you forget that reyna’s the girl whose biggest worry regarding her literal murder of her own father was that it was the worst crime a roman could commit. she was the praetor of rome, and loved her city and people to the point of gladly risking her life for them over and over. she killed her own father at the age of eleven, and her biggest fear, her biggest internal conflict, was regarding the consequences if rome found out.

this is the girl who discussed going to the ancient lands with jason, who was her best friend and whom she was very much in love with at the time, and who held off because it was outlawed. because however much she loved rome, she was as terrified as anyone else of the consequences if she stepped out of line.

and this is the girl who had decided to trust the enemy leader, and who left alone on a pegasus and crossed an entire ocean to the very ancient lands she was explicitly forbidden from going to, just after a note from said enemy leader asking her to do so. she broke every rule in rome’s book for annabeth.

that doesn’t sound platonic.
