A sage is an explorer. They never bow to challenges and passionately pursue universal truths. Do you understand how that feels? Don't the stars make you feel it too? Thaumazein. According to the ancient philosophers, philosophy begins with wonder. We feel it when our bodies shudder in response to the beauty of the universe. And when our spirit compels us to get closer to that beauty. In other words, it's the urge to stop and question. God created this world and humanity seeks to understand it. I know of no nobler desire.
" Make the decision that will give your long-term self more equanimity." Naval Ravikant
Creating a better world means first clearly seeing the world as it is.- Dr. Katelyn Jetelina of Your Local Epidemiologist on "the pursuit of scientific reality" and "Make America Healthy Again"
You are not journeying; you are drifting and being driven, only exchanging one place for another, although that which you seek, – to live well, – is found everywhere.- Seneca, Letters from a Stoic
We all have nightmares. The first time a slave runs away, they are branded with this mark [ holds up her fist bearing a fleur du lis]. Second time, they're hamstrung. Third time, killed. When I was a girl, I was taught to be frightened of people on our plantation with this mark on their body. Trouble makers. But after I escaped myself, I saw them differently. The people with this mark, they're the people who know, intimately, how much freedom can cost. They wear it every day. So I do, too. If I'd let my past terrify me- I'd never be free of it.- Annette

How can I lose faith in the justice of life, when the dreams of those who sleep upon feathers are not more beautiful than the dreams of those who sleep upon the earth?- Khalil Gibran
Romans 13:10
Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
If you stop training, the skills you acquired will get rusty fast. Your unborn world is waiting for you so that it can join the millions of stories in existence like the stars in a galaxy. Continue your training.
His life was no less valuable for never coming to fruition in adult accomplishments. Because children grow up, we think a child's purpose is to grow up, but a child's purpose is to be a child. Nature doesn't disdain what only lives for a day. It pours the whole of itself into each moment. Life's bounty is in its flow, later is too late.- The Cost of Utopia by Tom Stoppard
You were never asking for too much. You were just asking the wrong person.
RISA by Bo Seo
RISA: Is the disagreement Real, Important, Specific, and Aligned? Before entering into a disagreement, for example, ask yourself if this is a real disagreement as opposed to an imagined slight, or something like that. Second, is the disagreement important enough to justify arguing? Third, is the disagreement specific enough that you can make progress within the allotted time? And fourth, are the two sides aligned in their objectives for the dispute? For instance, is the other side just looking to hurt your feelings?Meeting the RISA Checklist doesn’t guarantee that an argument will go well, but it suggests that there are conditions such that the argument could go well. By being deliberate and not jumping into disagreements out of pride or defensiveness, we can focus on disagreements that are most likely to be productive.
The law isn’t a set of rules, but the accumulation of a region’s desires for a better world. Fragile, irreplaceable hope, to live in safety and peace with those around them, that such a thing is even possible.-Tsunemori/Damon Sasi
when you're use to being centered, equality feels like oppression. - Amy Chen/ Mark Edward Caddo
Rebecca Solnit, Hope in the Dark
Too many of us are not living our dreams because we are living our fears- Les Brown
“Courage taught me no matter how bad a crisis gets… any sound investment will eventually pay off.” – Carlos Slim Helu
