Received our Ruby Red Roter Kaizer Peacocks today.
240 Gallon Mnuba Africans. Fish are camera shy!
We decided to upgrade our 55 Gallon Tall to a 90 Gallon Cube. After a few months of it being up, we got a ich infestation and hair algae outbreak. Lost all the fish with the exception of the Mystery Wrasse. Could not control the Hair Algae, so have decided toi start over 100% and drop off our Wrasse at a LFS.
Duncan
Went to a Frag Swap last Saturday. Picked up some nice corals. Never seen or heard of a Duncan. SO I picked it up. I love it. Only draw back is that er have to spot feed each head.
New Clam
Picked up a clam the other day. Know body locally had any. Had to take a road trip to get it. Well worth the drive. I can't remember the name of the clam though.
55 Gallon Tall
Frag Rack
Finally got our Frag Rack from Frag A Rack They are only 2 hours away, I was expecting to get it 3 days later. Week later I got it.lol
Cyanobacteria Outbreak
We have a major Cyanobacteria outbreak. We have tried everything that we can think of. Today we are trying a product that will hopefully kill it. Didn't want to add chemicals to the tank, I am desperate.
Rose Bubble Tip Anemone
Forgot about this one. Picked up about 3 weeks ago. He is still hiding in the rocks. SO not much to see,
More Corals and Fish
Picked up some more fish and corals. Drove to Aquarium Depot. Well worth the drive.
Also picked up a few Fireshrimp.
Blacker Ice Clowns
About 2 weeks ago we ordered a pair of Blacker Ice Clowfish from Alpha Aquaculture. Love the fish.
These are the actual fish we got.
Little video of them right after we got them. They are in the drip tub.
Added more Corals
A few weeks ago I added some more Corals. Frog Spawn, Torch, and Hammer. Plus a Leather Toadstool.
Can't forget about the Green Star Polyp (GSP)
Got Some Corals
I have recently joined a local Reefers club. Picked up a few corals from a few members.
Not sure the name, some kind of Green Zoa, Pulsating Xenia, War Coral, Mushrooms.
Added Some Fish
I let the tank cycle for about 2 months before adding any live creatures, also doing a weekly water change for the first month and bi monthly after that. We picked up some cleaning crew and a few fish.
Also picked up a few more pieces of live rock. Notice the nearly bleached looking rocks. Went to our LFS for these.
55 Gallon Reef
Finally got the tank set up. Had to add an extension on the tank so the light would fit. Looks ghetto but it works.
For lighting I went with a 6 bulb T5HO from AquaticLife. I through out the bulbs that it came with and switched to ATI. Went with 2x Coral Plus, 2X Purple Plus, and 2X Blue Plus.
The sump is ESHopps WD-125, replaced the bio balls with rubble rock. Using a Corallife Super Skimmer 65. What a pain it was to finally get it to work right. I have 2 Hydro Koralia power-heads for water flow. 60 pounds of live Fiji Pink live sand.
Moving to Reef
In November we took down or planted tank. Sold or gave away everything that we didn't need for the reef.
No just need to add some live rock. Picked up 60 pounds from Live Rock N Reef.
We even found a few hitchhiker's. Never seen seen them since.
Finally after everything settles, it's starting to look like a reef tank.
55 Gallon Tall
Awhile back, around November we took down our planted tank. It was a 55 gallon tall. It was a pain in the ass. The snail infestation was the last draw. Tore it down and moved to a reef tank.
