Waiting for my sister to leave for uni so I can light copal incense for Santa Muerte
(My sister doesn't like incense)
Santa Muerte does not need junk food all of the time!
Saint Martin de Porres Velázquez was a powerful and prevalent saint in my family. I had a little statue of him in my home, even though I thought he was somewhat a sellout. Years ago, Santisima entered my life, and I felt a chill when I went towards St. Martin. One day, I came home and he was toppled over, face forward. I moved him to the kitchen and placed him on top of the refrigerator. Things were quiet for a while, then I noticed he had no head! It was next to him at the base. For some reason I dropped his head in someone's purse and kept the body. Today, La Santisima said: give it a rest, throw it away.
I love the side-eye looks when people see these beauties on La Santa's altar. The 'should I ask for one' lift of the eyebrow; The pouty mouth which questions 'what does she need with that '. Eventually, they see the look on my face that says 'bitch please'.
Santa Muerta, thank you for giving me another to Love, Laugh and play
I am Loved, you are Loved
