sometimes i think about the really hot guy in chicago that i gave my number to and literally 20 minutes after meeting him he convinced me into phone sex.
thinking back to this one time my diet literally consisted of nothing but a bag of nerd gummy clusters that i'd stretch through the entire week, and by the end of the month i was at 112
and while i'm on the topic of sexism tonight, i wanna talk about how casually people treat misogynoir.
for those who don't know, misogynoir is specifically focused on the misogyny against black women. you may look at me and ask me "well what's the difference?", and that's exactly what i mean. you DON'T know the difference, because no one talks about misogynoir, and when it's spoken of, it's not taken seriously.
misogynoir is how black women are masculinized, how they're demonized, how they're sexualized and objectified, the misogyny that black women face is amplified because of the racism towards black women. it's of a completely different category than a non-black woman, which is why it's labelled as such.
the problem, in my eyes, is that people understand intersectionality as a global thing, and it is in some aspects, but it originated for the black woman. it was put in place because black women were experiencing maltreatment because they were both black and a woman. people call, what is misogynoir, either racism or sexism. whichever they feel it "leans toward" more.
Malcolm X had said, "there's no one hated more than the Black woman", and that's entirely true, you just have to notice it. the statistics of how many black girls go missing in comparison to white girls in the U.S, the ever silent genocide of Black women across the globe, how we're constantly characterized as masculine and expected to act as such. i'd even go as far to say most mens' lack of preference for Black women is misogynoirist as well.
it's all a part of misogynoir, and we can fix it. we can raise awareness to it.
and dare i say: gender wars are misogynistic, not because of what they are but because of how the public responds to them
you see several videos talking about how men suffer and struggle too. men's mental health month, the education system, how they're treated in society, and no one denies it because it's true. men are told to toughen up and be strong. the education system caters towards the learning experience of women. these are all things that are true and no one denies.
but when women talk about how deeply woven sexism is in our society, how sayings and double standards affect the mental health of young girls, it always becomes "to be fair..."
we can't focus on double standards when we can't even admit that there's a problem with the public's reaction whenever we focus on women. we can't make halfway progress. "gender wars" have become another way to become male centered.
in our efforts "to be fair..." we've completely disregarded women.
