I feel as if I'm missing something.. what is pyroswap!Avid's lore? Is he still turned by Shelby?
this time in the pyroswap au: avid's turning and the secret fledgling club!
firstly, yes - he is still turned by shelby!
however, pyro being the big man in charge means that avid would 100% be kill-on-sight, no questions asked. so she turns him, immediately grabs his arm, and goes "TURN INTO A BAT NOW, WE'RE PRACTICING FLYING FOR A FEW HOURS."
by sheer luck and desperation, they actually manage to evade everyone's notice, and the secret new vampire remains secret for a lot longer!
that is, to everyone but scott, who had noticed shelby sneaking away and decided to follow her.
and then it went a little something like this:
thankfully, scott's desire to conspire against pyro outweighs his disdain for avid, though he's not exactly happy about it.
the three of them -- soon made four by drift -- tentatively form what shelby cheerfully decides to call 'the secret fledgling club', meeting every so often in an underground hideout to make sure avid doesn't get himself caught and killed.
they keep avid just fed enough that he doesn't move up to stage 2, teach him and drift ways to escape danger with their new powers, and keep each other updated on what's happening in their respective factions.
it starts as an obligation, but they each eventually find that they feel more... normal in these secret meetings than with anyone else in oakhurst.
after all, the castle isn't exactly the most comfortable atmosphere with scott and pyro's constant tension, neither for shelby nor for scott himself.
avid - though most of the townsfolk pretend they've been on his side the whole time have been much nicer to him - still can't help feeling isolated, even in the company of friendly faces.
drift feels more helpless than ever before, having been unable to protect even herself from being turned.
but when it's just the four of them, shelby feels as if she can breathe again. avid doesn't feel so alone anymore. drift feels the weight on her shoulders ease.
and scott - for just a moment - is able to loosen his grip on the facade he's maintained for as long as he can remember.
(up until now, he had believed that his and pyro's mutual antagonism was the most genuine intimacy he would ever get to have with anyone. but the more time he spends around these bumbling idiots... the less he really cares for that whole song and dance.)
What's going happen with Apo? With Scott turn her or Pyro. Because so far Scott has turned the ones c!Pyro did and vice versa. Does that mean Scott goes to hard in a fight and turn Cleo too? Hmmmmmmm
And what about Abolish. He has seen this right?
this time in the pyroswap au: apo's turning! (sorry, i know cleo is asked about as well, but this post would be wayyy too crowded if i addressed both. they'll likely get their own post sometime later!)
pyro turns apo in this au (and she doesn't have any better of an experience)!
it's a sore disappointment for pyro when owen shows up at the crypt with her. he had planned to do it in his own time, under much more controlled circumstances. after all, he's rather fond of them, much like he is of truffle and shelby -- he might even have let her stay human for a while, if she really wanted to cling to her mortality.
he takes apo aside to speak to them on his own and gives the most tempting sell he can, but disappointingly, she recoils in fear and rebukes him instead of accepting.
(apo thought they were friends. she thought she could trust pyro, but he'd been lying and hurting people behind her back all along.)
even so, she gets a chance -- with a few veiled threats to keep her quiet, of course -- to think it over first, and meet him at the castle with her final answer.
however, he no longer plans on delaying the inevitable. not anymore, now that he had seen the same disgust in their eyes as that of his peers all those centuries ago.
instead, pyro does to apo what he did to every person who scorned him: he shows her what it's like to be seen as mindless, irredeemable, and inhuman.

okay this probably isn't what you're going for, but my first thought for the pyroswap au is pyro and co going out on the Fateful Fishing Trip, getting all ready to turn shelby, Pyro is so ready to aura farm... and then shelby awkwardly explains that scott already turned her. he showed up back at their house and was immediately like "sooo i found proof of the supernatural" and she was IN. it was the best day of her life, this is so fun- why is Pyro growling.

oh don't worry, we're on a similar wavelength, anon. :) for scott goldsmith is nothing if not a petty bitch.
knowing pyro has his eye on shelby for the next turn, scott's first order of business is 100% to turn her first. it's a win-win in his eyes-- she gets a less traumatic turning, and he gets to undermine pyro's authority.
while waiting for owen and pyro to arrive, scott talks pyro up like "oh, he's going to be VERY happy you're with us now. we're like a little family, us vampires."
and to her surprise...
between her stress-free turning and the expectations scott built up for a warm welcome, witnessing pyro absolutely lose his shit -- even for only a brief second -- hits her a lot harder than canon scott's own warning to canon pyro.
she realizes very abruptly that she's not exactly getting the fun little vampire family scott had promised.

hear me out: au where pyro is one of the starter vampires but he turns scott first, tries really hard to get him to do Subservient Fledgling RP with him, and gets trolled for the next several episodes.

SCOTT: ... yeaaa no, i'm not doing that.
PYRO: WHAT.
PYRO: YOU DARE --
SCOTT: like, i won't judge what you're into, but...
pre-turning, pyro acts very respectfully towards scott, offering to do menial tasks for him and referring to him with proper noble titles, even though no-one else does it. not because of any actual respect, mind you, but as a way of playing with their food -- letting him believe that pyro is just another submissive sycophant and nothing more.
scott, however, is more than used to people pretending to like him for ulterior motives, and knows a liar when he sees one.
the only reason he even agrees to go out is to get away from the townsfolk (Avid) whispering (shouting) about him behind his back, figuring that having another person there would give him some safety, even in the worst case scenario.
he clocks that this is NOT true very quickly, and waits until they're distracted by the beacon to make his escape.
unfortunately, these people can literally fly.
to be honest, he's much less upset about being a vampire than he is about avid now being right about him.

this is why they had to tear the coven apart in vsmp . mcc showed they were too strong working together and there’s no rocket spleef rush in vsmp to nerf them
