TOPHETH changes name to ELEPHANT'S FOOT, cover for new album revealed!
Greetings everyone. As I've mentioned it yesterday on Facebook page, important information concerning TOPHETH's future will be revealed now.
I've decided to change the band's name. New name is ELEPHANT'S FOOT. Along with name change came logo change, inspiration change (you'll hear soon enough), everything change. More about new name down the road, let's discuss TOPHETH right now.
Now, why would I change the name that served me pretty fine for the last five years, the name that's printed on four different releases?
To be quite honest, I've never truly thought TOPHETH will make it anywhere. When I've started doing music under the TOPHETH moniker, I thought it's gonna last for a few months, I'm gonna get a few releases done. Turns out, five years later, here I am, still interested in doing this. Naming this project TOPHETH was an act of carelessness and lack of research. However, it did fit fine.
TOPHETH's logo was basically a free font of Phoenician alphabet, something that bugged me for a long time- I've wanted, but was unable to create my own, and also I was unable to confirm that the font was actually accurate.
However, I've turned the page in 2015 and I've come to a conclusion this name no longer presents what I want ELEPHANT'S FOOT to be. TOPHETH, in a way, limited me, and since this is art, not a job, I felt an urge to completely transform the band, the way I want it to be.
The bizzare and deadly ELEPHANT'S FOOT... Solid mass made of melted nuclear fuel mixed with lots and lots of concrete, sand, and core sealing material that the fuel had melted through. It is located in a basement area under the original location of the Chernobyl's nuclear core. In 1986 the radiation level on the ”Elephant's Foot” was measured at 10,000 roentgens per hour, anyone who approached would have received a fatal dose in under a minute. After just 30 seconds of exposure, dizziness and fatigue will find you a week later. Two minutes of exposure and your cells will soon begin to hemorrhage; four minutes: vomiting, diarrhea, and fever. 300 seconds and you have two days to live.
The new name perfectly represents what ELEPHANT'S FOOT will be from now on: ugly, harsh music. I will experiment more, I will broad my influences.
Also, here comes a new hand drawn logo, done by me, the logo that perfectly presents my connection to underground and darkness. No cheap thrills, no flashy trends.
Name change also means several promotional changes.
Myspace profile (previously located at www.myspace.com/tophethell) no longer exists.
Stereokiller profile (previously located at http://topheth.stereokiller.com) no longer exists.
Facebook page has been renamed and new URL is http://www.facebook.com/3lephantsfoot
Bandcamp page has been renamed and new URL is http://3lephantsfoot.bandcamp.com. Releases under TOPHETH name will stay named like that.
Gmail - new e-mail address is [email protected], however - [email protected] is STILL ACTIVE, so if you send something to that one, I'm gonna get it. Probably the wisest thing would be to send your e-mail to both of these addresses if you really want to make sure I'm gonna read it.
Tumblr (this page aka official) has been renamed and new URL is 3lephantsfoot.tumblr.com - additional custom domain may be purchased soon enough.
So, that's it - This Tumbr profile, Facebook and Bandcamp. Nothing else is official nor endorsed.
Now, as for new release "Santisima Muerte" - you're gonna be able to hear it pretty soon. I'm currently recording it. It's taking a while, but for a good cause. However, here is the cover.
As always, it will be available as a cheap digital release, but I'll try to find someone interested in doing real physical copies.
