It becomes a Paige vs Azzi thing because their solo stans like to argue and they hate the person their fave is dating because they're dating their faves. They also see the word role as a pejorative so a lot of the ire seems to be coming from that. I saw nothing wrong with what Paige said, I have eyes and I watch the games, I see how Azzi is being utilized. I do think that she has actually gotten a lot of defensive development in Dallas but I understand why people want her to shoot the ball more. I don't think that this will be the formula for the the entirety of her time in Dallas but I think in the short term she is going to anchor their defense and take some shots when she can. My problem with Dallas isn't even that it is the fact that even though Paige was describing Azzi's role/responsibility on the team it always seems as though there is no hierarchy when they play. Jose is not enforcing those so called roles with people like Arike, Zaza and Odyssey and sometimes both Paige and Azzi fall into passing the ball, getting themselves open and expecting the ball back but instead of passing it back they take a stupid ass shot. I think that a lot of the low IQ hoops is sometimes an issue with them not having a hierarchy and not knowing their roles. Contrast that with GSV where they all seem to know their role and play like it.
oh yea i definitely donāt think this is the end all be all for azzi and her development on the team. she has so much more to learn and grow into that im not necessarily concerned. but to your point, i wish that hierarchy was made apparent verbally but i think on the court we see that paige and arike are taking the most attempts followed by jess and azzi. it swings a lot from game to game but that is mostly what ive gathered. with zaza and odyssey, they might as well just be the only ones on the court. idk š the issue i have is i think azzi should be in the 2 spot and allowed to develop there no matter the wins or losses but ig thatās just my personal preference š¤·āāļø

Help me understand something.....If this is not a Paige vs Azzi issue, then why is Paige being blamed by Azzi fans?! People are quicker to call out and slander Paige's name than to rightfully call out the coaching staff and front office.
because those people are stupid š like I donāt know what you want me to say. they are incapable of understanding the root of a problem so they take everything at face value. my point is im not making it a paige vs azzi issue because i want them both to succeed and ultimately it doesnāt matter what paige says because what we see on the court is what we see on the court. people just already donāt like her so they want to make her the villain and it happens every time
you know what, im pissed off so im just going to say this now actually so itās out my head and i can enjoy ASW. you are free to block me idc and wont take it personally. my issue is 100% not with paige obviously. this isnāt a paige azzi discourse for me and more so a look on this being a business and my issues with the organization. but ig im just irritated that what she said is true. all the other #1 picks and most of the other rookies where put in more optimal positions for their individual success and long term success. yes, mentally itās better to be on a winning team but only if youāre contributing to wins to your greatest potential. itās the same with people who disregard bench rings. itās because a player didnāt really have an impact in the winning so things are kind of just given. that being said, i wish azzi was able to contribute to winning more and in the ways we were promised from jose and the organization. she is a 1a/1b two way player with amazing off ball movement, shooting, and defense and should be getting developed right now to be filling that role. paige was able to develop rapidly because of her exposure to being the focal point and she benefited from that even with the losses. azzi fans are frustrated because we all know azzi can be doing so much more right now, but like paige said they needed her to fill a role (which she is doing phenomenally btw). and you all berate the girl for going #1 and putting up the numbers she has because believe it or not yall had the exact same expectations that we had for her going into the season. the only difference is we know itās not a lack of skill but a lack of opportunity. and im tired of the āstop getting mad she said sheās a role playerā because i vividly remember last season when arike said she was excited for paige to get her more passes and open looks for her to shoot more everyone was up in arms. and rightfully so bc paige deserved to be taking the shots and leading the team based on her skills. well azzi fans feel the same abt azzi.
if you feel like azzi is a role player or that this is an optimal role for her to be in right now then thatās fine. but for me it seems like the organization is all dragging their feet at the expense of azziās development and just overall wellbeing (the backlash she has received since april has been insane whether she reads it or not). like why wait? she could be averaging 20+ in wins instead of 10+ in close losses thatās all im saying. and im sorry if you feel like fans should just be ok with her utilization being fucked but what can you do. ig itās f us because we wanted her to go #1 as she deserved and actually benefit from being picked for that team and pushed toward her next level. but like i said the franchise was going to do what it wanted to make more money and they donāt really care abt individuals as much as we think. ig you canāt have your cake and eat it too with yall š¤·āāļø. this argument is more about what you value most: team success or individual success/development

I'm so glad that Azzi got back on camera. I've seen so many people saying that they never knew that she has such a fun personality. I'm side eyeing them all because if they listened to her podcast they would know that she is hilarious. Also there is no way that she would have survived almost 10 years of being Paige's person and not be quick witted and fun. I saw someone describe them having the same personality in different fonts and I think that they were right.
I laughed so hard when they were the first people spotted on stream when they got to that party because people were melting down about them not walking the orange carpet together and trolling about their relationship.
Paige and Annie both being drunk made me laugh, but Annie knocking back the Hennessy gagged me. Paige is gonna have to pace herself better for Day 2 and Azzi's gonna need an IV because I'm still picking her to win the 3 point contest.
you might have hit the nail on the head. just from my perspective it looks like they kind of have inverse personalities. paige gives me extroverted exterior with a slightly introverted core and azzi give me introverted exterior with a slightly extroverted core. i donāt know how else to describe it other than paige starts out in your face and once she gets to know you kind of mellows out. azzi starts out mellow and once she gets to know you she feels comfortable showing personality.
but yea we still going with goatzzi for the 3 point contest of course!!!
Im gonna be so exhausted after this weekend. Paige started off the drunk shenanigans on the orange carpet and Azzi ended them and this was only the first day. Shoutout to BC for being my goatās big sister while she was outside. Also to T for blocking those people who showed up with the pictures for Azzi to sign and for trolling that old man who hit on her. Azzi wasnāt lying when she said she wanted to be outside.
as a fellow extroverted introvert, azzi did her biggest one š. and you could literally see as the night went on how that awareness fear slowly went away and she could just enjoy her night freely
