“i miss you like the sun misses the moon in the all its light, perhaps more, i miss you like the waves yearn to meet its shore and i miss you like my heart misses yours and i guess i will always do.”

“Crashing waves on an empty beach, the rhythm of our hearts, two drowning lovers lost at sea, my lips adrift in yours.”
— Michael Faudet, The Kiss (via thelovejournals)
The other day I was watching a concert which gave me too much time to think, and I started thinking about this girl I knew who killed herself in 7th grade while I was in 8th grade. I started to imagine very vividly how that might’ve played out and I couldn’t stop as the tears started rolling down my face while I sat there at the concert. It’s been four years. I wondered why she couldn’t see that things would’ve gotten better for her, that they did for me. The paradox is that it’s too late to tell her now and I didn’t know it myself then. I wished she could’ve been at that concert, so that she would know the beauty that still exists in his world. After 8th grade, time moved on for me: I made new friends in high school, I went to school dances, I applied to colleges. But for her, time was forever frozen in 7th grade; it left her behind, but Memory has not. I will always remember. I will always remember her as the “What if?”
ZENDAYA COLEMAN GQ Magazine February 2021
“To read for pleasure is a gift for the mind; Seeing the characters in a book who have the same demons as mine and feel my tears drip as they find redemption. I read books as if it predicts my life; a map to the future – a compass for the personality. To read is to make friends with people who are dead in the body and alive in my thoughts. I read to write as I write to live – I love my books as a gardener loves his flowers and marvel at the beauty of the words I cannot say.”
— Juansen Dizon, Ode to Readers
“In all she said, however open she seemed and voluptuous, there was something hidden; in all she did, however daring, there was something concealed. The clearness was only outward; within was a wandering flame.”
— Virginia Woolf, from The Complete Works; “Orlando: A Biography,”
