeks
Gulleys of sadness eat upon us
Our brains fight past the frustration
Clumps of bile build in our guts
Acid eats away our stomach linings
But I won't lay down and die
For all the darkness outside
I fight for the sheer right to be alive
The brilliance in life few dare to see
The beauty within each living thing
The invisible but in plain sight
We miss them all but for it I will fight
Something has to break, us or it
But I will not sit and wait
Or roll over and give up
