Contradictions in Cookie Run’s writing (plot holes, continuation errors and unresolved setups)
Silent Salt breaks his Soul Jam to kill himself despite all the ancients having their Soul Jams broken and surviving in the first scene of the game.
White Lily and Dark Enchantress can’t live if the other dies, so why didn’t White Lily just kill herself and spare the war from even happening in the first place if she wasn’t coming out of this alive anyway?
Narrative points out the Silver Tree still standing by the end of BY 2 as something important. It doesn’t get mentioned ever again.
Pure Vanilla says during the magic academy chapter he’s the only one who can stop White Lily. He never does that.
White Lily and Dark Enchantress being unable to survive if the other dies never gets established in the story.
White Lily wanted to find Silent Salt to learn of the beast-binding ritual. This never has any relevance post-BY 12.
Salt Cellar mentions how sacrifice only leads to more sacrifice. The narrative actively betrays this by having White Lily sacrifice herself using lore that was never established in-game.
The Beasts having tragic backstories serves no narrative purpose, not even as commentary on how society creates the monsters it tries to combat.
White Lily shows up during the first battle against Dark Enchantress Cookie in the first cutscene of the game despite being teleported to the Faerie Kingdom as a husk when Dark Enchantress was created. This is never explained.
Dark Enchantress becomes a witch and does nothing besides stepping on people (not a plot hole, but still bad writing)
The narrative preaches pushing back against evil, but characters like Custard Cookie face no consequences for their actions and aren’t framed as evil.
The narrative hammers home the possibility of Shadow Milk and Eternal Sugar changing their minds and rehabilitating. This is never followed up on, not even as commentary on people being unable to change if they are unwilling to consider being wrong.
It is stated Pure Vanilla is compassionate, but the writing rarely demonstrates it in practice. When facing Pom Pom Dough, despite her stating countless times how much pain she was in, no compassion is shown for her.
This is all I remember currently. If you remember any more contradictions in CRK’s writing, feel free to add to this post!

i am insane over the fact that it was shadow milk who had to become the ultimate cookie
because. because.
if we look back at the beginning of everything white lily has going on
her perfect cookie. meant to surpass cookies' fragile condition. from the ultimate cookie recipe book-
needed his soul. it has needed his soul to happen this whole time.
white lily's goal from when she was a student has finally happened
Hug that will Not happen but one (or both) hope it does
