Whatever you do don’t think about Hannah going into the woods every night for weeks or even months after Sarah died and sitting by the rock where they loved each other and telling her about her day and how she misses her and how things keep getting worse in Union now that she’s gone. And don’t think about Hannah crying herself to sleep on the moss she left over the grave, her keeping Sarah safe and Sarah keeping her warm.

Hannah goes to the woods for years and hopes that someday two people will be able to love each other the way she and Sarah never got to.

Promises

In the grocery store when Sam had to die, Deena promised her that once they were safe they could be together out and happily. She specifically mentioned making out and going on dates.

And that’s the same thing that Sarah promised when she thought Hannah was going to die. She promised they could be together out and happily and -specifically- kiss in the broad daylight.

And then 330 years later, Deena and Sam stood at that same rock where they kissed in the broad daylight.

Nick Goode

I didn’t realize at first why Sam got possessed at the end of 1994, but then it clicked. Once Sam touched the bones, she learned the truth about Sarah and the curse and that’s why the previous killers came after her. But she was able to escape by dying. However, that didn’t change the fact that she still knew the truth. So Goode went back down to the circle and gave her name to the devil to turn her into another Shadyside killer in attempt to get rid of her and protect himself.

And who else touched the bones, learned the truth, can escaped through death? Ziggy. Which means that if Nick hadn’t liked her, he probably would have done the same to her.

Ricky and hugs

I’ve talked about Ricky and how holding things contributes to his character but now it’s back so I think we should talk about it again.

In season one, we often saw Ricky hugging a pillow during/after uncomfortable situations. He held on to a pillow when he told Miss Jenn about his parents and again after he left Nini’s house when they offered to let him spend the night.

That was arguably the most stressful, overwhelming time in Ricky’s life. His relationship with Nini was slipping away internally while his parents’ relationship was slipping away around him. He was probably feeling very very out of control.

When someone feels not in control of what’s happening to them, they find coping mechanisms to help ground them and to make them feel in control.

One of these mechanisms is hugging/holding onto something. Thus, Ricky’s pillow hugging. I did the same thing when my anxiety was really bad; I hugged pillows and I even would wrap my arms around myself.

The first time we see Ricky do this in season two is after he and Nini break up. We know that Nini helped Ricky feel safe and secure.

What’s different about this time is the internal conflict Ricky is going through. In season one, he felt helpless and like there was nothing he could do about what was happening to him. But now, he and Nini clearly still love each other and even though they care about each other, they know they don’t work together. That’s what makes it so much harder on Ricky. He still loves Nini and he knows Nini loves him, but he believes that he isn’t good enough for her.

“If I Can’t Love Her”

So I know that “If I Can’t Love Her” was probably meant to be Howie’s big number for the season where he announces his feelings for Courtney and we get to see Rowan’s talent. And good for him, we love to see it. However...

I can’t be fully proud of him because I can’t stop thinking about how - and this is where the problem of both schools doing the same musical comes in - Ricky has to sing that song too!

Richard “Wears His Heart on His Sleeve Even Though He Doesn’t Want To” Bowen who just had to break up with the love of his life now has to sing a song called if I can’t love her.

We probably won’t see it because they’re not going to show us the same song twice but I can imagine Ricky numb in front of the cast with his eyes still red and puffy as he sings it and it brings Nini to tears because it still hurts for her too.

They’re gonna break up again-

This isn’t like at YAC where they were uptight and didn’t use nicknames. She’s putting herself out in the world as Nina instead of Nini, and it’s like she’s putting herself in the world without Ricky.

We know that she’s gone by Nini since kindergarten because Ricky couldn’t say his a’s. And in 10/11 years, she never wanted to go by anything else. She always had that piece of Ricky as a part of herself. And it’s gone now.

I can’t say for SURE if it means they’re going to break up again, but Ricky is definitely going to take it really hard.

I cried harder for Bly Manor than I’ve cried for anything else and no I am not exaggerating.

I’m 18 yrs old and I have to be honest, I only cried two times in my short and tiny life for a movie, I can’t deny that the second time was for Bly Manor.

I literally sobbed for half an hour when I finished it and I was so fcking sad, but then I realized...they lived for so many years together, they loved each other so much and didn’t waste any moment, and even if that bitch from the lake was trapped inside of Dani, I’m sure Dani managed to trap her and FEEL many many times, cause she was a warrior, we saw it, she was “braver than she looked” and I really think she managed to “put her away” and did her best to feel it all when she was with Jamie.

So I would say that, even if they didn’t end up together till they were grey and old, they loved and found true love for real, and that’s the most important part.

On the other hand I’m angry the kids forgot it all, that Dani sacrificed herself for them, but I can’t deny that yes, it was better this way.

The only thing that I hope (but which I’m pretty sure of) is that, as we saw at the end, Dani was indeed always with Jamie even after her death, she didn’t “haunted” or anything, she would not “sleep, wake and walk” and didn’t have to live in a loop like the others did, simply because the curse vanished, it was all over and she just died, sacrificing herself again, with the only exception that this time was for real.

However, we see her hand on Jamie’s shoulder in the last scene and this is where my heart jumped, it skipped a beat, cause that meant that she has always been with the love of her life, even after her death, her spirit stayed with her, and not on the bottom of a stinky lake. They were not “together” in person, but they were together in a kind of spiritually way, and this comforted me.

In conclusion, I’m sure that one of the things that the authors wanted us to understand since the beginning, with the old Jamie and everything, was simply the fact that soon she would have died too and finally they would reconnect with each other in heaven or whatever exists in the after life, they would finally meet each other again and finish their lives with finding each other again as they were meant to be, with the love of their lives, and again, I forgot how gorgeous Carla Gugino was and I’m so thankful for her brilliant acting, but not less for Amelia and Victoria.

Fuck this shit they made me fall in love with them so much!!!! I would pay gold I swear just to see them again in another film or tv series, they are young and have a long road ahead of their careers, and so my hope is always the last to die ! ❤️

Cause in the end, let’s be honest and don’t forget...dead doesn’t mean gone, and that was not a ghost story, it was a love story (same thing, actually).
